Indian Caste-Based Reservation is not based on merit, it is based on priviledges based on birth. Caste-Based repression still exists in some areas but it can be controlled and eradicated through the use of better laws, policies and implememtation. So I think its the right time to remove a dividing policy from our system.

My Ideas:

1. Remove all forms of caste-based reservation from our constitution
2. 25% seats should be reserved for EWS ( Economically Weaker Sections ) and 75% seats unreserved
3. Remove the income cap for EWS from 8 lakhs/year to 3.5 lakhs/year or less
4. Anyone using a fake EWS certificate ( or one by bribing ) shall be harshly fined and jailed
5. Government releasing scholorship schemes for underpriviledged instead of giving freebies

My intentions of posting these are not criticising those who use reservations ( I would also use it if I was eligible ) but to remove this unequal, dividing policy that would result in betterment and development of our motherland.

Context:

Pata hai aaj kya hua, my mom and I were out strolling today when a man stopped us, asking for a specific doctor's address. My mom politely told him she didn’t know it. Right on cue, another man (obviously a partner in on the act) walked by. The scammer stopped him too, asked the same question, and then shifted the conversation.

He started showering my mom with compliments, saying she spoke so sweetly. Then he played the religious card, said he was visiting from Ayodhya and claimed, "Aapki maathe ki rekhayee keh rhi hai aap kuch maang rhi hain dil se" (Your forehead lines say you are wishing for something deeply).

To build instant credibility, he turned to his partner (the "random bystander") and did the same act, claiming the guy's mother was very ill. The partner acted shocked and confirmed it, making the scammer look like a genuine.

Then he asked my mom to give him two bottles of water so he could perform a ritual to reveal exactly what she wanted and how she could achieve it.

I’ve read enough about street scams to know exactly where this was going

My mind was screaming. I got instantly angry, grabbed my mom's arm, looked the guy dead in the eye, and said, "Aapke is bakwaas ke liye time nhi hai mere paas" (I don't have time for this nonsense) and started walking off.

My mom, being the kind-hearted person she is, hesitated and said, "Paani maang rha hai, de dete hain" (He's just asking for water, let's give it). I firmly told her no, pulled her along, and we walked away fast, successfully escaping a massive trap.

TL;DR: Scammers are using psychological street-theater, flattery, and religion to target elderly/kind people. They start by asking for simple things like directions or a bottle of water, only to escalate it into extorting gold and cash through fear tactics.

I visited the Darjeeling Zoo and the HMI on my trip. There I saw many boards in the museums telling people not to click photos with the artifacts or preserved animals but many people even after reading the boards, decided it would be a good idea to break the rules for a pic with the tiger's skin. One certain group was of a family who were dressed well, spoke in english and then their daughter and son posed like a model with artifacts and the animals. I also wished to call out them but didn't know how to, there was no staff in the museums and no other person to tell. I felt reluctant to call out them ( im introvert ). Overall locals in Darjeeling are the best people I have met and these people who destroy the beauty of this wonderful city must be banned from every tourist place.
