Jeweler Recommendations

My partner & I are beginning the process to find my dream engagement ring. Not going to lie - it’s a very intimidating process!

Looking for all jeweler recommendations or places to explore rings in Chicago. I have no exact idea on what style I am looking for yet. A few things I like are a bezel setting (half or full), low setting, prongs, portrait or crisscut, and I am currently leaning towards a slender oval / marquis shape.

Any recommendations on places to check out would be appreciated :)

Morganite

I received a Morganite ring a few months ago but sadly it gets cloudy and hazy. I used Palmolive dish soap to clean it however it gets cloudy again after a while... do you think it was a bad choice going for a Morganite? I dont regret having it in fact I love it! I just wish it was more sparkly...

Seeking advice regarding my engagement ring.

Should I wear it with my wedding band or alone? My wedding band is an antique and my engagement ring is brand new so they’re not exactly matching. If wearing each alone, which fingers do each ring go on? Please forgive the nails, in need of a fresh manicure 🫣. Thanks!

I’m scared I don’t like my engagement ring that I designed

I thought I knew what I wanted when we went ring shopping but I liked absolutely nothing. They all looked super weird on my hand. We designed something, we were excited about it but now that it’s all finished I still think it looks super weird on my hand and I don’t know if I like it?? Redesigning it seems like a nightmare, I hated that whole process. Every ring I see on people just looks so “them” and I just don’t feel that way about mine. WHAT DO I DO 😭😭 did anyone else’s ring feel weird on them at first or do I just really not like it?

The lady's color is purple, mine is blue. Would having the center gem in blue be bad?

Title. I'm starting to pick out designs and this one really caught my eye since I dont like the big solo gem types plus it fits my girl's style more. The thing is her favorite color is purple while mine is blue and I thought that having the center gem in my colors would be nice and as a bit of possessiveness I guess...

For context Ive gifted her a few pairs of earrings and the ones that have both blue and purple are what she consistenty wears when we're together.

Not sure if that would affect rings like would it take away that my color is the center of the ring and not about her or does it have a hidden meaning that Im not aware of or if it would just look bad/not even look like an engagement ring at all. Thanks for the advice
