48,000 km service and trust in dealers

My 24 RWD is coming due for its 48000 km service. I've only been to the dealer for a couple recalls, and do seasonal tire swaps myself. The "Gear Fluid" service is the reason I feel this actually has to be done -- but I'm concerned that they'll be trying to suck money out of me for unnecessary work. Replace brake fluid after 2 years, really???? Any thoughts on this?
