Sigma 100-400 or lumix 70-300 S5ii telephoto for action shots?

S5ii. Shot a Dog Dock Diving event this weekend using my 20-60 kit lens and my 50mm prime. Pics and videos turned out great. However, it was just a practice weekend for them so I was able to get pretty close to the action. However, they want me back in a couple weeks to shoot a competition. They have much more strict rules and long story short, I have to shoot from the edge of the pool on the far side (50’ pool) so it’s inevitable I get a zoom lens.

Trust me. I’ve watched so many videos and read so many posts and can’t decide, plus they’re all older.

Lumix 70-300 for around $900
Or
Sigma 100-400 for around 750?

I do shoot around water, so as long as the weather sealing is still there for light splashes. It’s gonna be a lot of action shots outside and some 4k60fps video so I can slow some down.

Please….help. Haha

Hard case orientation.

Lumix S5ii with 20-60 and 50mm prime. Couple batteries, charger, etc. will have mics and stuff eventually and maybe another lens. Plus a spot for smaller mounts/etc. went with the Apache 4800 instead of 3800 simply to have extra room as my stuff grows.

I can swap the foam and flip it, but what’s the best/safest way to orient the camera in the hard case? Carrying it and lens facing down towards the ground? Or like I have it where the lens is facing up when carrying it?

Back in the game

This kit was awesome and way better priced than Amazon. Camera, kit lens, 50mm prime, extra battery, bag, SD card, etc.

Regret!

Sold my s5ii a few months ago and I regret every minute of it thinking I could just use my phone lol. However. I didn’t do terrible financially so I can spend the same amount on this sale on Amazon. Roughly 70% video and 30% photos. Travel, gym, stuff with kids, etc. pocket 3/4 are out of the question because of weather resistance. Is this a decent price? Comes with the 20-60 and 50mm (I had the 50mm on my s5ii and loved it) I love the fact I can record straight to my SSD card. I don’t plan on getting a cage right away so an SSD holder I can screw into the 1/4x20 on the bottom of the camera since I do handheld anyway for now.

Gimbal..Keep or return?

So I’m at a loss of ideas. I have quite the following on insta and TikTok and have done all my content with tripods and my iPhone 17PM using stock camera app and blackmagic app. Recently got a Hohem isteady V3 Ultra and I’m not that impressed. I had the M7 and returned it because it’s huge and I knew if it was annoying to set up, I wouldn’t use it. After using the V3 Ultra, I’ve noticed it’s just as annoying. I have to take my UAG case off to use it, and apart from following you around, there’s really not a use case for it unless you’re walking around a ton but a lot of my content is stationary gym content or stationary filming. On top of that, after only a week, I’ve noticed the remote doesn’t always charge when I put it back on. Would you guys just return it? Or force yourself to use it more? Has anyone else bought it and didn’t see what the hype was except the remote and tracking and return it? Btw: if you use the screen and shoot vertical, just know the screen only displays horizontal.

ND Filters for water sports

So I’ve decided on doing screw on instead of snap on. Mainly because I’m worried about water getting inbetween the stock lens cover and the snap on ND filter while jet skiing. Does anyone else have these? Do they have gaskets so when you swap the stock lens cover with the ND filter, it keeps it waterproof?

Use case help!!

Hey! I’ve read and read and watched and seen so many conflicting opinions. Sure, I may get some here. But here is my use case, just picked up some jet skis so definitely using it for that. Will get ND filters for whatever one I pick as well. Using it for flights, visiting Vegas, Camping, hiking, letting my son run around with it, rifle and pistol shooting competitions, and occasional gym pov shots when I don’t wanna use my phone. Between the action 6 combo and action 5 pro combo. Which one would be better? I do love that I can shoot vertical with the 6 without having to use a cage. Won’t be doing a ton of low light stuff but occasionally. Mostly daytime action stuff. I’m not worried about the price right now as they’re both pretty close. Please help with your experience. GoPro isn’t an option as with all the issues with the 13 and not gonna fork out $700 for the mission one pro.

Nd filter issues

Hey! Having an issue where I have a variable 2-32ND filter for my 17 pro max that I got off Amazon . When using the app, iso is all the way down and still blown out. I’m using the 180 degree shutter locked. Does quality of ND filters really matter that much? Would I be better off getting a kit like below which comes with ND 32 stand alone? I could stack a 16 on top of a 32 if needed. Any advice? I want to stay away from having to get a certain case for certain brands, etc. I can mess with the shutter speed to get it down a little but I’m worried about that messing up the quality of the video. Any advice helps!

Would it be a good deal for a gentle used iPad Pro 13” M4 with 512gb storage, an Apple keyboard case and gen 2 pencil for eight hundred?
