i got an arrear in DSC in 2nd sem i wrote it okayish way better than some other sunjects i dont know where it went wrong i have applied for re evaluation that is the only subject i have applied for re eval feeling reallly depressed am i cooked ?

So i went to the clg today to look around the campus, the clg itself was pretty decent, classrooms were fine and canteen food was gud too... I asked a senior akka how was hostel life (I'm from chennai but still wanted to join hostel), she said that it is way worse than i thought it was, and that the food is very bad.... I don't know what to do ryt now peopleee!! I gave up snuc for this college and now I'm regretting it!

This is for my friend. Which college will have a better college life?

Currently a pre final year student. Seniors who are attending placements can you please say how they are shortlisting students for marquee offers apart from cgpa 10 12 cutoff. Someone says leetcode count. Someone says gawk to placement staffs. Someone says you must be in sde. Is sde classes are that much imp like I can see 75-80% of people there are cheating copy pasting code for counts but iam seeing from first year they are not even testing their skills . They are only seeing count/ contest rating. Please give me a clear explanation about the placement experience.

If possible, share some insights for getting placed in marquee offers too.

So I'm an incoming cse batch

I've scored 93 percent in 12th with 181 cutoff and In 10th I've scored 486. I'm scared cos this time intake is huge. So I'm expecting a decent roi. If I have decent skills, will I get above 10lpa package?.

Does anyone know where our college's drinking water comes from? Is it municipal water, borewell water, or recycled water that's been treated for drinking?

So, i joined cit for higher studies and i couldnt able to write stories in exams as my frnds and my cgpa after 4th sem is 6.78. so i couldnt get into higher studies and i badly wanna get placed. but im not sure i could increase it to 7.5 within 6th sem.

if anybody was in my situation (CGPA less then 7.5). how did you manage?

and any tip about off campus placement or startups?

At CIT, one of my skilled friend recently got placed in a company offering 4 LPA with a 3-year bond.

Now he's stuck with two choices:
reject the offer and get out of placements completely
(or)
accept it and hope the college may allow him to attend other drives later (Not guaranteed).

What feels unfair is that students who underperform in placements are still allowed to attend more drives and get additional opportunities. Meanwhile, students who manage to get placed, even in low-package companies with long bonds, can end up losing their chances at better opportunities.

Shouldn't placement policies encourage students to grow and compete for better roles instead of creating uncertainty and penalizing those who get placed early?

CIT CDC trapping students with fake promises. You guys should take an immediate action on this.......

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to join Mechatronics Engineering at CIT Chennai through TNEA this year, and I'd really appreciate some honest opinions from seniors or alumni.

I've spent quite a bit of time researching different branches, especially ECE, since everyone keeps saying it's the "safer" option because of placements and flexibility. But after looking at the syllabus and trying a few small projects, I've realized that I genuinely enjoy Mechatronics much more. Robotics, automation, embedded systems, control systems, CAD, and the combination of mechanical + electronics just seem far more interesting to me.

One thing I'd like to clarify is that placements aren't my highest priority. Of course I want decent opportunities, but I'm more focused on learning, building projects, internships, and eventually doing something meaningful in robotics, automation, or higher studies if needed.

So I'd love some honest answers about CIT, especially the Mechanical/Mechatronics side:

• How is the Mechanical faculty? Are the professors genuinely interested in teaching, or is it mostly self-learning?
• How does the Mechanical department compare with departments like ECE, CSE, etc. in terms of support and overall quality?
• How are the labs? Are they well-equipped and actually used, or do they mostly sit idle?
• How is the overall infrastructure for Mechatronics students?
• Are students encouraged to participate in projects, competitions, hackathons, SAE, robotics clubs, etc.?
• How easy is it to get internships? Does the college help, or is it entirely up to the student?
• Is the curriculum practical enough, or is it heavily theory-based?
• Looking back, would you choose Mechatronics at CIT again?

I'm not looking for marketing answers or "my department is the best". I'd really appreciate the honest opinions and views even if it is terrible.

Even if you're from ECE, Mechanical, or another department, I'd really appreciate your perspective on how the Mechanical/Mechatronics department compares. Feel free to be brutally honest—I can take it

Have to choose between kct Cse and cit chennai Cse, which should i prefer, my tnea rank is around 5k, I wanna know about placements (highest and median), culturals, life, hostel and food in cit, I’ve also seen a post which states that cit gives international placements and Internships, is it true? Does it have language centres and will they help us prepare for ms abroad (IELTS And GRE)
