SO officially bought HCBM out of her share and I wish we were celebrating

For context he is sick, he has a man cold and has been weak for the last 2 days.

But today he went to sign at the notary and finalized him buying his ex out if the house we currently live in. He came back with such a long face because 1. He is sick 2. It means his debt and mortgage is now a little higher and he is stressed about money.

These are completely valid reasons to be feeling down. I just wish there was a little more celebrations about what I think is a step towards us building our life, home ownership obviously comes at the cost of great debt, but if thats all what it is about, whats the point of even owning a home if you cant be a little happy that you own property.

Maybe its just me

I hope I made the right decision 💔

My baby was 18. Last week I had to make the impossible decision of letting her go. I fear I will never recover, my world has gone dark.

She had been urinating a lot and outside her litter for almost 2 years. The vet saw a couple of UTIs and some kidney issues. No matter how many times we gave her antibiotics, it would always come back. It was getting impossible to keep up with the vet bills and the upkeep of cleaning the house. In the last week she was starting to become incontinent for her number 2s. I don’t know if her time was up but I felt like I had no choice, and everyday I live with guilt, for not making enough money, for not getting the absolute best treatements I could find, for not being enough for her. She was my soul cat, we were attached to the hip. I am so sorry.

First pic is recent, others are from years prior

My first pet loss and I am barely holding on

I had to put down my beloved cat of 18 years. I see a lot of recuring emotions in others’ grief, such a guilt, doubts, and of course extreme sadness where you feel you cannot live in a world without them. I felt all of it like you all.

I did not ask for the ashes as for me it was too uncomfortable to see her like that. But I still want to make an altar and honor her. I have pics and a little bit of fur, but I dont know what else to do. I want to paint her, and wear her initials in a necklace also.

So here I am asking how do you honor your beloved lost ones? I would love to know what you do, whether its in crafts, in your garden, on a shelf.

Thank you and my heart goes out to you all ♥️

Hi,

I love this community and it has always been very helpful.

My partner(M44) is great but we have opposite parenting style, I (F38) dont have a child of my own.

I like his kid (M8)but he has some behavioral issues and adhd.

My problem is that my boyfriend doesn’t follow through on things when it comes to discipline. I also think he isnt doing his kid any favor with:

-giving him screens/phones/VR since he was a toddler, I always tell him how he has too much screen time and its not helping his adhd and development
- gives him too much bad drinks on a weekly basis like sodas and gatorade, I am very against that but whatever.
- when the kid behaves worst than usual and gets punished, my boyfriend always caves in before the end of the punishment (gives him back a screen after a few hours instead of the days he was supposed to be of it.

Yesterday we had a big fight about it, and he said I dont know better because I read about it. But to me its not about reading about parenting, those things are common decency. But me saying this makes him very defensive and insecure.

I just dont know what to do moving forward or how to navigate this. Other than this we all get along pretty well, but this parenting issue is a super sensitive subject in the house.
