Audi Q6 ETron 2027 - Lane Centering

Hello :-)

I'm hopefully moving from my Mustang Mach E to a new Audi Q6 ETron but had a question regarding the car's cruise control / lane centering features. I've searched this reddit but couldn't find the answer so hoping someone could help.

I'm getting the car in the UK through a lease with LexAutolease (via work). On the Mach E, the feature I use the most often is the automatic lane centering so when I have the adaptive cruise control turned on, on the motorway, the car pretty much does the steering to keep me in the middle of the lane. This works really well for me as I do very little steering input (other than keeping my hands on the wheel).

Based on my car allowance, I am looking to lease the Audi Q6 ETron, sport trim, performance model with the tech pack. Up until today I assumed that this car / spec would do the lane centering like I had on the Mach E but some searches today seem to indicate this is not the case and instead I get the lane nudges rather than the steering.

My question is that, is this something I can purchase later through the myAudi app? The various AI tools seems to give me widely different answers.

Any help will be very much appreciated! thanks.

Regenerative Braking

I am currently driving a 2024 Q4 and considering trading it in for a 2027 Q6.. Wondering if the 2027 Q6 models still have traditional two pedal set-up (like my Q4), or if they have moved to a more standard one pedal set-up for EVs.

No 2027 Q6 Orders Taken Until After January, 2027

My usual dealer tells me that Audi USA is not taking orders or giving allocations until after Jan 1. Has anyone else heard this? If true, any idea why?

Bought the “sound enhancement package” but it’s stuck on “activating”

I have successfully bought the sound enhancement package in the MMI store in the past, but now the packages remain on “activating”.
Has anyone else had this issue ?

I already tried resetting the MMI by holding the volume button for 20 seconds, removing and re-adding my user account and doing the double close from the key and leaving the car for a few hours.

I’ve also already connected the Audi connect support, but I’m curious if anyone here had the same issue and was able to resolve it.

Q6 e-tron bricked during dealer software update — anyone else experienced this?

My Q6 e-tron is currently at an Audi dealer for a couple of service items, one of which is an Audi-requested/required software update. My service advisor warned me beforehand that the update is fairly involved and that they would need the car for 2–3 days.

This morning I got a call saying that during the software update the car had essentially "crashed" and was now bricked/inoperable.

The technician apparently had to disassemble part of the front luggage compartment to access one of the modules that was no longer communicating properly. During the subsequent diagnosis, they discovered an aftermarket LoJack/tracking device connected to the car's OBD/CAN system.

This was news to me. I leased the car new from a different Audi dealer and have never installed any aftermarket electronics. I called the selling dealer, and they immediately confirmed that they installed the LoJack before delivering the car to me. I vaguely remember getting an email about activating LoJack when I leased the car, but I never activated it and didn't realize there was actually an aftermarket device physically installed in the vehicle.

The servicing dealer now believes the LoJack may have interfered with the software update and caused or contributed to the failure. They're also looking to charge me roughly an hour of labor ($450+) for the additional work/removal, although much of the diagnostic work and disassembly appears to have been done before I was notified about the LoJack or any customer-pay charge.

I'm still trying to sort out who ultimately bears responsibility for that, but my main reason for posting is the technical issue:

Has anyone here had a Q6 e-tron crash/brick during one of the dealer software updates?

And specifically:

  • Has anyone had an update fail because of a LoJack, GPS tracker, OBD device, or other dealer-installed aftermarket equipment?
  • Did your dealer tell you aftermarket OBD/CAN devices needed to be disconnected before starting the update?
  • If your update failed and a module became unresponsive, what was ultimately required to recover the car?
  • Has anyone had a Q6 e-tron software update fail like this with a completely stock car?

I'm particularly curious whether the LoJack explanation is a known issue with these updates or whether the dealer is simply finding an aftermarket device after the fact and assuming that it caused the failure.

I'll update the post once I find out exactly which module failed and which software campaign/update they were performing.

UPDATE: I spoke with the Audi dealer that originally sold/leased me the car. They confirmed in writing that they installed the LoJack before delivery. They also checked with their service department, which says the LoJack should not prevent the Q6 from receiving the software update. So at the moment I have two Audi dealers giving me conflicting explanations about whether the LoJack could have caused the update failure. The selling dealer has offered to cover the removal cost, which I appreciate, but I'm still interested in figuring out what actually caused the car to brick.

UPDATE: Got the car back. Once the dealer removed the dealer-installed LoJack/Spireon tracker and restored the OBD connection to factory configuration, they were able to complete the software updates successfully. The car seems to be working fine now, although I'm still occasionally getting a charging-system warning.

The servicing dealer charged me about $430 for the removal/diagnostic work after giving me a slight discount when I pushed back with the service manager. The selling dealer, which had installed the tracker before delivering the car, very quickly agreed to reimburse me for the entire charge, so credit to them for handling that without a fight.

I'm still planning to open a case with Audi. This incident was resolved, but combined with the liftgate problems, intermittent driver-assistance warnings, charging warnings, etc., I'm pretty disappointed by the number of quality-of-life/software issues I've had with the Q6 in less than a year. None of them individually has been catastrophic, but collectively they're starting to undermine my confidence in the car.

KD2* installed - quick and smooth

While I had my car at the dealer to fix the passenger-side mirror I had caught on my garage door (luckily it was JUST the cap), they also installed KD2*. It was done in a couple of hours, and I was pleased to find that my digital key still worked (unlike KD2 where I had to reset that) and that most of the personalizations stuck. (I did have to redo the garage door remote, and I think there's something with the HUD I have to reenable.) The new sounds are interesting - I had been given a Q5 as a loaner and it has the same sound.

I was chatting again with the service manager, and she told me two interesting things. First is that Audi is doing a staged rollout of KD2* and that by October everyone should be eligible for it. Then when I mentioned that some people report their dealers are taking days to get it done, she said that the process requires excellent network connectivity of the box used to install the update, and that any network glitch will break the install. She commented that she's having their boxes connected by Ethernet for more reliability, but generally they don't have problems. She also mentioned that Audi is doing something to further speed up the install, and that later in the year it will be down to about 90 minutes.

I still need to test charging, as I've read some people have issues with that.

Hi,

is there any menu or app feature where I can check my charging history.

Found nothing so far. Wondering if such an easy feature is missing?

I'm also missing a diagram with a curve of the charging power over time.

Got the card to get KD2* installed - would you recommend?

KD2 made a major difference in the stability of the car. It seems like KD2* may not be an improvement but it’s hard to tell. Based on your experience with the new update, would you recommend going ahead with it?

KD3 release preview

KD3 is a ways off, looking like Q1 2027 now, but I thought I'd share a draft I've been working on for the eventual megathread. If you find any details about it, please add to the discussion. Once KD3 gets closer to a final release, I'll post an updated version as the final, pinned thread.

📌 MY25 Audi Q6 / SQ6 e-tron KD3 Software Update (Version 03.20.00/C) & What's Next

This megathread covers the upcoming KD3 software release (03.20.00/C) for 2025 Audi Q6 and SQ6 e-tron vehicles.

🔗 Related Subreddit Threads & Update History

ℹ️ Official Documentation & Version Tracking

🛠️ Key Technical Objectives for KD3

While KD2* (03.11.00/C) handles immediate driver-facing concerns like warning chimes and tailgate logic, KD3 (03.20.00/C) is designed as a deeper bus-level cleanup patch for persistent HCP (High Performance Computing) inter-module communication bugs:

  • Drive System & Gateway Fault Clears (DTC P060C00): Resolves spurious drive system fault codes logged in control module J1313 (address 812C) that previously caused false warning lights without hardware failure (NHTSA TSB MC-11034695-0001).
  • Pending Service Solutions (PSS) Resolution: Fulfills outstanding Audi PSS directives to clear occupant protection, camera-to-radar initialization, and driver assistance fault logs (NHTSA TSB MC-11034717-0001).
  • Module Startup Synchronization: Fixes cold-boot timing misalignments between HCP modules that cause intermittent USB-C power drops, delayed MMI wake-ups, or muted amplifier output on startup (ElectricHasGoneAudi Patch Overview).
  • Tailgate Latch & Sensor Refinements: Provides final software calibration for the J605 Tailgate Module to harmonize exterior mechanical latch resistance with motor torque (NHTSA Bulletin 06K2 Overview).
  • HomeLink & Profile Persistence: Fixes underlying memory bus bugs causing garage door profiles, ambient lighting preferences, and seat/audio settings to drop from user profiles (ElectricHasGoneAudi Knowledge Exchange).
  • Timer-Based Charging Communication: Refines AC/DC charging handshake protocols to prevent premature "Charging Terminated" errors on third-party wallboxes during scheduled off-peak charging sessions (ElectricHasGoneAudi Q6 e-tron Updates).

⚠️ Important Note: 2025 (03.xx) vs 2026/2027 (06.xx) Software Branches

There is often confusion regarding UI updates discussed in the media. Please note:

  • MY2025 Vehicles (03.xx Branch): 2025 models operate on the 03.xx software tree. KD3 (03.20.00/C) is a platform stability and bug-fix update. It will not retroactively add the redesigned MMI graphic layout, full standstill one-pedal braking, or ChatGPT integration found on newer builds (ElectricHasGoneAudi Model Year Changes Guide).
  • MY2026/2027 Vehicles (06.xx Branch): Newer production runs utilize the separate 06.xx software architecture tied to hardware revisions (ElectricHasGoneAudi MY2026+ Software Branch).

❓ FAQ: Will KD3 Enable Over-The-Air (OTA) Updates for Future Patches?

There has been widespread speculation across the community about whether KD3 acts as an "OTA enabler" for future major software releases:

  • Workshop Requirement: KD3 (03.20.00/C) itself must be installed in person at the dealer via ODIS. Flashing the underlying HCP domain controllers requires the vehicle to be physically connected to a high-voltage workshop charger and diagnostic rig during the multi-hour process (NHTSA Service Action Bulletin 06K2).
  • Future OTA Scope for MY2025: While the E3 1.2 architecture supports OTA for high-level software (infotainment apps, navigation map packages, and minor MMI patches), official service documentation indicates that deep bus-level firmware updates (such as ADAS, drive systems, and power electronics module logic) for MY2025 vehicles will continue to require dealer workshop visits rather than home OTA installations (ElectricHasGoneAudi Software Overview).

💬 Community Tracking & Reports

If your dealer has referenced KD3 / Version 03.20.00/C or placed your vehicle on a Pending Service Solution (PSS) waitlist:

  • Post your service advisor's notes or TSB references below!
  • Report back with software version screenshots once your update is complete!

The car was flawless on a cross-Europe 5,900 km trip

I’ve had problems with this car before. Mainly with the trunk and GPS. But after the latest software update it has been flawless. We just got back from a ~6,000 km cross-Europe trip, including driving up Furka and other passes in Switzerland. Loved every second of driving the car. Even briefly hit 205kmph on the Autobahn. Special shout out to the Audi charging card because I didn’t have to fluff around with downloading local charging apps. Worked perfectly in all 10 countries we charged in. Also love how accurate the car’s GPS was with changing countries. We had a bit of fun in Baarle-Nassau constantly jumping between Netherlands and Belgium.

Brand new '27 Q6 and myAudi app

Hi everyone, I recently purchased Q6 2027 model from my local Audi dealership in the Caribbean.

For some reason they didn't and doesn't know how to activate Audi connect.

I got myAudi app (iOS) and made a request with Audi HQ to add my vehicle to my profile, which they did after verification. But they weren't able to activated anything else beyond that.

At the moment, I can get my Q6 to connect to my home WiFi, but can't get my user profile to prompt to add myAudi log in credentials.

As as result, I cannot use wireless CarPlay, no digital key, no App Store etc etc.

Audi dealership here is of no help, seems like I know more about the car and first customer to even get the myAudi app.

If anyone can help guide me/dealership with how to get the Audi connect enabled, and integrate myAudi profile to the vehicle id be greatful.

Thanks in advance. Please let me know if you require and further information, I'd be glad to share.

EA Charging after the complimentary year in the US.

I just passed the one year mark and haven't tried EA chargers since. What will I need to do to continue using EA if I don't want to use a credit card at retail rate at each charge? I do have an EA Account for our Genesis GV70 (which comes with 3 years of free EA Charging!)

‘27 SQ6 Prestige interior

Some folks were asking in my other thread about interior pics, so here’s a few quick snaps. The really nice thing about the Prestige is the heads-up display with augmented reality, though in ‘27 I believe it’s available for Premium Plus as well. Really hard to show it in pics though.

Just picked up a 2027 SQ6 Prestige!

We’ve been waiting for this car since June. We were looking to replace our aging 2019 Model X with something much quieter, newer, better. Looked at a lot of different cars and settled on this one. Got a 36m lease and opted for the 2027 due to all the issues being reported on the 25s (🤞)

It’s only day 1 but we love it so far!

California Lemon Law

Hi everyone. I’ve had problems with this vehicle multiple times and I LOVE this car but I don’t love taking the car to the dealership for technical issues that are never ending and paying gas for a loaner car -___- (I get free charging at work).

If you have tried to go through the lemon law, did you go for a buyback or replacement? If it was a replacement, was it the same make, model and year of the vehicle? If it was a buyback, was the process easy? Just wondering for some steps on this.
