i was diagnosed with epilepsy when i was 15. so for the past six years i have been unable to drive. i just got my seizures under control so i was finally cleared by the neurologist a month after my 21st birthday to start driving.
I have had to watch both of my siblings learn to drive and be able to do nothing but rely on friends and family to get to places. I hate having to depend on everyone else so this year I was determined to start driving. But my family seems to be against the idea. I just drove for the first time this past weekend. but my sister drives all the time. And when i get upset about it they say that it makes them not want to teach me. I would pay for lessons but I have to save to buy my own car and pay my college tuition. i truly don’t know what to do anymore. it’s so frustrating knowing that i can’t do anything myself.
