Nearing 400 wishlishts after almost a year. This here is my trailer:

Hi, I started working on this programming puzzle game in July last year. I wanted to make a small game I can finish. It still keeps getting more complicated and bigger, but at least I have not yet given up (contrary to the approximately 200 other projects I started in the past 25 years...).

The genre of programming games is super niche, but I picked it anyway because I have the hope that this way, I can at least get the game finished, because programming is what I can do (contrary to figuring out tough game design choices).

So it is hardly surprising that this game is not picking up much steam so far: I get about one wishlist per day. While commercial success is not something I aim for, I still would try to make this game at least somewhat successful...

My steam page is here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3959370/8bitBot/

If you have ideas how to improve the page, let me know. I don't have much energy/time to change much about the trailer at this point (maybe in a month), but maybe you know some smaller effort tricks to improve this, I would be all ears.

I want to enter the programming game fest next month, that is on my list, which is why I am finalizing the game's demo page and am about to test the demo.

Thanks for reading.

A nature themed game level

I hope this does not count as spam - it is another level from my programming puzzle game (called 8-bitBot, posted one last week). It comes with a level editor by the way, and that one is dearly needed by myself: I have to make like 100 more levels for this game... but I really enjoy placing all these little assets I made by now.

Releasing the trailer for my game 8-bitBot

I put this off for oh-so-long and this is certainly not a perfect trailer at all, but it is a trailer, at least by my standards! All scripted in game using a very primitive scripting text file: 1479 lines in total. At least I can translate it to different languages fairly easy now.

Well, in case you want to wishlist it, here is the link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3959370/8bitBot/

Isometric factory scene in my game

I added more decoration objects today for this level and thought, the aesthetics might be something this sub may like (it is a programming puzzle game where you define very simplistic programs for levels with up to 3 bots).

Campaign overworld map

All 3D models in Blender using simple gradient mapping for my game 8-bitBot. It will be just a visual representation of the campaign map to give some feeling of exploration, but now I would not mind making a simple sim city game ...
