Colored a Mermaid using Pointer Normal Markers for 5$ bucks. Does it look good?

I bought some markers brand Pointer. I later found out they have a line for Alcohol Markers, named Art Pro. (will see if I get to try them)

Is it popular on your countries?

I did not like the experience tho. haha I prefer the Alcohol Markers like Ohuhu or Touch.

Only polychromos

I just discovered this subreddit, it's so cool, and there's more than only cozy books stuff (no offense).

Kaleidomorphia Kerby Rosanes

This is for the book KALEIDOMORPHIA Celebrating Kerby Rosanes's Coloring Challenges

As the title implies this is a collection of different illustrations from his morphia series. If you have any of those books and purchased this one you will recognize a few of the illustrations.

The front few pages are beautiful glossy depictions of some of the illustrations done by coloring hobbyist like us. (Instagram) The uncolored version is included later in the book. The implication is the colored pages are the challenges.

I will say that Kerby Rosanes is one of my favorite artists and this book is no different in that regard. Each illustration is rich in detail and imagination. I can easily see myself spending days on the two page spreads.

The physical aspect of the book is good for the most part with some dissapointments. The paper is a card stock that immediately feels like quality. However the images are double sided not single sided so using pens or markers might be risky despite the card stock.

The images also extend into the binding wich is maddening when trying to color and a pet peeve of mine. They also extend to the absolute end of the page on some images. It goes without saying the pages are not perforated either.

All in all if your a Kerby fan this is a good find!

New books!

So I got 3 new coloring books for Mother’s Day!
I love my RJ Hampson, as always! This one is filled with such great and unique illustrations! This book doesnt follow a “storyline” it’s just an amazing collection he’s put together!

The tracing one is really lovely! I like that it’s not a single author but from a compilation of authors (this is the information I found from the publisher). I love that it can be just tracing , or treat it as a “no outline” coloring page! In some of the pages, the “lack of detail” on the images, leaves me room to create and personalize the image to my own liking! I think the paper’s decent, no worse than the coco wyo books!

The final book I warn you now, I don’t need the negative opinion. It’s probably AI. But it IS cute. And is it the worst AI? Good lord no, it’s honestly just tiny little things here and there that anyone can fix with a pen or whatever.

All were from Amazon around $10!

Imagimorphia by Kerby Rosanes

My very first Rosanes book! I have been eyeing his books for a while now, but they are so intricate that I was intimidated by the thought of trying to color them. I'm so happy I finally bought one of his books. I bought mine used on Abebooks.com and unfortunately, the pages are coming loose.

On to the review...the art in this book is pretty freaking cool! There are even some steampunk ones that I can't wait to tackle! The pages are thick, but are not one-sided, so they are not safe for pens or markers. Coloring his art is a labor of patience & love. What I have found (so far) that works for me is to color all the greenery first. Then I can focus on all the little details & "see" them easier. Breaking up the pages into small sections also helps me not get overwhelmed by all the details.

I absolutely recommend this book. There are "easier" pages in it to get you started while you work up to the more intricate drawings. If you have or buy this book, let me know what you think about it! Happy coloring! 🫶

Just finished this coloring page and turned one of my black-and-white childhood memories into colors

I still remember how she used to give me the “Razor Haircut” yes she gave the name to the disaster haircuts

And … I was the victim every single time.

This page honestly feels so nostalgic and wholesome to color. It brought back those chaotic but precious childhood memories in the most comforting way

It’s been a while since I enjoyed coloring!🥹

I’ve been busy for the past couple of months, and I really missed coloring🥹
So I decided to join this weekly challenge even though the palette wasn’t my usual go-to style. I’m not 100% satisfied with the result, but it still felt so good to come back to this hobby! ✨💕
