the yellow gold is a 3.5ct elongated radiant and the white gold is a 5ct radiant. I want a bigger stone so the minimum size I’d go for is probably a 3ct! These aren’t the designs of rings I like, I just tried on a bunch of different stones to see which cut I like most and I fell in love with radiants! out of the two, I like the band style of the yellow gold a lot more because it’s still simple but not too dainty

I got engaged about a year ago with a dainty, engraved 10K gold signet ring, and I still absolutely love it. I’ve never been much of a jewelry person, so I told my now-fiancé that if he ever proposed, I didn’t want a ring with a big stone on it.

The only thing that bothers me is how some people react when they see my ring. They’ll say, “It’s cute,” but sometimes it feels like they’re actually feeling sorry for me because it doesn’t have a big diamond.

This is my 1 carat marquise lab diamond just how I dreamed about it, can’t wait to wear it!!

original jeweler, Liori, produced a ring (not pictured) that had diamonds falling out every other day. when I explained situation and asked for an exchange of same setting, I was told they no longer offer that setting.

wanting to keep the original design, as my fiance had picked out himself, I had a different jeweler recreate the setting. it is almost identical (pictured) but has a very high/thick shank.

now as it’s time to find a wedding band, I am having a hard time finding one that doesn’t sit incredibly lower than the e-ring. employees at jeweler suggest I get a larger band (size 5) so that it can be soldered to smaller e-ring (size 4.25) while sitting flush to it. when I picked it up last week it was huge on my finger, they suggested speed bumps as to not stress the ring anymore and pictured is the result. What are your opinions and/or advice?

So I bought an 18K yellow gold 3 stone e ring from Rare carat with a lab diamond back in May for which I got a lot of help from all of you (thank you!)

Due to some personal reasons the ring sat in the box after the proposal for about 3 months, as you can see there are no scratches due to any wear since it wasn’t worn.

To my surprise when I opened the box as I was packing it, the ring seemed ‘pinker’ than what is was. I noticed some oxidation/rusting at ent seems to be solder spots.

I reached out to rare carat and they gave me the usual spiel that skin chemistry/perfumes/lotions can cause this but I pushed back that the ring wasn’t worn and other gold items of 18 and 14 k we have not become pink in all these years, some pieces have been worn daily. So they suggested to send the ring back for inspection.

Now they’re saying it seems to be an oxidation issue which is no big deal, some polish and cleaning should sort it out and we should be good.

Except I don’t think we will be good, the polish will wear off and the whole ring will oxidize meaning that the gold quality and/or the metal used for solder was of very low quality.

Despite all the positive reviews for rare carat which is why I ended up buying from there, I think this is not going to work for me. I have no use for getting the gold tested from another jeweler because at this point I’m really done with this, I don’t trust what they’ve put in the ring. Yes, their customer service is great but the ring is not and now I really just want to get my money back. If I push hard enough I think I can. Something that’s supposed to last a very long time has become link from not even wearing it only within 3 months, I don’t know how it would last through years.

What are your thoughts on this? What would you do and have you seen something like this?

some people say the pale color gets lost unless you put halo diamonds around it, but I really prefer a minimalist setting. for anyone who picked this combination, would you choose a morganite engagement ring with a simple band again, or do you wish you went with a tougher gemstone instead?

I’m at a jewelry store looking at engagement rings, and I unexpectedly fell in love with this ruby ring. ❤️ It’s an 8x6 ruby set in 14k yellow gold, and I love the color and how unique it looks on my hand.

The problem is, I always pictured myself with a classic sparkly diamond solitaire. Now I’m wondering if I’ll regret choosing something less traditional. What do you think of the ruby’s color and size? I’m a size 5.5/51 for reference.

We originally had a fixed budget for an engagement ring, but going with a lab grown diamond let us get way better specs than expected. We got a 2.10ct princess cut, D color, VVS1 clarity in a simple platinum band. It saved us thousands that we can put toward our home fund instead. honestly so happy we didn't spend double just for a mined gem.
