Any jobs in the area?
Hello everyone, I had just got laid off recently from my job, are there any full time jobs that are available? My experience is in retail and administration, and I don’t have a degree as of yet. Please let me know, thanks!

This is our first FH show, and we have pit night one. Should we get there in the morning to get wristbands? We fly in at 9, so we’d have our luggage and all. Wondering if it’s worth it. I’d rather go early and get wristbands if that’s an option. Help! Thanks friends 🐊🤘🏼🖤
I started the Maspeth/Ridgewood Mutual after I started putting stuff outside that my family did not want anymore and we couldn't sell on the Marketplace. I noticed the items would disappear and my neighbors would bring items to replace them. My friend who helps shut ins in Glendale brings over whatever food she has left and leaves that on the table for people to take who visit my mutual aid table.
Thursday August 6th, I received 6 deliveries of donations (clothes, food, toys, housewares, books, DVDs). By Saturday August 8th the table is empty.
Items that are in high demand:
FOOD FOR PEOPLE OR PETS
CLOTHES
TOILETRIES
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
DIAPERS FOR BABIES & ADULTS
TOYS
BACK PACKS, LUNCH BOXES & POCKET BOOKS
Books really don't go on my table, so when I get a donation of them I wait a few days then I bring them down to the Little Free Library in PS 153's school yard.
Donations can be dropped off, and you can take what you need 24 hours a day & 7 days a week:
5938 60TH ROAD, MASPETH
Donations can be dropped off at certain businesses during business hours. Just label them Maspeth/Ridgewood Mutual Aid Table.
ASSEMBLYMAN STEVEN RAGA'S OFFICE, 60-14 QUEENS BLVD., CELLAR, WOODSIDE
COOK'S ARTS & CRAFTS SHOPPE, 80-09 MYRTLE AVE., GLENDALE

STATE SENATOR JOSEPH ADDABBO'S OFFICE, 66-85 73RD PLACE, MIDDLE VILLAGE
HARISCH STUDIOS, 57-44 MYRTLE AVE., 2ND FLOOR, RIDGEWOOD
For people who cannot donate in person I created an Amazon Wishlist:
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/JY7U8QQZ8BBU?REF\_=wl\_share
Thank you for all donations. And if you are near the Maspeth/Ridgewood border and are in need please check out table and take what you need. No questions asked. Please spread the word. Thanks.
I just moved from a house with a washer and dryer to a space that doesn’t have a washer and dryer, and the laundromat that was recommended to me that is about a block from my new home is actually closed on Wednesdays. I absolutely must do a wash today or early this evening, so I’m looking for recommendations of laundromats that are clean and spacious — and ideally somewhere in proximity to Nansen Street and 71st Ave. (I don’t have a car.)
It’s hard to speak abt but I’m uploading this for safety purposes for those who travel frequently around floral park station area
I'm looking for an old-school appliance or television repairperson. I turned on my tv yesterday and the screen lit up a little bit but there's no picture. There is sound. My wife and I have done all the usual troubleshooting steps:
*Unplug>Wait>Plug back in
*Unplug>Hold down power button>Plug back in
*Reset the tv
Nothing has worked. We are measuring the cost/benefit of getting a new tv vs. trying to fix this one. The actual mechanics of taking this apart, fixing, and putting it back together is beyond our skillset. I know this is kind of a rare fixit job, but does anyone have any repair services that might be able to help us not junk the set? Thanks!
hey guys! selling my entire work from home set up. haven’t had any luck on FB/etc. bc no one wants to come out to queens to pick it up, ugh.
the desk has a white glass top, a built-in drawer, a wireless phone charging port, and a digital height adjustment controller (goes up to 4ft). 47.5in across
two 25-inch curved monitors are mounted on a dual-arm stand that allows for extension and retraction. office chair also included.
moving out next week so need this out of my apt asap!
I bought this a week ago FYI :( not trying to start any major commentary/backlash - just informing you all!
Somebody threw eggs at Masani and even the owners' car.
Was it one of you?
This would be such a fantastic market for a high end gym to push into new territory.
Equinox, Lifetime etc…
When NYSC closed it was a shame, but I was half hoping some bigger luxury gym would fill the space.
Now we have nothing but a shitty “24 hour” fitness with no A/C or Heating.
And a newer but teenage broccoli head overrun planet fitness that is extremely over crowded.
Here’s to hoping some exec at one of these established gyms sees this.
If you care to join me I’ve been unfruitfully emailing lifetime and equinox bi-weekly to express interest in them considering our neighborhood, lmao.
Hi neighbors! It’s been a little while since we’ve posted here, so we wanted to reintroduce Forest Hills Social to anyone who’s new to the neighborhood—or just hasn’t made it out to one of our events yet!
Forest Hills Social is a casual monthly meetup created to bring people in the neighborhood together, meet new friends, and support our awesome local bars and restaurants. 🥂
We announce all socials on our Instagram page “ForestHillsSocial” and there is a link in our bio to RSVP on Partiful.
Just show up, grab a drink, and hang out with some fellow Forest Hills neighbors. Come solo, bring a friend, bring your partner…everyone is welcome!

See you in September, Forest Hills! 🍻❤️
Just looking for some clarification, are you allowed to bring in poster tubes like GruvTube or the ones you can get on Amazon into FHS? Or just cardboard ones?
Found older posts that say you can bring in tubes but doesn’t mention what type.
I’m considering buying a coop at Austin Gardens (75-02/73-44 Austin St). Has anyone heard anything about the building/has lived or owned there? Tried looking through similar posts in the sub and couldn’t find anything—appreciate any insights!
Hear loud Overhead sounds outside on burns ? Anyone else ?
I just got this in the mail. I will check it out tonight or tomorrow.
They might as well lose the case against the neighborhood and shut this venue down if that's the volume/bass they will give paying attendees. I'll never go to a show there or recommend again and it only takes me 10min of traveling.
I recently moved to Forest Hills from the Philly suburbs. I have a small suv that is still there for the time being, but I'm interested in bringing it here. I'll mostly only plan to drive on the weekends, but enjoy the flexibility. I'm on a wait list for a spot in my co-op building's garage, but it seems unlikely I'll get one any time soon since I'm a renter and they prioritize people who own their units.
Are there any recommendations for tolerably priced garages in the area? Or has anyone had positive experiences finding people renting out driveways or spots at their businesses on Craigslist or other sites? I'd really appreciate any insights.
