American Airlines can bite me

I’m very loyal to Delta. But it’s summertime and with all the thunderstorms I decided to get a direct flight. I travel every week through ATL and I’m just tired of running through the airport more often than not due to late departures. Or just plain having my 2nd leg get cancelled for whatever reason. So I just boarded my American flight with 6 other passengers-that’s right: there is only 7 of us!!
Guess what-there are three seats with people in them out of twelve in first class. And they wouldn’t upgrade the four of us remaining.
Delta would never.
I asked about it -laughing-and one of the crew got VERY snarky with me: “Well it’s not fair to the 3 that paid for it”.
WHAT? AGAIN -I repeat: Delta would never.
Unbelievable. Unless the three people in 1st class are complete jerks, you would think they would be happy for the 4 of us. 2 are together and they wouldn’t even have to sit us with the 3rd first-class person. Four seats are solo seats on one side of the plane.

Complete idiots. Won’t be getting my business again any time soon…I was hoping it would be a nice experience-giving me more options moving forward when scheduling is tight. Nope. Nope.

American Airlines cc moved from Barclays to CITI - worst customer service

Never received new card from CITI. Old Barclays card was going to expire 8-1-26 so I asked for a new card to be mailed to me. They refused and would not tell me why. I had to apply for a brand new card. I got the new card and it wouldn’t allow for certain charges to go through. I had to call because the card didn’t work - no one called me. I was told it was fixed. Next day same thing. No one in customer service helps and they don’t know what the app shows when they try to walk you through it. Absolutely disgusted and mad I have to deal with CITI to get my AA miles.

5 canceled flights in a row. Is something going on?

I’ve been trying to get to DC from Buffalo on American Airlines since Thursday. My original flight was Thursday. That flight was delayed 30 mins (bc of air traffic issues getting a plane) and then suddenly canceled almost 10 mins after the new boarding time with a plane at the gate that was immediately assigned to a different route and no announcement/explanation.

The next day, my flight was canceled due to weather. There were a lot of cancellations on the east coast that day due to weather so I understood this one (although annoyed they made us sit around for hours without any updates when they probably knew way in advance no flight was taking off).

My next flight was scheduled for Sunday since there were no available flights on Saturday (although I looked and at least one flight on this route was canceled that day as well). They canceled this one hours in advance for weather related issues when there was no sign of weather in either region and other flights were taking off and landing in both airports with no issue.

Today (Monday), the same thing happened again and I got a notification that my flight was canceled hours in advance for weather related issues (again with no evidence for this). I rebooked for tomorrow (Tuesday) morning and just got a notification that this flight is also canceled.

My question is what is going on?? Why does this keep happening? And American Airlines is saying they can’t get me on a different airline’s flight and is saying I need to drive to an airport hours away and have a layover to get to DC.

I’m not sure if something is happening in the DC area that is causing all this mess so any insights would be helpful. I honestly don’t even want to fly anymore. Also, what is the standard compensation for something like this? This has caused me to miss work along with throwing off a lot of other things in my life. I’m just frustrated and confused.

SWU -> Miles mistake

I am, EP and I had 4 SWU's expiring back in FEB/March. I took the mileage/LP option instead of extending them because I did not imagine flying international for over a year. Well, my company needs me in Paris France early September, and I no longer have the SWU to upgrade my outbound... I only ever upgrade the outbound so I can sleep. The returns are not as big of a deal for me.

I guess I just learned the hard way, always hold onto at least one SWU... So frustrating!

Anyone have tips on getting upgraded on an international that does not involve the SWU? Begging, Groveling, buying the GA coffee??? LOL.

Upgrade pricing

I’m 8 months out to a trip to Lisbon with my husband and toddler. Should I wait to upgrade? Is this likely to go down? April is not a peak Lisbon month from my understandings

British Airways canceled our return flights as a “no-show” after American Airlines rebooked us — can’t reach anyone. Help?

Hi everyone,

We’re hoping someone here has dealt with something similar and can give us some advice.

Our original outbound flight was affected by delays/cancellations, and American Airlines rebooked us at the gate for the following day. The rebooking was done under the same booking, and afterward the new itinerary appeared correctly in both the American Airlines and British Airways apps.

We successfully took the rebooked outbound flight.

However, we later discovered that British Airways apparently marked us as no-shows for the original flight and canceled all of our remaining return flights. My husband's return ticket shows as canceled, and mine seems to be ineligible for change.

Our return itinerary is:

Istanbul → London → Philadelphia → Indianapolis

We purchased changeable tickets, and since American Airlines officially rebooked us and we actually traveled on the replacement flight, we don’t understand why this was treated as a no-show.

The biggest problem now is that we cannot reach British Airways by phone at all. We’ve tried repeatedly for days, but the system says all agents are busy and disconnects the call. We contacted BA through live chat as well, but they told us that the situation is complicated and needs to be handled by phone.

So we’re stuck: chat says to call, but the phone system won’t let us reach anyone.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a BA ticket after being rebooked by American Airlines?

Is there another BA department, phone number, airport desk, email, or escalation method that actually works for getting the no-show corrected and the remaining flights reinstated?

We need to make a change to our return flight soon, so we’re getting pretty worried about being unable to reach anyone.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Delta or American for a flight attendant

Okay I’ve been doing a lot of digging on here and although I’ve gained a lot of information like how every airline is literally the same & it’s like a pick your battle situation rather than finding one that fits you completely.
And also all of the info is outdated so I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts from a more recent with everything that have changed perspective.

HELP ME CHOOSE MY BATTLE

For more background on me I was released from training on the day of my graduation after going through a rigorous 6 and half weeks of training at United I was soo so so crushed because of all of my time and effort, all the very early mornings being wasted. but now I’m trying to look at it from a stand point of redirection because delta has always been on the back of my mind it’s been my dream since I was 13 to become a FA for delta and I’ve gained soo much information from my training period with United so looking at it in a positive way because now I have an idea of how the whole process up until im on the line will look like & I’ve heard great things about delta reserve so thats great.

Im trying to find peace with the non unionized part I don’t know how I feel about it fully but I think I’ll survive I think at the end of the day it’s not much a union can do for you and people are making it seem like a union would save you from anything I’ll be fine as long as I follow policies and procedures, safety protocols, and be in uniform compliance while also checking in on time as long as I do that I will be fine without a union right?

Delta would be perfect for me if their only cons are the no union part please lmk any other cons you know of

And as far as AA I really love the uniform, they’re unionized and the pay is good but I don’t have too much info on them so if you can comment on pros and cons that would be great I didn’t really do too much research on AA but they seem like they have a lot going on and their applications are opening up soon so I don’t know if I would be missing out.

Please let me know where I should go I know this is a decision you have to make your self but I’m not the type of person who really have too much preferences as long as I look good and feel good in the uniforms and the pay is great and everyone is nice and friendly those are my only preferences.

And also delta has a base on where I currently live but I’m not sure if I should go with delta based of that because they might not have it available and it seems like a senior base too that would’ve been my other preference but I’m not sure about it.
