I realise that for many, this may not be a concern; for example, perhaps you are an artist, a bit 'gothy', or someone who simply keeps themselves to themselves. Or someone who thinks it may be cool to be outed as an occultist because you wouldn't mind being perceived as a bit edgy.

I am particularly interested in hearing from people in professional careers and/or people with a high social status. What is your alibi if your practices were to be discovered?

For example, if a database or members of an occult organisation that you were involved in were to be leaked. Or if video footage/photos of meetings/rituals, involving you, were published online. How would you address it?

I’ve seen magick work but why does it only work sometimes?

I believe that a warlock, who I was involved in a traumatic push-pull manipulative and gaslighting situationship with, has put (or had it done by another person) some kind of binding, hex, curse, or spell that causes physical pain and seems to consistently renew an invisible, sticky film all over my body, head and face. It's like burning ropes or string criss crossing all over my body sometimes and sometimes it feels like my limbs and body are literally being twisted in different directions. It changes all the time. I can feel it moving on my skin and sometimes i can see it move or twitch. Sometimes when it's not as strong, i can peel parts of it off momentarily giving me relief in that small area. My arms feel bound and i am not able to move them much without extreme pain. I have been trying to break this work for months to no avail. In the beginning it was just the annoying film that i could feel moving on my scalp or face. But since May, when I began to try to fully extricate myself from him, the pain and the feeling of someone doing horrible things to a possible voodoo doll have really kicked in and most days I can barely take my dog out to go to the bathroom due to the pain. I can't get dressed, hold the leash, open heavy doors, use my hands, walk without pain, and/or even stand up straight many days of the week.

Can anyone give me advice on what I can do or whether there is a type of practitioner that might have a solution? Please.

I thank you in advance, everyone who has any idea what this could be and/or how to undo or end this particular hardship.

PS: I have blocked and try to have zero contact with this person, but we live in the same building, on the same floor.

Premise:I was 24 and was living a happy American dream life.
-was married with a new child
-great job at Fortune 500 company
-just bought a house and was planning on moving in once my lease was up

But then I got into the occult. I ended up buying a book from Alastair Crowley and something about Demonic Summoning. I read this book allot. Never did anything other than that but ever since life seems to have gone to rubbish.

Paranormal:
-corner of my eye and many of my family members eyes, dark human shadows flickering
-hearing people call for me from across the house when I know they were not home. (Happened to every member of the house)
-knocking at 3:00am
-sense of foreboding
-tried to burn the book and it wouldn’t burn
-tried throwing it away and it came back

How my life has gone to rubbish:
-divorce
-lost seeing rights of my son
-lost the house
-lost the job
-was convicted of a felony that I didn’t do.

It just seems like ever since I got that book and would read it my luck spiraled and I am sick of it.

Any advice or is this just bad coincidence?

Are esotericism and the occult the same thing?

I’ve heard that it is a spiritual practice as with other forms of spirituality and witchcraft. I did a tarot reading from a more experienced practitioner.

The questions were basically will I shift, to which I got a yes (with the condition that I stop overthinking), which deity would be best suited for this to which I got Hermes - who according to my practitioner has already been offering help.

This is something I want to do more than anything - does anyone have any tips?

Hi, I have been really interested in getting in touch with my craft and actually putting intention into my work. I've noticed that I have a particularly hard time getting into a mindful state recently, and I also have really minimal motivation to actually take action to improve my circumstances. I started smoking cigarettes like 2 years ago regularly, always told myself I wasn't addicted, now it's definitely an addiction. I also take a stimulant for my adhd, an antidepressant, I do occasionally drink and smoke weed, but all of this + caffeine I feel like my brain is on ten. I know this needs to stop if I want to tap into my true power, but I'm hesitant because I'm having a particularly difficult time in my life right now and going through withdrawals on top of it sounds like hell. I do think the anxious brain and obsessiveness is not only blocking my manifestations, but also really taking a toll on my mental health. I'm curious if anyone has had any experience with quitting any substances and how it affected their journeys
