I’m currently getting my bike license in Europe and trying to figure out what my first ride should be.

​At first, I was pretty set on the Suzuki SV650. It’s impossible to ignore because everyone recommends it, it’s bulletproof, and there are tons of them on the used market. But looking at things now, the GSX-8S is really tempting me. It looks way more modern, the chassis is supposed to be a lot more stable than the old SV, and the tech features like the quickshifter and ride modes seem like a huge plus.

​My main worry is whether the GSX-8S is just complete overkill for a beginner on a restricted 47.5 hp limit.

​I’m wondering if the weight and the tech are a bit too much to manage starting out, or if the A2 restriction just kills the engine's character anyway. If anyone has ridden a restricted GSX-8S, how does it handle low-speed stuff and daily riding? Does the modern chassis actually make it easier and safer to learn on than an older SV650, or am I just paying a premium for stuff I don't need yet?

​As a backup plan, I’m also looking at the Honda Hornet 750 since it’s in the exact same bracket.

​Would love to hear some feedback or experiences from anyone who has dealt with these bikes under restriction.

​Je viens chercher un peu d'aide pour ma femme qui est en train de caler sur le choix de son tire-lait. Elle cherche un modèle super compact, discret et facile à trimballer partout, et elle a complètement flashé sur le Momcozy M5.

​Le problème, c'est qu'après avoir pris ses mesures, elle a des mamelons un peu grands et il lui faudrait impérativement des téterelles en 30 mm. Et là, c'est la galère... Impossible de trouver cette taille pour le M5 sur les sites en France, on tombe toujours sur du 24 ou du 27 mm maximum.

​Du coup, on se demandait si certaines d'entre vous qui ont le M5 ont réussi à trouver des téterelles en 30 mm quelque part, ou s'il existe des astuces avec des marques compatibles ?

​Si jamais c'est vraiment mort pour cette taille avec ce modèle, on est preneurs de vos recommandations pour d'autres tire-laits nomades (les formats "wearable" qui se glissent directement dans le soutien-gorge) qui gèrent bien le 30 mm. On se demande aussi s'il vaut mieux acheter notre propre appareil ou si ça vaut le coup de regarder ce qui se fait en location pour avoir un truc bien efficace.

It’s going to be a pure weekend pleasure bike for twisty backroads, so I really want something punchy with a lot of character that won't feel boring after three months.

​On one hand, there's the SV650. It's a total classic, and everyone hypes up that V-Twin engine for its raw feel and sound. On the other hand, the new Hornet 750 sounds like an absolute weapon, super nimble and apparently that 270-degree twin still feels alive even when restricted. Has anyone here ridden both b2b in their restricted versions? Which one actually puts the biggest smile on your face?

​Also, I’ve been digging through used listings for the Hornet 750 and the pricing makes zero sense to me. For 2023 models with pretty low mileage, prices are swinging everywhere from €5,800 to €7,500.

​How is there a €1,700 gap on a bike that's barely a few years old? Why are some people asking almost MSRP for a used 2023? Is it just because of pricey add-ons like the quickshifter and exhausts, or is the A2 market demand just making sellers greedy?

IF you think I'm missing out on something else that fits the bill for a fun, punchy A2 bike with great character, let me know what else I should look at.

En dehors du fait que la moto soit utile/nécessaire pour certains afin d'’aller au taf, je me demande pourquoi beaucoup de motards considèrent la moto comme une thérapie et prennent plus de plaisir à rouler à moto qu’en voiture, malgré tous les risques que cela implique.

J’ai toujours eu cette réflexion : depuis la nuit des temps, l’être humain se déplaçait sur des bêtes, en contact direct avec le vent et tout l’environnement qui l’entoure. Et je trouve que la moto est l’un des seuls moyens de transport qui reproduit cette sensation et cette expérience que l’homme a toujours connues.
