Want Books

I'm a student, living in Bhubaneswar. I love reading books but due to budget issues my parents are not allowing me to read books other than academic ones. But even though I managed to reads some books like, Three Mistakes of my life and One Indian Girl by Chetan Bhagat, The Archer, The Magic of Thinking Big, Out of The Maze, The Power of Habit, Endless Love and The Blue Umbrella by Ruskin Bond. I wants to read more but not able because of the lower budget. So if anyone willing to giveaway their used book, or if they are not using those now, then I'll be grateful to them.

Bhubaneswar, what's your love story? ❤️

Okay Bhubaneswar, I need your lore. 😭

How did y'all meet your significant other?

Also... do you believe in the red string of fate theory? I used to think it was just another hopeless romantic idea. But recently something happened that made me wonder if maybe some people really are meant to find each other. It also made me realize why nothing ever worked out with anyone else before.

Now I'm curious what's your story? Was it pure luck, destiny, a wrong number or college, Bumble, mutuals, or just the universe doing its thing?

Drop your meet-cute stories. I need something wholesome to read today. ❤️

Completed Sense and sensibility!!! (Finally)

So,

I have so much to say but idk how to describe it without spoiling anything..nvm I will let it be a mystery you should read it yourself and experience it.. Tbh it was quite a hard read for me it took me around idk 15 days or more .. It was my first jane austen and actually jane austen rights in such a poetic way that you will definitely have a hard time figuring out what is she actually talking about (it's the same with every book of her) but the plot was good the overall rating I will give it will be a solid 7/10 (cuz it was quite hard to read) ik that classics are a bit hard but it's on a different lvl🤣... But it's good entry book for anyone who wanna get into austen's works..

(Now my google history is filled with chapter explanation and meanings lol)

What are you all reading this month?

📚 Bhubaneswar readers, what are y'all reading this month? 👀

Need to feed my TBR addiction 😭 so drop whatever you're currently reading or any recommendations you swear by!

My TBR for this month is... objectively unhinged 💀:

- 📖 The Stranger

- 🌙 White Nights

- ☭ The Communist Manifesto

- 🏰 The Palace of Dreams

I know... the lineup makes absolutely zero sense 😂 but I'm excited for all of them.

What are you guys reading? Any books I should add before my wallet starts crying? 📚✨

Stranger short stories collection by Satyajit Ray

If you are into suspense thrillers occasionally fused with humour, these short stories by Satyajit Ray will entertain you for hours.

Here's what I liked the most about these stories. The storytelling is based on exactly how a common man in real life would experience things. In normal and expected situations.

I mean the stories never feel over exaggerated while reading.

They won't scare you exactly but will leave you with after- thoughts once you finish reading and keep you anticipating while reading.

My pick from the book would be these stories: Stranger, Sadhan Babu's Suspicions, The Vicious Vampire, Load Shedding, Anath Babu's Terror

The year I got back into reading

Was forced to take a sabbatical due to health reasons and came back home to BBSR. This is probably the longest i spent in town since I can ever remember.

While I worked on my health, I was finally able to get back to reading. Realised my dream of finally creating my bookshelf. Bought into the audiobook crowd, which is now my main source, as I join back to work.
