Week 6 weigh in

I’ve lost 5 pounds since last weigh in. I’m kind of shocked at how much I’ve been losing, honestly.

Male, 32, 5’8”
Starting weight: 265 lbs
Current weight: 240 lbs
Goal weight: 180 lbs

My workouts throughout the week:
I almost walked 20k steps every day this week, 1 day I only did 15k and 2-3 days were around 18k.

Dumbbell exercises every other day

100 squats, 100 sit-ups, 50 pushups every day.

My diet:
I’m not. I eat what I want but just watch my portions.

Could I lose more weight on a strict diet? Yes.
Do I want to give up the foods I love? No.
I lost 5 pounds this week, I’ll adjust my diet if I’m not seeing any more progress.

Week 4 results

Hi guys, I’m back with another progress update.

Male, 32, 5’8”
Starting weight: 265
Current weight: 249
Goal weight: 180

I’m so happy with the results I’m getting! Here are some changes I’ve made since my last update:

- started lifting weights
- started walking a minimum of 10k steps a day
- I cut out all snacks
- focused on eating more protein

I’ve noticed my energy has increased and my brain feels sharper after making all these changes. Actually, Ive been feeling a lot better in general! I wouldn’t say I felt bad or anything before this but now I just feel really good.

An added bonus with all the weight loss is going down a shirt size and pants size! I almost need a new belt too because I’m on the last hole!

I’m happy I found ADF and I’m even more happy that I can stick with it!

So annoyed with myself. (Self rant)

I picked strawberries from the garden today and without thinking took a bite of one to see how it tastes. I was on hour 35 of my first 72 hour attempt.

Anyways, I’ll still finish the 72 hours and try again another day.

Week 3 results!

I’m not going to lie, I was a little discouraged with how much my weight fluctuated over the past two weeks and it’s the reason I didn’t post results at the end of last week.

When I started ADF 3 weeks ago I weighed in at 265. This morning I weighed in at 253!!! I’m so happy I stuck with it and will continue to do ADF until I stop seeing results.

Last night I decided to change up my plan for eating days. Before, I didn’t stick to any diet and would just eat whatever my heart desires. I think that was doing more harm than good and probably why my weight was fluctuating so much. From this day forward I plan to be a little smarter about eating better foods.

My new goals for eating days is to be at a calorie deficit, eat more protein rich foods, and to cut out snacks.

Another change I’m making is better exercise. I’ve started doing body weight workouts at home. Honestly, I would like to get a gym membership but I currently live in the middle of nowhere and the closest gym is more expensive than I want to pay. Not to mention the price of gas is making it hard for me to justify driving anywhere.

I do plan to walk more as well! My bare minimum goal is 10k steps but ideally I’ll be shooting for 20k when it’s practical. I don’t always have 2+ hours to walk everyday. (It takes me just over an hour to walk 10k)

Wish me luck y’all! Next week I hope to be out of the 250’s and that much closer to my goal weight!

What’s the longest fast you have done?

I’ve been alternate day fasting for 2 weeks now and feeling good. I kind of want to try a longer fast of 3 days and eventually a 7 day fast. I’ve seen videos of people successfully doing 30+ days.

I’m just curious what people’s experience has been with a longer fast.

Week 1 results! -10lbs

My first week of adf and I’ve officially lost 10 pounds! I’m shocked honestly because I’m not dieting or anything. I’ll keep going like this until I plateau and then I’ll consider switching to a diet plan.

Today is another fasting day so I’m having a cup of coffee this morning and then water the rest of the day.

Just completed my first fast day!

The first day went really smooth! I actually feel like I could keep going but I will eat today.

I ended up going to a skating rink last night (open to close) and really wore myself out before going to bed. When I weighed myself this morning I was down to 258 (starting weight 265) and I expect it to fluctuate throughout the week.
