multi-player isn't for you [hot take]

I've seen the debate of tryhards who game all day destroying someone who only gets on after a long day at work and obviously having a hard time resurface recently and I just don't get it. Play a single player game. I moved to single player focus because of this and honestly have felt better over the years. Play games focused on friend interactions like coop campaign games or the likes if it's the interaction you crave. Not every game will be for a specific type of person and unfortunately multi-player fps have shifted focus to these people that have way to much free time. Or just don't play comp. That's a big thing ivenoticed is these people focus on games with comp and ranked matches. I feel like we need more pve to combat this shift if anything. More games like payday or killing floor.

Time to play every crash game in release order. Any warning tips or suggestions.

I will be emulating as far as I can, I've always wanted to give these games a shot. Should I 100% them or beat them and move on? Any games I should prep myself on that are harder then others, are there difficulty spikes through the series? So on and so forth?

I made a post about how the genere and sub genere had become muddled over time and the argument I kept on seeing brought up was that quake and unreal exist so all boomer shooters are movment shooters. This is a bit crazy to me because it feels like an oversimplification of the argument. Sure quake and unreal were big names but boomershooter was birthed from games like doom, Duke nukem, shadow warrior, blood and so forth. Games that don't really have alot of movment tech if at all. Sure they were fast but I think the distinction is portrayl. If a focus is on grounded combat with light movment tech, somthing like dusk then that's still a boomer shooter. Where as somthing like turbo overkill or ultrakill wich focus on jumping around and dashing I'd argue are focused on movment. Sure a boomer shooter can also be a movment shooter but even then quake doesn't reach the ridiculousness of alot of modern movment shooters.

I was looking at the turbo overkill sub and it lists itself as a boomer shooter. While it has some of thoes elements it's way more of a movement shooter. I feel like I've seen the same title given to ultrakill. Is it just doom eternal that sparked this muddling of titles or has this been a thing? I'm not much in the boomer andmovment shooter communities so I'm curious what others feel about it.

I posted recently about heroes paradise and it seemed a common complaint was a different art direction. Let me be the first to say that I love heroes paradise so I'm very biased but I think the art direction is better.

The first game had a washed out tone that was pretty desaturated, I'd argue it was before they really knew what they wanted. Nmh2 and all that followed had this vibrance that ended in 3 being almost as hypersaturated as lollipop chainsaw. Heroes paradise really emphasized this with scenes containing more color, the biggest example being Shinobus fight. It has a heavy red and orange tint that feels more in line with the samurai or western showdown vibe that the fight had hinted at in its dialouge. The only difference is the shadows are not as blocky as the origional. They are still a deep contrast to the colors presented. It is a bit busy at times but even that really fits with loading screens and transition cuts being these detailed endeavors. I think the poor performance had left the game open to hyper critical scrutiny that left people ignoring its strong points and the progression of the series.

Every time I play through the series I play heroes Paradise in place of 1. It's a true remake. No meddling, just updated graphics. It really fits a good blend between two and three. But when looking it up it seems alot of people dislike it? What's this subs take on it?
