Do folks hunt deer in the area?

I don't hunt. I wish I knew how, but it was never something I was introduced to, nor was my husband. I've shot a gun once when visiting family in Michigan one time, and hit the center of the target on my first try, but was absolutely dreadful the rest of that trip to the range. I would love to hunt my own meat but I'm sure it wouldn't turn out well for me.

Are there folks who hunt deer in the Sioux Falls area and sell the meat, hide, or bones? I did some searching and it does look like some business do sell a little but was just wondering more about individuals. Not really sure where to look to even make a request.

I was promoted

I have worked at a small family business for the past two years for part time seasonal work. The business is only open in the fall. I had interviewed for an assistant managers position earlier this year for my third year and I got it! The owner then called to meet with me at the beginning of July and let me know the manager who had hired me wouldn't be coming back and he was wondering if I was ok taking on a little more, which I was fine with.

Today he asked if I would interview and hire more people. I've never done that before and suddenly I'm finding I may need to look into some HR style training for myself since I don't belive it was the owners plan to have me step into that role but it just sorta happened.

The prior manager didn't leave us with great records of employees and from some of the things the owner was saying today, it sounds like the last manager didn't just "accept a new opportunity" and it may have been more of a dismissal and I am starting to see why the deeper I get into staffing and inventory.

What are good resources anyone can point me to while I jump into this new role? I'm in SD so I'll be looking into local labor laws and such. It's a staff ranging from 40 to 70 people depending on how many people come back or apply as new. Generally there are many minors who apply because it's open weekends.

My full time is a desk job and this seasonal job is a lot of running about and checkingn in with folks. While I've been a "professional" for many years now and I've been a manager before, this would be the first time I've been in charge of a more HR type position. Any tips or resources anyone thinks might help would be greatly helpful!

Introduced to Curly Wurlys by TaskMaster

Husband and I watch TaskMaster on YouTube in the US so when I heard about Curly Wurlys, we wanted to try them. They showed up just in time for Father's day and they are delightful! Carmel covered in chocolate and a great little snack. I do wish we could get these in America cause they were so fun!

My first harvest of the season!

I was able to harvest 5 radishes today and cut some green onion! I sliced them and mixed with a little sourcream and salt for the first garden salad of the season! I was so happy!
