Parking Sensor Issues

Curious if others have issues with the parking sensors? I recently got the KD2* (03.11) update, and it got rid of a lot of the issues, but I still have the pesky parking sensors error randomly showing up. I took it to my dealer when it happened so they could read the errors, and they mentioned that they can see the bus communication errors and that Audi is aware and are planning another update to address those. I haven’t seen many people complain about these parking errors on here, so I’m trying to figure out if it’s a software problem or a hardware problem. I was thinking hardware, but doing the “soft reset” of locking the vehicle and keeping the keys away for a couple hours does solve the issue. (2025 Q6 in Canada.)

Thinking of buying this Q6 buyback

Hello,

I landed on the Q6 as one of the only EV SUV options that has faster charging, decent range, and isn't a Tesla. (I had earlier ruled out the Kia/Hyundai/Genesis family due to the widely reported ICCU issues.) I found a used Q6 locally, and took it for a short test drive, and really liked it. I was thinking about making an offer, when I did some searching, and found this forum. After reading many posts, I'm starting to feel like I might be crazy to even think about buying this car. It has only 300 miles, premium plus trim, $52,000 asking price. Here is what the Carfax shows:

https://preview.redd.it/c4zhpvaic0bh1.png?width=1946&format=png&auto=webp&s=3be29a51fb22d597365b9112527d8eb6ad6c7e53

So, the new owner brought it in for service less than three months after buying it, and between October 2025 and February 2026 only 11 miles were added to the odometer. Then three months later it was bought back, still with no additional miles put on it.

I'm asking the dealer that is selling it (a non-Audi dealer) if they have detailed service records, more information on the buyback, whether the latest software updates have been applied, and if they have a return window if the car turns out to be a disaster. It still has it's warranty.

Part of me is thinking - this is a great deal! They might have updated the software, replaced faulty components, and it could be great. And part of me is thinking I might be making a huge mistake and beginning months of painful visits to the Audi dealer waiting for fixes.

Thoughts? Other questions I should ask? I can go back and do another test drive - anything in particular I should check out?

Feedback on our new Audi in-car app

Hey everyone,

I built Aximote with two friends over the last year. The idea is to make the data your car already has more useful while driving and easier to understand afterwards.

Last week, Aximote was approved for the Audi Store. It should now be available for compatible Audi models with Android Automotive, roughly from model year 2024 onwards.

Right now, the in-car app focuses on three driving scores that evaluate your driving style. A more detailed in-car experience with configurable live data and additional driving insights is already on its way, but Audi’s review process takes quite a while.

In the mobile app, you can already dive deeper into trips and charging sessions with detailed consumption data, temperature impact, speed limits, charging history, costs and dashboard statistics.

We also recently added CSV export, API access and a Home Assistant integration for anyone who wants to use their vehicle data outside the app.

Since Audi support is still very new for us, we would really appreciate your feedback:

  • What data would you actually want to see while driving?
  • What kind of analysis would be useful after a trip or charging session?
  • Which Audi models are you using it with, and what works well or does not?

You can find it as Aximote in the Audi Store, Google Play Store and App Store.

Thanks a lot!

Personal Photos MMI

Saw in the release notes of the recent app updates that you can use personal photos to display on the MMI in the vehicle but can’t find where in the app you upload those photos to use. Has anyone done this yet? Any direction or instruction would be appreciated.

US based Q6 KD* update available

Dropped my car off at the dealer this morning for an issue with the peripheral cameras. SA said they also saw the software update was available so they'd do that too.

So if you have a Q6 in the US, it is at least starting to roll out.

Q6 etron front bonnet issues

I’m finding the storage space under the front bonnet basically useless, as the latch never seems to lock no matter which way I close it (full slam, shut slowly etc), and I am left with the constant warning message that it is not locked properly.

Is there something obvious I am missing or doing wrong

Windshield replacement

I got a huge fracture on my windshield and need to get it replaced. I’ll be going through insurance but I’m wondering if anyone has changed their Q6’s windshield before ? Anything to look out for? Tips?

I’m located in the northern Va area, so any suggestions/ vendors would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks all.

Central locking malfunction

Has anyone ever had the central locking malfunction successfully addressed by the dealer? I’m trying to decide if it’s worth taking it in. It’s really hard to get a loaner car from my dealer and if they can’t fix it I’d rather just wait and dump the car off at the end of the lease. Thanks.

Piano Black trim replacement

Has anyone found a decent option to replace the piano black interior trim? Especially the main panel around the start button and drive switch?

Q6 does not lock

UPDATE: I am an idiot and was wearing my Apple Watch (that I never wear) and apparently I had all Access Profiles on it as well.

Post in English for a broader Audience.

So, I did have a few minor SW issues with my car (proactive protection / matrix lights / assistants not working) which all resolve after a restart.

3 weeks ago the A/C started acting up. First, the option for stationary A/C disappeared, then the A/C quit completely and I could not turn it on one day. Fortunately, these faults resolved over night. Now the stationary A/C option is back in the menu.

Nevertheless, I scheduled a check up with the Audi partner after they read the error logs - in two weeks though.

Now, I am on vacation. We just arrived at the hotel, had a drink, browsed around and then I unpacked the car after the room was ready.
In the room, I discovered that my mobile was missing.
I traced back my steps, looked everywhere, went to the garage to discover that I am able to open the car.

Great - the phone is in the car, I thought.

Looked for it for twenty minutes…. closed the car, opened the car, locked the car. Could not find it.

Borrowed a phone, called my mobile….reception of the hotel answered.

Showed this to my wife in disbelief… the car goes through the regular locking procedure (independently off pressing the handle or the close button in the trunk). The mirrors fold in, it blinks and appears closed…..however, you are able to open it without phone or key.

Crazy!

Anybody had this before? I suspect this error is not easy to catch as you usually have your keys with you when you enter the car.

I invite you to try to open your car without your keys.

EU Q6 does only AC charging at 10A

Hi all

Got my Q6 a few months ago. So far no major issues.
Until this week…

Belgium has been hit by a (to us) heatwave with average temps of over 30C.

My Q6 doesnt seem to want to charge at more than 10A anymore via a Smappee charger.
(It starts out at 32A, but after a minute or 4-5, slows down to 10A)

Smappee reports to deliver 32A (7kW) but it looks like the car throttles to only 2.2-2.3kW.

Normal behaviour? Or should I have it checked out by a dealer?

I cant test another charging station until monday

UPDATE:
Issue solved.
Somehow the Audi kicks the P1 monitor of the Smappee from my LAN. That causes Smappee to go into ‘overusage protection’ and only allows 10A @ 230V.
Stupid things. Smappee can sends me notifications about my phone charger being left plugged in, but cant display its actively limiting my charging?? (Dashboards still showed 32A)

Q6 Fast Charging Got Slow

Is anyone seeing this?

In mid-May, our 2025 Q6 started charging slowly in DC mode. What used to take 20 minutes to charge from 30-80% started taking an hour or more. In addition to the free Electrify America (EA) charging from the dealership, we’ve used a few other networks without problems.

But recently, the 100+kW speeds we’ve seen was suddenly 35kW. Last weekend, we used Applegreen kiosks on the NJ Turnpike, and charging would start at 50kW and decline to 35kW at 70%. It also shows lower range at a given %.

We left it with the dealer twice. The first time they used their own Level 2 AC charger and said “works to spec.” The second time, I insisted that they reproduce the failure, and a service person drove it home and charged it at an EA charger. It charged slowly and displayed the wrong range.

Now the Audi service folks tell me that it’s affecting other Q6 e-trons and has been escalated to corporate. I’ve also learned that Electrify America is owned by Volkswagen, so the escalation has reached a C-suite.

AC results are still fine (243mi at 77%), if you’re patient.

Constant Issues 2025 SQ6 Etron

Hi everyone. Like everyone else, I’ve had issues with the driver assistance error warnings, charging system infrastructure errors, only use left charging port due to malfunction, having my electrical port open randomly (sometimes in conjunction with the charging port error) using system navigation and having my miles reduce drastically, and that’s all I could think about now.

With this being said, I did hear a new update just came out which I will be getting done on Wednesday but did anyone else’s Audi dealer (mine is in Beverly Hills, CA) tell them that Audi wants to have their entire dashboard/cockpit replaced. They told me Audi will contact me directly to get this sent to me but after reading all of the posts on here so far, I’m shocked to not read this. Has anyone else had this experience and have they done that for you?

Squeaking from back seat

I have a 25 PP Quattro.

Recently I noticed that there is a squeaking/rubbing sound coming from the right back seat, on the back of the seat. It comes out with turns or bumps.

The only thing that makes it go away is if push down that seat with the lever in the trunk. If it’s flat, completely quiet.

I took it to dealer, they aren’t sure what’s going on but said they will replace the seat harness under warranty, but will take months to get the part from Germany. I’m not so sure that will fix it.

Anyway im just wondering if anyone has this issue or recommend a fix. TIA

2027 vs 2025 Maps

Hi everyone. Just curious but is the full maps showing on the cockpit only for the 2027 version if used Apple/Google maps or the system installed navigation? I have a 2025 SQ6 Etron and for me, only the small box on the right on the cockpit show up when I’m using maps. Even if using the regular navigation, it never is full screen of the cockpit. Anyone know?

Fast Charging vs Home Charging

Hi everyone. So I keep reading that fast charging all the time is worst than home charging (articles are not car specific) but I’m so confused about this. Why would Audi offer a year’s worth of fast charging if the system would be affected by it? I bought my car used so I only have a couple of months left to use it and I have a home charger but can anyone tell me Audi’s stance on this?
