The bottom lounge

Has anyone had luck meeting a band after a show at the bottom lounge? I’ll be going later this month and trying to figure out where I should wait after a show and if I even have a shot. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Fitzgeralds tips?

Going to my first show at Fitzgeralds. It's sold out, in the "historic nightclub" part (there is another sold out show outdoors the same night).
What do I need to know? I'll be coming from downtown, and want to get to the neighborhood early so as not to miss any of the action, get in when doors open to get some merch, etc. Is there a nearby place to hang out and have some decent food/drink? I know they have food there but not sure which part of the place I can get into that evening before doors open, if any.

Thanks for any guidance you can offer!

United Center: best section for 100 level?

I haven't been to a concert in ages and I haven't been to the United Center before. I want something in the 100 level section from most wanted to least: 110, 102, 112, 103, 109, or 121.

I'm afraid of being too close to the stage because the music may be too loud. Am I right about that? But I still want decent sound quality.

I also heard floor seats can be a pain if you're shorter than the person in front of you.

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

view at wrigley

Hey! I have a concert at Wrigley Field this month and was wondering if anyone’s sat in field section AA and has a picture from their seat? I’m trying to get an estimate of how much i’ll be able to see

Anybody got any tips for not dying of heatstroke at The Salt Shed Fairgrounds?

I'm going to the Smino/Wale show tomorrow night and it's supposed to be 93 degrees when the show starts. I could think of worse ways to die than listening to Amphetamine, but I'm not ready to go quite yet.

Anyone have any hot weather concert hacks, or Salt Shed specific tips for staying (somewhat) cool?

Edit Wednesday morning: Thank you so much for your tips everybody! Much love to the r/ChicagoConcerts community!

Monthly Buy/Sell/Trade Thread - July 2026

Use this monthly thread for all your transactional needs. Feel free to post what you have and what you want for any show date, not just shows taking place this month.

---

BUYING TICKETS

• IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY TICKETS, post the name of the show and the date in your comment.

• BUYER SAFETY- Report anything that seems fishy/scammy.

• If you are buying from someone on here please check out their post history. If they are a brand new account and they haven’t posted anything aside from a ticket sales comment chances are they are trying to scam someone. Obviously this isn’t always the case. But if I were buying a ticket I’d feel more comfortable buying from someone who has been active on here for a while.

• I would highly advise against paying with Venmo, CashApp, wire transfer, etc.

• If you pay with PayPal make sure you pay as goods/services NOT as a gift.

• REMOVE YOUR COMMENT AFTER YOU HAVE BOUGHT TICKETS!

---

SELLING TICKETS

If you have tickets that you are looking to exchange or sell for FACE VALUE, do it here. Please read the following rules before posting:

• DO NOT SELL TICKETS OVER FACE VALUE – This is against r/ChicagoConcerts rules, convictions, philosophy, morals. We’re about the music… man. See Craigslist or StubHub if you’re trying to make some cash. You will be banned if caught selling above face. Please report any posts that are above face value!

• DON’T POST YOUR PERSONAL INFO - Please don’t add your phone number or email in this thread, if you end up getting a buyer/seller send all that info through DM’s. This is only to protect you and is a site-wide rule!

• REMOVE YOUR COMMENT WHEN YOU’VE SOLD OR TRADED!

• Everyone always talks about being scammed while buying a ticket, but you can also be scammed while selling a ticket. It doesn’t happen as often, but it’s still possible.

• Keep in mind that transactions on PayPal (maybe other platforms as well? I’ve heard stories about Venmo) can always be reported as fraudulent.

---

PLEASE USE ABSOLUTE DATES!

This thread is up for a month at a time. Using relative dates like "today" or "next Tuesday" are useless. So do something like, "Selling 2 tix to Oingo Boingo for 12/12/29" or "Selling 2 tix to Oingo Boingo for December 12, 2029", instead.

---

We will do our best to keep this thread cleaned of scammers, but please realize all transactions are out of our control. Please be kind and be safe.

Hi. This is a general concert question for seating. I’m thinking of exchanging my seats for the ones circled in green but they’re more off to the side than the ones I have currently which are close to the catwalk (circled in red). If you had a choice, which seats would you choose red or green?

Taste of Chicago?

Has anyone been to the taste of Chicago in recent years? There’s a band my daughter (10YO) and I like playing and they play at 7 o’clock but I wasn’t sure what the scene is there these days.

In the evenings would it take a long time to get through security? Is it even worth dealing with the “madness” (if there is any) in order to go see a show? Any insights would be helpful!

Thanks!

FREE: Two tickets for Kurt Vile tonight (6/26) Salt Shed INDOORS

Row F, seats 9 and 10. Please let me know if you want them and I can sent up a transfer. In looking at the times for the openers, he likely won't go on until 10:30 and that's too late for this almost 50 year old teacher.

ETA: Thank you everyone who told me the correct time! Tragically, I told my daughter and her best friend we would go see Supergirl and get dinner and my fear of two tweens outweighs my desire to see Kurt this time.

Anyone at the ruoff (deer creek) show take a picture of the seats? I heard it was all new in the pavilion and am thinking of attending another show later this season.

Good pics or opinions?

Bag Policy @ Huntington Bank Pavilion?

Hi! I’m going to be traveling this weekend to see at show at Huntington Bank Pavilion. I’m curious to know how strict their bag policy is? I read their policy on the website and was wondering if they would allow one of these small belt bags in? It would be a black lululemon belt bag. My local venue says they don’t allow these bags but they’ve always let me in with it. Anyone have experience with this?TIA!
