How do you feel about BODW making your delays come back to haunt you with darker consequences?
Blood of Dawnwalker constantly puts you in tough "lesser of two evils" situations by making time a limited resource you can never get back. If you run out of time, the game doesn't simply throw up a "Game Over" screen. Instead, the world changes permanently, and you're left to face the lasting consequences of every delay.
this game is like MW2019.
did MW2019 have the fancy space suits and bunny outfits that infinite warfare had? no. did it have the over the top, saving private ryan campaign featuring esteemed hollywood actors like WW2? no.
but what it DID have, is an unmistakeable aura and a laser focus direction in it's art, it's atmosphere, it's themes and it's immersion. this game i think has that.
Am I the only one who feels this way? (Pre-release)
I know I'm probably overanalyzing this or being too critical, but I'm referring to the romance aspect of the game. As I've gotten "older" (early 20s here), I have craved more romance in video games I play. It's really fun, especially since nowadays there aren't really barriers relating to gender for it. I was really excited that BotD has it with However, BotD kinda has me uneasy, given the IGN interview from a couple months ago. It makes me feel almost as though they felt obligated to add the romance aspects, as they note they did it due to many players enjoying that component of video games, the romance aspect essentially punishing you due to the calendar system (even though it's been noted some mission aren't time-consuming; IDK why the romance couldn't be like that), and the emphasis that it's not the main focus of the game--which I wasn't expecting or wanting it to be, but if you have to point that out with the other stuff you mentioned, it does feel like it's not gonna be impactful to the main story and is mostly self-contained. Plus there's the fact that there's content spanning different eras and they plan to continue the saga beyond this game, so I'm assuming that we either won't get romance in the future or it'll be a different group of characters we romance (since I doubt they'll get the opportunity to become vampires), which will kinda bum me out if I gravitate towards a love itnerest and want Coen to be with them.
Not saying this makes or breaks the game for me--I actually have to, you know, PLAY IT--but it did put a bad taste in my mouth how the interview phrased things to me.
If you could add one feature from another popular game to Blood of Dawnwalker, what would you add, and why?
I'd remove quest map markers, similar to how Elden Ring handles them. It would encourage players to explore the world, investigate clues, and figure things out on their own instead of simply following a marker.

reddit.comAll Four Vampire Lords in Blood of Dawnwalker
Ambress is the youngest of the vampire lords and is widely seen as the weakest among them. Turned only recently, he comes into conflict with Coen and pushes back against being used as nothing more than a pawn in Brencis’s larger schemes.
Xanthe is one of the most powerful vampire lords in the region, holding a prominent place within its vampiric aristocracy.
Bakir is portrayed as a ruthless and highly ambitious vampire with a Mongol-inspired backstory, often likened to a vampiric version of Genghis Khan. Some pieces of lore also hint that he may be heading toward a betrayal arc involving Brencis.
Brencis is the main villain of the story. He was once a Roman senator who was born in AD 131. After becoming a vampire, he lost his place in society and fell very low. But he still wanted power. Now, he rules Vale Sangora very cruelly and makes humans pay a terrible blood tax.
