So many great one-liners early in Season 4...

Two that made me laugh out loud tonight: 1.) "And looking out at this kennel club, that was no small accomplishment." 2.) "Planes aren't that thin or that bright." "Neither is Oprah Winfrey, but that doesn't make her a flying saucer."

Does Sophia have any emotional monologues?

Guys. Help me remember. I was going through the four girls' most poignant monologues in my head. Immediately thought of Blanche's monologue before Big Daddy's coffin, Rose talking to Charlie in the birthday episode, and Dorothy's eulogy at Phil's funeral (among others, we all know Bea had an iconic handful of speeches!). But, did Sophia ever really give any poignant monologues? Picture It stories don't count as they're usually moments of levity. 😂 Am I missing anything?

I love what you've done with the place. What is it, one bedroom, one bath?

Guys I’m moving into a one bedroom from a studio later this summer and this clip is all I can think about.

We *know* she was evil, but Mattsson's delivery of the "You know why it doesn't bother me that you don't like me?" monologue was iconic.

Moving to Middletown Later this Summer

Hi friends! I’m moving to Middletown in late August, and I’m really excited about it. Although I’ve spent the past nine months living in western Massachusetts, I grew up in Hartford County and lived in Connecticut my whole life before that. I’m a young professional, so I’m especially interested in what the social atmosphere and day-to-day lifestyle are like for people in their 20s and 30s. So far, every review I’ve heard about (living in) Middletown has been positive. I’d love to hear more about the overall vibe of the city and what life is really like there. What do people usually do for fun on weekends? Any favorite restaurants, coffee shops, parks, shopping areas, or hidden gems? I’m especially curious about what makes Middletown feel unique to the people who live there. Looking forward to becoming part of the community soon!

OCD <> Technology, Infosphere, Tech Gremlins, Connectivity, IT Stuff

Hello! I feel like this is really niche but I'm turning to Reddit for any solidarity and in case it's more widespread than I thought. Does anyone else have OCD triggers around technology/IT stuff? That's what I have been feeling lately. Specifically, whenever I have tech gremlins, that immediately triggers obsessions—what if this account becomes unrecoverable? What if I get stuck in a 2FA loop and can't access my email anymore, which is linked to all my important accounts, not to mention streaming services, social media, and what have you? If Chrome gives me a message akin to, "This site doesn't support a secure connection" when it's something harmless, or takes too long to load, or whatever, I may think, what if I can never access the internet again from this WiFi connection, which is my only provider? If an email bounces back, is it because the receiving server blocked my message, or because my server is making messages undeliverable? The cherry on top is that it's really hard to reach a human these days for customer service, so I think, what if I get locked out of an account and can't reach someone to help me dig myself out? Just a total maelstrom of tech-related intrusive thoughts.

I am realizing I have a lot of mini-compulsions, in turn. Checking my email URLs to make sure the links aren't broken and I can still access them from my personal laptop. Writing down a fallback plan in my journal in case the doomsday comes true, rather than just sitting with the anxiety. Asking for reassurance that I've done everything necessary to protect my accounts against gremlins. Anyone else have these technology-related OCD loops?

Your ideas wanted!

Guys! I have a tattoo appointment next Saturday and am thinking I want to get a GG tattoo but have no idea what! Any ideas? Note that it should be small-ish and will be black ink. Maybe a niche quote? What comes to mind?

Google Prompts Question

Should I turn off Google Prompts? I recently toggled on 2FA on my Gmail and have enabled Passkey, Prompt, Recovery Phone, Recovery Email, and 10 Backup Codes. All bases covered.

I am logged into my Gmail on my Macbook and the Gmail app on my iPhone. I did the "re-log in test" where I signed out on my Macbook, signed back in, was prompted to hit the Google Prompt on my iPhone, and did so. So, the mechanism is working as it should.

However, when I inevitably get a new phone one day (same phone number) and attempt to log in to the Gmail app on the new phone, what happens if Google doesn't recognize the new device and, thus, I can't log into Gmail on the hypothetical new phone because the prompt can't be received by the old phone?

What would my avenue be then to log in on my new phone? It would be something along the lines of rejiggering my settings via my Macbook, correct?

Would turning off prompts NOW, when everything is secure and logged in, be a good thing to do so that my 2FA on the hypothetical new phone is not tied to a Google Prompt linked to an inactive device?

Am I overthinking this? Very possible as I do that often—ha! (Here is some background to set the stage: I've had my Gmail for years now, but it was functioning primarily as a secondary email address. However, I made the recent decision to start using my Gmail as the center of gravity instead of my antiquated AOL email (which had been my primary) because I was having some recent delivery/reliability issues on AOL—I guess that's what comes with using a legacy platform. I think I did the right thing with the migration AND with having 2FA enabled on my Gmail, but I just want to make sure I am pre-empting everything because I've heard horror stories of people getting locked out of their Gmails when trying to sign in from newly acquired devices or what have you, despite other 2FA measures in place).

Gmail App vs. Apple Mail App (iPhone)

Hey guys! Total hypothetical here; I just want folks' $.02 before proceeding. On my iPhone, I am thinking about deleting my Gmail *app* and using the built-in Mail app on my iPhone with my Gmail. Note: I don't have any other Google apps installed on my phone—unless YouTube counts...?—I just have my Gmail app at present.

However, I just want to make sure this hypothetical deletion of the Gmail app won't cause any snafus with Google Prompts or my recovery phone. As I understand it, I don't think logging in to my Gmail via the Apple mail app would trigger a Gmail login 2FA crisis, but I want to make sure I am correctly planning for disaster—if I delete the Gmail app and therefore have no Google-affiliated apps on my recovery phone (see above), is that a bad situation to be in if my account ever needs to be recovered, since I won't have a place for the Prompts to land? Additional context: For 2FA, I do have a passkey, Google Prompt, recovery phone, recovery email, and backup codes all enabled; however, I've heard (horror?) stories of how the first 2FA method it defaults to is Google Prompts and sometimes the "Try another way" doesn't work. Should I just disable 2FA altogether to avoid a possible nightmare lockout scenario one day?

Be honest, what is everyone's beef with the Mister Terrific episode? I honestly don't mind it. "That doesn't count, Rose! In St. Olaf, they think that Freud is a way to cook chicken!"
