I spent a lot of time building my combat patrol and a few other kits I’d received, but have recently, finally, started painting. Going between Flesh Tearers and Blood Angels, and this is one of my first ever painted models. Outside of seeing some of the brush strokes from my layering, I’m super happy with how he came out. I love the dark tones of the Flesh Tearers colors. Definitely looking forward to painting more!

I know I said I wouldn’t post constant progress pics, but this is more of a plea if anyone has a transfer they’re willing to donate for my project 😭 it doesn’t even have to be complete! I have a lot of space wolves transfers and am willing to trade but I do not wanna buy a whole new kit or a $20 sheet on eBay just for this one project. Otherwise, enjoy my progress!

Really enjoyed working with the Greytide stuff. Makes it look a bit more like the old firstborn kit.

I’m not gonna post every single day of progress, but I just wanna show this little bit plus the difference between 2 and 4 stages of highlighting in the last 3 pics!

Played in the biggest event our city has every year. Went 1-2 the first day beating necrons game 1 but loosing to ultramarines and necrons in 2 and 3, bounced back going 2-1 on day 2 beating Emperors children in 4, got crushed by triple defiler thousand sons in 5 and capped off the weekend with a win against chaos knights.
Every opponent I had was great and overall the whole event was fantastic. It’s my last tournament for 10th edition so the plan now is to bang out as many units as I can before 11th so I can have the army ready to go as soon as the new edition drops!

I read the feedback I got and I used it to help me create this handsome chap, and fix my other minis aswell.

Still struggling with black abit, but Im getting there. Also tried to make the eyes seem more, glowey? Tell me how I did and how to improve haha

Just finish. The varnish is drying in some sections. I'm really proud if it. 3d printed on PLA and some resin pieces. I know theres some print lines. But I like the way it turned out. I should add some company ID / fast stack symbol. But another time.

Honest question. Why is this helmet except from the ultramarines not being worn anymore in 40k? It seems like in the horus heresy era every chapter was rocking this sick helmet. I wanted to use one for my bladeguards of my flesh tearers army but it feels somewhat odd. Is there maybe an explanation in the lore? And what would your opinion be for still using this helmet.
