New candle, and a question for those who use warmers!
I was debating whether or not to spend $120 on a candle because I already spend so much on fragrances, and I almost bought a dupe, but something possessed to me to pull the trigger, partially because I use a warmer and my candles all last a very long time. I don't know much about candles, but it fills the room with scent nicely without being overbearing, and it looks wonderful under the warmer. Very happy with the purchase! On a side note, this is a new warmer to replace an old one that I got tired of, and the instructions said to pour out wax after every 5-6 uses. Is this something I have to do? It feels wasteful. And how much wax exactly?
Have been burning those tiny 3.5 hour ikea candles in the bathroom for a year or more, for better atmosphere. The left overs and saved in a pasta sauce jar. recently it got full so I melt it into a big candle, very excited to light this abomination, smells alright.
I’m experimenting with pearl/sand wax and was wondering if anyone has experience adding color to it.
I’d like to keep the granular texture while giving it a subtle tint.
- What type of dye works best?
- Does the color affect how it burns?
- Any tips to avoid clumping or uneven coloring?
Would love to hear what has worked for you.
I made these cinnamon orange olive oil candles a little while ago.
Just sharing. Anybody else use their candles as giant wax melts so they last longer?
Alright, I have a weird request here.
I'm an avid player of Dungeons and Dragons, and when I play, I like to burn candles that have scents relating to my characters.
For example, my last character, a paladin of flame, used a candle scented like toasted marshmallows.
My newest character is a devoted cleric of Lolth, and spent their entire life in the underdark.
Think cold, damp, decaying earth, mushrooms, petrichor, incense.
Does anyone have any ideas as to a candle that has that kind of scent profile? Everything I can find has some sort of element that will create a warmer scent, but I don't want that.
Help a girl out?
walmart sold this candle back in 2020 and it never returned i have yet to smell anything similar if anyone knows a good similar candle pls let me know! :)
I know next to none about wax warmers. I use leftover candle wax in my melter and all I smell is hot ceramic. This is over 10 years old and I wonder if it needs to me tossed. I noticed red wax on the bottom on the hot plate… I can’t tell you the last time I had red wax. So, I’m guessing there’s a crack and wax is leaking though.
Now… should I toss the whole thing? Base and all? Replace just the wax holder part (is this even possible?).
Are there safer units now that doesn’t use a wildly hot light bulb?
Any tips would be much appreciated!
More Info: Better Homes and Gardens Wax Melter. It was bought around 2013-2016ish.
Today was a beautiful day at the Marietta market.
I’ve come across Lemuria quite a bit on Reddit and would love to give it a try. Which scents are their most
popular ones and which scents do you like best?

I have a large jar candle from Yankee Candle, every time I use it the flames go very small/dim in less than an hour. Anything I can do to fix this? Sorry for the low quality pics, it was hard to get a good photo!
Picked up some Yankee Candles at an estate sale and they were satisfactory. I've since bought retail. But I was at the store and saw a brand, Wood Wicks. Burns very evenly and the actual wooden wick makes a crackling sound similar to a light rain on you windows. Easily the equal of Yankee. I wonder if there are other brands you all would recommend that burn evenly and completely in a similar price range to these two?
I’m looking to try something new outside of the usual known premium brands mentioned here. Unique themes, scents, or designs would be great! $30-50 price range.
Enchanted woods is my current favorite 🤭
Anyone have an insight on their performance and fragrances?
Bought this candle made by Freshne. Made out of soy/coconut wax blend. After about 20 min or so these circles appear. Never have seen something like this before.
Came out like a penis . I think I used too much wax.
Melted old candles and made a coffee candle . Tried one out. It smells really good.
