Need a good badminton racket under ₹2k

I'm planning to buy a new badminton racket and my budget is around ₹2,000.

Looking for something that's:

- Full graphite

- Good quality and durable

- Can handle decent string tension

- Available online with good discounts (Flipkart/Amazon)

I mostly play recreationally 2–3 times a week, so I just want the best value for the price.

Thanksssss

Mavis 350 too heavy? Opinions?

I've been playing in the UK for when I'm there at many levels of competition. The Standard there for upper level social players is also feather shuttlecocks if not hybrids.

I've been playing at an advanced and competitive level. I don't play too much when I'm back in India mostly just training with whatever feathers are available.

Recently played a bit socially and ofcourse we all switched to the 350 but what genuinely throws me off is how fucking hard you have to hit the shuttle for it go anywhere 😭

Feels like a very heavy slow shuttle. Why is it so popular? Feels like it changes some elements of the sport. Doubles games are so slow cause smash winners are hard to produce.

I've enjoyed Mavis 300, 600, and 2000 much better. They're faster and lighter and still retain 90% of the flight quality that the 350 has.

Interesting badminton physics: Shuttlecock velocity decay after smash and slice shots

Came across this paper on shuttle aerodynamics:
Shuttlecock velocity decay after smash and slice shots in badminton
Eric Collet, 2026
https://doi.org/10.1088/1402-4896/ae5361
A few interesting takeaways:

  • Shuttle loses about half its speed every ~3.35 m.
  • Some court distances for reference:
    • Back line to Net: ~7 m
    • Short service line to Net: ~2 m
    • Back line to Own short service line: ~5 m
    • Back line to Opponent's short service line: ~9 m
    • Back line to Opponent's back line: ~13 m
  • A 500 km/h smash from the back line is already around 250 ~125 km/h at the net, and about 125 ~30 km/h by the opponent's back line.
  • Attack: Shows the importance of taking the shuttle early.
    • A huge smash from the back court is effectively similar to hitting a smash about half as fast from around mid court. Taking it even farther forward (around the service line) is effectively much faster again because the shuttle hasn't had time to bleed off as much speed.
  • Defense: Shows the importance of deep lifts.
    • Increasing the shuttle's flight from 10 m to 11.5 m increases the defender's reaction time from about 440 ms to 660 ms (~50% more time). Only 1.5 m farther, but a huge difference.
  • Slices (right-handed players): Normal slice gives the shuttle its natural counter-clockwise spin. Reverse slice initially spins it the opposite way. As the shuttle returns to its natural spin, some forward kinetic energy is transferred into rotation. As a result, reverse slices slow down more than normal slices, in addition to the deception.

Interesting seeing actual numbers behind common coaching advice like lift deeper, take the shuttle early, contact the shuttle as high and as far forward as possible etc. The paper also goes into the physics in much more detail, with some interesting graphs on shuttle speed decay, time of flight, slice vs. reverse slice, and feather vs. plastic shuttlecocks.
Edit: corrected some calculation mistakes I made

Looking for a badminton racket recommendation for my husband (intermediate doubles player)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a badminton racket recommendation for my husband as a gift.

He is an intermediate player and plays badminton as a hobby, not professionally. He mostly plays doubles and is currently using a Yonex Carbonex 7000 Ex. Lately, he has been getting shoulder pain after playing for a while.

Can anyone suggest a racket that is easier on the shoulder but still good for doubles?

I haven't decided on the budget yet, but considering till 5k but can stretch more if it's really worth it.

Thank you!!!

Gel Tactic 13 authenticity

Saw these on. Sale today, got them for 3.8k on flipkart. Now my question is, the seller name is HSAtlastradeFashion, does anyone have any experience with this seller? I'm starting to doubt the authenticity of this product since these haven't dropped below 5.5k inr anywhere. Secondly, how do I check if my shoes are genuine? Does anyone here know about any thing to look out for or any method out there? Please do let me know.

Need badminton racket suggestions under ₹3k–₹3.5k (Intermediate–Advanced, Doubles Player)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy a new badminton racket with a budget of ₹3,000–₹3,500 (can stretch a little if it’s really worth it).

About me:

Intermediate to advanced level player
Mostly play doubles

Aggressive/attacking style and love smashing
At the same time, I need a racket that’s quick, lightweight, and easy to maneuver for fast defensive exchanges and drives at the net.

I’m currently considering:

Yonex Arcsaber 11 Play

Apacs Z-Ziggler Reborn

Li-Ning options (Air Force G3, Ignite series, etc.)

Has anyone used these? Which one would you recommend, or are there any better options in this price range?

Would love to hear your experiences, especially from doubles players.

Thanks in advance!

Additionally anyone suggest me good shoes under 2-3k..

Also is this site legit https://victorsport.in/ as there are many bugs in their website

Best Badminton Shoes Under ₹7k for Heel Pain?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from players who’ve dealt with heel pain or have experience with well-cushioned badminton shoes.

My situation:
I play badminton 4 times a week.
I also have a job where I’m on my feet for long hours every day.

I’ve developed pain in the center of both heels (not the inside edge). Pressing directly on the center of the heel is the most painful.
The pain is present in both feet.

Current setup:
Shoes: Babolat Shadow Tour (over 1 year old)
Insoles: Frido Gel Insoles

The shoes have served me well, but they’ve seen a lot of court time, so I’m wondering if the cushioning has simply worn out.

I’ve looked at a few options already:
PUMA Accelerate NITRO SQD
Li-Ning Ranger Force
Yonex Power Cushion SHB 57EX
ASICS GEL-Rocket 12
Victor A391

Budget:
Around or under ₹7,000 (India).
What I’m looking for:
- Maximum heel cushioning and shock absorption.
- Good lateral stability for badminton.
- Durable enough for playing 4x/week.
- Doesn’t have to be the lightest shoe but also not like super heavy, I’d rather protect my heels.

Has anyone with similar heel pain switched to a shoe that made a noticeable difference? If so, what would you recommend in this budget?
I’d especially appreciate feedback from people who’ve used any of the shoes listed above or have dealt with heel fat pad pain or similar heel issues.
Thanks!

What has your experience been with the durability of the Axforce Cannon 4U (in India)?

I was thinking of buying Axforce Cannon 4U but came across several Instagram reels claiming that it broke within 1–6 months of use. When I checked the comments, most people said it happened either because the owner was smashing frequently with the racket strung at 26 lbs, or because they had received a defective piece from the Li-Ning website.

Suggest me good badminton shoes for shin splints (₹3.5k to 4.5k)

I've been facing shin splints issue for the past few months. My shoes are like 2 years old, of some brand called VectorX, I've decided it's time to replace them.

I'm looking for shoes with good cushioning, comfort and stability. My budget is around 3.5k to 4.5k, suggest me some good shoes.

As of now, I'm considering the Asics Gel-Courtmov+. But I would like to hear your views...
