Looking for games similar to Scratch Creek

Hey everyone,

So my girlfriend and I played through Scratch Creek and absolutely adored it, we had a fantastic time experiencing the separated horror segments and then linking back up again, and we are looking for a similar experience. We've played Phasmophobia, Resident evil, and all of the games from the it takes 2 devs, and I'm curious if there are any other games, short or long, that you all recommend.

Making the games connect kinda ruins the point of the story

The whole point of fears to fathom is viewer submitted stories that obviously have no connection to each other so for rayll to now make the games one big overarching story (which i’m sure will continue into the seventh game) twists the submitted story and doesn’t stay true to the point of the series.

Cultists were not on their A-game that night

Love the game, had a blast—but these might be the dumbest villains in the series. A breakdown of their master plan:

  • Tess and Marcus arrive at Bill and Charlotte's defenseless. Easy kidnapping at gunpoint. But, sure, let’s send them to the inn.
  • Easy opportunities to pick them off while separated. Instead, let’s just very obviously unlock the window in their room and trap Marcus in the basement.
  • Oh shoot, Marcus found our murder tunnel. Let’s just leave that unlocked too.
  • And why quietly use the skeleton key while they sleep when we could smash a window and give them a generous head start?
  • Backup guys posted everywhere... except the unlocked murder tunnel.
  • But don’t worry, “they can’t get far” right, Buck? Except you left their car totally chilling in the driveway, wires intact, unguarded!

So yeah no wonder the other guy got away. They need to bring back that guy from Ironbark Lookout who ran like six miles in 30 seconds after his photo got taken.

Did anyone else notice this in Ironbark Lookout?

I walked backwards from before the bridge (when you are walking to the tower for the first time) and saw this.

anybody else see this in ep. 4?

so where you are walking towards the campsite in the Lacey trail, you can see this on the sign...

Case file update: Woodbury Getaway is not beating the eating / toilet sound allegations.

I saw a random comment recently about the dev’s… very specific audio priorities when it comes to eating and bathroom sounds.

At the time, I figured it was just Reddit doing Reddit things. Then I started recording Woodbury Getaway and found this in the settings menu before the game even began.

As an unbiased investigator, I can only say this:

The evidence is concerning.
The toggles are real.
The archive remains open.

Honestly though, this is exactly the kind of weirdly specific detail that makes Fears to Fathom feel so uncomfortable in the first place. The horror starts before you even press play.

Why was conner exposing himself?

So as we know that park ranger who was following marcus and tessa at the end was conner hawkins from tower 12 ironbark state park. But why was he not wearing any mask like others and just staight up exposing himself to marcus and Tessa its very werid that every other cult member is wearing mask to hide their faces even harry and bobby while conner comes with no mask and his park ranger outfit. Marcus and Tessa can expose him to the authorities they have seen his face and his park ranger outfit he even has badge of c.hawkins in his outfit even revealing his name

Ranking as a viewer

  1. Carson House - Most fun to watch and the scariest. Did not suspect the gf to be the culprit. The atmosphere is one of the best I've ever seen .

  2. Scratch Creek - Lots of work put into it and the coop parts were scary and well done. Could be 1 too but I just think Carson House just delivered so well.

  3. Ironbark lookout. - The only one I've played bc it's

On console. Maybe the best overall. I think the ending was a little far fetched and maybe why it's not higher . I think Night watch from puppet combo did this setting azt better

  1. Woodbury Getaway- Honestly could be higher than 3. A lot of work was put in but some of the things that happened were hard to explain. Also Mike was annoying af

  2. Norwood hitchhike- very good imo and underrated. The story and characters were good . The main thing was it was very short and there were not a lot of gameplay things put into it .

  3. Home Alone - Pretty good but im sure if you asked Rayll, he'd say this is the worse one . Not bad but short and it was his first game and was testing the waters.

What's everyone's favourite little details they discovered in the games?

I think mine would have to be right at the beginning of Ironbark Lookout, when I decided to turn the R.V around instead of continuing forward and was met with "I was second guessing my decision to transfer" followed by "I went back"

After that the menu screen loads as if that were the end of the game, so I technically completed Ironbark in under twenty seconds

Fears to Fathom: Scratch Creek is underrated

Despite the glitches during launch (which were mostly caused by players and streamers breaking the game by jumping around the map and ignoring the intended progression), I think Scratch Creek is an excellent game and one of the best in the series.
The voice acting was a huge step up. Every character felt believable, especially during emotional moments. Whether they were scared, angry, or suspicious, the performances felt natural. Harry is a great example, he comes across as someone who’s simply wary of outsiders but still wants to help. As the story unfolds, you realize he’s trapped under Bill’s control, which makes his character even more interesting.
I also love how the game connects to Ironbark Lookout. There are several subtle references, like watchtowers and ironbark signs visible in the distance, the town of Roseburg being mentioned again, and Marcus and Tessa talking about a new diner near Roseburg, which is likely the same diner from Ironbark Lookout. These little details make the world feel connected.
The atmosphere was also one of the game’s biggest strengths. Even when nothing was actively happening, I constantly felt like someone was watching me. Moments like the tree falling, walking across the bridge to the parsonage, or simply stepping outside created an incredible sense of tension.
One thing I don’t see many people mention is the chain of events involving Buck’s truck. First, you see it near the house where the tree falls. Later, you hear the horn and the same truck follows you near the motel. Then you encounter it again at the auto shop. It’s kind of a subtle way of showing that you’re being watched long before the game tells you.
The mission where you’re sent to the unknown house is another highlight I love. You arrive, see the Confederate flag outside, hear the old woman yelling “Billy boy!”, and immediately feel uneasy because you have no idea what’s waiting for you. The game also constantly makes you question who you can trust. Bill gives you a flashlight and seems helpful. Harry tries to repair your car before falling victim to Buck’s plan. The uncertainty keeps you on edge throughout the story.
I also liked how co-op separates the players. Instead of staying together the whole time, each player has to handle different situations without knowing if the other person is okay. Scenes like Miss Julia catching you downstairs, exploring the church tunnels, and eventually returning to Bill’s house after the chase even more intense. By the end, you realize how connected everybody was, and it makes the entire story feel much more satisfying.
So I think Scratch Creek deserves a lot more credit than it gets. It has some of the best atmosphere, strongest characters, and fantastic Easter eggs in the series. If it hadn’t launched with technical issues, and people using the game wrong, I think more people would be calling it the best Fears to Fathom episode so far.
