H1 2026 Update

Was forced on a sabbatical due to health reasons and i was able to get back into reading. Started audiobooks, which are now my main source since joining back work. The second pic is all the physical books I read this year and the last is my collection.

Rate my collection or lets discuss if you have opinions on the books i read

The year I got back into reading

Was forced to take a sabbatical due to health reasons and came back home to BBSR. This is probably the longest i spent in town since I can ever remember.

While I worked on my health, I was finally able to get back to reading. Realised my dream of finally creating my bookshelf. Bought into the audiobook crowd, which is now my main source, as I join back to work.

The year I got back into reading

Was forced to take a sabbatical for health reasons and i made the most of this opportunity. Finally bought into the audiobook mode and that propelled to finish all these physical books as well. Finally realised my dream of completing my bookshelf as well.

Now that I am back to work, I realise 200 seems a bit optimistic, but 150 is definitely on track!

Venus and Jupiter visible in the BBSR sky.

The lower one is Venus and the upper one is Jupiter. They should be visible in the westward sky for the next week. People with telescopes or better cameras- can you try to capture these properly?

I just came back from a trip to Koraput, where I have family residing. I have been there a few times before, but that was almost 10-12 years ago. Having travelled a lot domestically and internationally in the mean time- this visit solodified the belief that the naturally beauty in Koraput can rival the best hill stations.

But what surprises me is that inspite of the recent resurgence in social media and the observance of fests like Parab, there is still a complete lack of infrastructure here. Facilities are being built at a snails pace and mostly just for show, for govt babus to tick some boxes and get their money. Example- you will find a lot of portable toilets on the deomali hill top- not a single one of them work. People are to blame as well. While i get the nice feeling of having a drink with the view, its disgusting to find the amount of plastic waste and liquor bottles thrown around, especially at Talamali hill.

So much potential for a world class tourist spot, so little utilisation.
