Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty
🌉 Marble Bridge (Marmorbro), Copenhagen 🌉
We said "yes" here, standing on Marble Bridge as the canal moved quietly beneath us and the city seemed to pause. Built to impress royal guests centuries ago, this bridge has watched history survive fire, time, and change with calm confidence. It felt like the right place to begin something lasting. Surrounded by marble, lanterns, and copper rooftops, the moment felt grounded rather than overwhelming. Not rushed, not loud, just steady and certain. The kind of beauty that eases the heart and makes room for what matters.
This piece is a way to bring that feeling home. It offers more than a view of Copenhagen. It holds a reminder of commitment, patience, and shared direction. A visual pause you can return to when life feels busy or uncertain.

How famous and collectible are Francis Vannerum’s paintings?
A beautiful painting we own, circa 1650
A very wonderful painting from around 1650, that we bought at a now long-defunct religious antique shop. It brings tears to my eyes.

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty
I first met Whoop the Balloon when everything around me felt a little too serious, like the world was speaking in sharp corners. Whoop drifted in with a soft, squeaky little sound, like air slipping through a playful whistle, and there was a faint sweetness in the air like spun sugar left too long in the sun. Whoop is an airhead in the gentlest way, thoughts floating off mid sentence, ditzy enough that even gravity seems optional, and so aloof that it is never quite clear whether I am being noticed or simply enjoyed from a distance.
Being around Whoop makes my mind feel lighter, like I do not have to grip every idea so tightly just to keep it from running away. When things get noisy or complicated, Whoop offers a strange kind of calm, bumping into problems with a soft bounce that turns frustration into laughter instead of friction. I like keeping Whoop close for those moments when I want life to feel less heavy and more playful, almost like carrying a pocket of drifting air that reminds me not everything needs control or certainty.
If you had a small companion who could turn your heaviest moments into something light enough to float away, how would you bring Whoop along with you into your day?

💜 Lavender Farm 💜
Our bikes race up and down the gentle hills of Provence. Everything has a distinct texture, the colors are vibrant, and the perfume in the air is intoxicating. Every twisting road reveals new rows of lavender stretching endlessly under the sun. I will never forget the fields of France.
Art is more than something pretty on a wall. It carries feelings, memories, and a little bit of hope.
Eugene Boudin
Hello! I do not have photos as I am posting on behalf of an older client and I am not asking for authenticity or an appraisal. I am a private client insurance advisor. I have a client who inherited a painting and he was told it is an Eugène Boudin piece. He simply wants guidance on the best way to have it authenticated.
Through some research, I am finding that Brame & Lorenceau Gallery is probably the best place to start as Robert Schmidt, who authored the catalogue raisonné on Boudin has passed away. I also looped in an art specialist from a premier carrier who says he found through his network that Robert’s son took over the catalogue raisonné on Boudin, but believes he also passed away.
Essentially the specialist advised authentication is extremely complicated as Robert and his son have passed. He completely ignored my main question which was if Brame & Lorenceau Gallery is the best source to assist with authentication.
I reiterated my question again and all he said was “I recommend a US dealer experienced in the Impressionist market partly because communication may be more streamlined, and I thought that the gallery you referenced had not replied to your inquiry. Please let me know if you need further assistance.”
When I had emailed this specialist, I forwarded my inquiry to Brame & Lorenceau Gallery and their response with the authentication process which they provided within 24 hours to the specialist, so I’m assuming he wasn’t listening to anything I was asking. This specialist held high positions at various galleries prior to joining this team, so I don’t understand how he is providing such vague guidance, but I digress.
Does anyone have an opinion on whether Brame & Lorenceau Gallery is the best avenue to pursue? I will greatly value any advice, opinions, or feedback. This could truly just be a difficult situation and I’m in the wrong for thinking there is someone out there that can assist with this situation.
Please also let me know if you think this should be cross posted elsewhere and thank you in advance.
Golden Raspberry
“Golden Raspberry”
Acrylic on canvas, 12” x 12”
On her sweet sixteen she received the best and most puzzling present she had ever seen - a giant golden raspberry. Then she noticed a tiny note from the absent father who she was sure had forgotten: “Even though I’m far away, I think of you every day and love you always, forever, my dear sweet child”.
Of course she loved it. No one in the world had such a gift, luscious and ripe, ready to share. She would have traded ten more, though, for a glimpse from him.
She folded the note, handed it to her mother, and turned back to her party.
