How do I respond to racism from fellow Sri Lankans who have fairer skin?

How do I respond to racism from fellow Sri Lankans who have fairer skin?

I have gotten these insults

  1. "brown like a beggar"
  2. "u look black like a N word"
  3. "face only a mother could love, dark bich"

Photo above is the colour of my skin (take it with a pinch of salt it's under lighting)

I have been depressed for various reasons and this being one of them, I tried revealing about this in therapy and the response i got was "that's how classmates are" this is from a licensed counsellor btw

Recently, a close friend of mine posted a bad photo of me in status because I was leaving for Canada and he thought it was funny in his head and I confronted him about it and I said I go to therapy for shit like this - he refused to take it down until his girlfriend saw it and she sent a laughing emoji to that status and he sends me the screenshot and then he takes down the story... When I blocked him he has gone and insulted me about how dark skinned I am and how much I look like a beggar - made fun of me going to therapy (this guy's family sees caste btw) which my best friend like a best friend shared to me (I still can't trust anyone)

I just don't have a response against fair-skin prejudice in Sri Lanka - I'm so sick and tired - it's now bad to be brown in Sri Lanka and especially if you're a Muslim

I have gotten sneaky mico-aggressions like "are you Hindu?" (Eluding to the fact that Tamil people have darker skin tones)

I can't say anything to people with fairer-skin, I should just take the insult and go - you think success is a answer to these fair-skin people? They probably don't care - because they see me as a brown guy at the end of the day...

End of rant - I think I just gotta take it in the chin

Are Sexual Assaults Kits modern in Sri Lanka?

I just watched an episode of The Pitt (recommend it, great, gritty and a realistic show) - in one of those episodes they show DNA swabs, UV lights to find fingerprints and a lot of other stuff that can incriminate whoever imposed such trauma on women

It happened to a close friend of mine years ago and she showed me scars and a lot of stuff but by then she was 9 months late to do a rape kit.

Any nurses, women (if you wish to share) have gone through that procedure, can you tell me is it up to the standard like I saw on the show?

No evidence is needed for Messi to be perceived "Zionist", "Racist", "Unsportsmanlike" but when it comes to Ronaldo being a "sex offender" all sorts of goalposts move

Call me stupid, senseless, all you want, but football discourse, especially the passive-aggressive overnight activists here, has become full of people weaponizing vague moral labels like "racist," "arrogant," "unsportsmanlike" all in the court of social media.

I have seen direct evidence of Ronaldo appearing in multiple Israeli ads, but people conveniently ignore it, while my cousins have genuinely ended up believing false information about Messi. It's not that I'm on Messi's nuts. I'm pointing out the double standard in how people consume information about celebrities.

The double standard comes down to motivated legalism. When it comes to serious real-world allegations against Cristiano Ronaldo, defenders suddenly become procedural purists, treating NDA settlements, a lack of criminal charges, and civil dismissals over leaked documents as definitive proof of innocence, while ignoring the reporting and wider context entirely.

When fandom becomes tied to personal identity, standards of evidence collapse. Serious real-world misconduct gets rationalized away with legal loopholes, while flimsy internet rumors about the rival are treated as gospel.

I got your attention with the post title, but this is bigger than Ronaldo vs. Messi. It applies to all celebrity fandoms and the zombie mentality that comes with them.

Any series recommendations

I've recently finished Mindhunter, The Last Dance, Dexter, Narcos - Mexico (I watched the other one as well)

My favorite TV show of all time is The Wire - I love how it borders between a documentary and fiction - like true fiction - that's why I love Mindhunter as well...

I am just a little sensitive about one thing - I don't want any scenes of cheating - it triggers me - I started Dark and immediately not even 10 mins in - I see a scene of that type and I haven't touched it ever again - same happened with Ozark

I know it's ridiculous 🥲

I built a football draft game called Galactico11 ⚽

https://galactico11.com/

Hey everyone,

So I'm a CS student and this project started just before the FIFA World Cup inspired by the little 82-0 game that went viral in the basketball spaces

But the idea started months ago after watching the movie Moneyball because in football it's easy to drown in fame and gimmicks that may inflate player's abilities as to what they are

So I started creating math formulas to bring out the "real" best players on the pitch and then build a statistics website - that idea fizzled out as soon as I saw the prices for APIs to get a lot of the football data

But it laid the groundwork for Galactico11 since those math formulas helped me create something called IoG - which is Impact on Game - which shows you the best players in the world purely based on math

It has:

World Cup 2026 mode - Users can pick from various national team pools and try to win the World Cup

Invincibles mode - go undefeated in a league season

ET mode 👽 - final match against the aliens - this is where the user can pick freely and with the best picks

I'm still polishing the ratings and simulation, but I'd genuinely love to hear what fellow Sri Lankans think. Feedback, criticism and ideas are all welcome.

Any women around Kandy if this is ur delivery partner be careful

My mother had a terrible encounter with this asshole - shouting at her in the middle of the night using bad words and filth - this idiot has gone down from the original location and came up to my mom barking at her for not screaming at night to come up to the location - instead using words like vesi and shit - this bitch was gone by the time and I saw my mom crying

I had no such encounter before

I take accountability on my side because i couldn't pick up the calls because i was in the bathroom and asked my mom to get it but what's with pick me drivers these days and being unable to find the location - I usually tip drivers because my dad used to be a rider when we were struggling

I know most of the fault is mine, but it exposed an asshole so I'm posting it here

I put a complaint on PickMe too
