Is fingerboarding worth getting into?

I'm gonna be honest, i've been seeing a bunch of fingerboarding reels over the last few weeks and it looks like a lot of fun. I've never skateboarded but something about this really catches my attention.

I have a few questions (which can be personal but i'd like your answer anyway)

  1. Did anyone here get into it without ever skateboarding or being interested in skateboarding.
  2. Does it get boring after a while?
  3. If you do it solo all the time does it get boring?
  4. Is it an expensive hobby or not much one you have the setup?

Do bearings wear down in your pocket

I’ve seen some mentions of people not putting their wheels in their pockets because it ruins the bearings or something? is this true? and what if I want to keep my board in my pocket should I have a bag?

Which board is the best starter?

I think these are the big 3 for starters.
Also would like to mention slushcult they have really good completes. But these are purely off Amazon , which, any other suggestions outside of Amazon are appreciated. Of course I'm only making this for people that are just starting the hobby and finding something affordable and accessible. Cheers , happy rides and if you're just starting out best of luck and have fun 🔥🔥

Beginner

Hello!
I am looking for a good cheap fingerboard to use instead of a tech deck. I was looking at black river, does the beginner change much?

Need help! Paid for brt 3.0 (reputable seller) literally got 2.0 brt in 3.0 brt box...what should i expect to reslolve?

The title says it all...i bought these trucks like a month or so ago. Saved em. Just set up my complete. Realized no embossed logo. Pulled my other sets out. The baseplate is thinner but still says blackriver and they are legit 2.0. I don't feel i got scammed intentionally or counterfeit. I just feel that blackriver, in all their glory. Mixed up 2.0 in a 3.0 brt box by accident. We are all human. But what should i expect when reaching out to this reputable retailer, that many are familiar with (i am withholding the name) if after the 4th i get ghosted or no resolve is met i may post. But i am genuinely curious what i should expect? I just set up my complete after having these trucks for a month + maybe a tad longer, left em still in the package and just built my complete and now I'm bummed. I should have realized this before threading the baseplates and set em up. But i have not even kick flipped yet 😭 HELP & HAPPY 4TH!!!!!!!!!!! (IM NERVOUS to even post pics of the setup) I dunno why, i just feel dumb this is after many brt setups and i guess now i should always check to make sure! I have been buying pro fb stuff for five years (introduced to tech deckS 20+ years ago) but only had three issues in everything i have bought (issue with wheels-sent back & replaced) issue with kraken trucks-REPUTABLE SELLER ALSO -TOLD ME TO contact kraken-ok wtf i thought i bought em from you! Kraken has no email on site, tried to hit em up on insta no responce-said they arent shipping to usa (at the time maybe still) but tell me how kraken sent a FRESH HUGE new shipment to the same retailer and they literally replenished the site and others have same issues-so avoid-i have details if requested lol) and third- this current issue....i said that to mean i have bought a lot of stuff and to only have 3 issues i am blessed and lucky for. Oh and of course misaligned countersinks on a number of pro priced / pro company decks i wont name- which i fix myself by carving put countersinks. ...also meaning if i can fix it myself i will...sorry for my non emotional charged vent of factual, non opinion explanation and thanks for reading...just am bummed as its 4th of July and i live for fingerboarding, it saved my life and i am reclusive , no friends, and really was stoked to finally build my setup. THANKS AGAIN ALL!🙏

Wheel and trucks recommendations

getting back into it, ik about the big companies like br and dynamic but I can't justify that much for a fingerboard but I also don't want the mass produced cheap bs. Any recommendations?

Hey it’s been bout six months and I’m having trouble! Any advice? I over shoot kickflips and when I don’t the slightly lean to the left. Also I’m having trouble keeping my middle finger on the board before popping. I feel my fingers are too close together when I land.

C4 caramel trucks thoughts

Been using the 32mm c4 caramel trucks and they feel interesting. My personal gripe is that they feel a little bit too loose. Also I feel that these trucks don’t really look good on certain decks, I feel that they look best on blank decks. They are also slightly wider which I somewhat enjoyed. These are all just personal preference I guess the main one being they just feel too loose.

Even they are higher so they feel they work well for low molds.

Have any of y’all tried these trucks? What’s y’all thoughts?

My last setup from middle school

Yellowood P6 32mm w/flatface g4 single bearing.

Wish I still had all my old setups. I was thinking about this stuff yesterday, found this subreddit and have been reading.

My favorite board of all time I lost on an airplane, left it in the seat pocket and remembered like 2 hours later. Lowpro Beehoney. Can't remember what I traded for it at one of the early Flatface rendezvous.

Also had an absolute synthetic for a bit, it was clapped but I loved it lol

I see things are different now adays, alot more companies, wider boards, lots of aftermarket trucks available. Its interesting looking at this stuff again.
