Trump sparks fresh concerns by claiming he may still be president ‘in 2026 or 2032’

Trump was speaking at the US Coast Guard Academy's 145th graduating class at Cadet Memorial Field when he discussed 11 icebreaker ships which have been ordered for the US military.

Trump said: "We're making, right now, currently under construction, we have 11. Beautiful.

“And I said, 'Come on, when's the first one coming?' They said, 'In 28'. I said, 'I'm going to be here in 28'.”

The president added: “Maybe I'll be here in 32, too. I don't know. Maybe I will. But I'm going to be here in 28. And I'll tell you, I say, that's great, because I'm going to be there."

How would you describe Charlie Kirk’s influence on modern political discourse?

I’ve been reading and watching different clips and discussions involving Charlie Kirk, and I’m trying to understand his role in today’s political landscape more clearly.

From what I can tell, he’s built a large platform through campus debates, social media content, and involvement in youth-focused political organizing. A lot of people seem to view him as an effective communicator who connects with younger audiences, especially through direct, fast-paced debate formats and short-form online content.

At the same time, reactions to him seem very divided. Supporters often say he brings clarity to conservative ideas and is willing to engage directly with opposing viewpoints, particularly in environments like college campuses where political disagreement can be intense. Critics, on the other hand, argue that his style can be overly simplified or more geared toward media impact than deeper policy discussion.

What I’m trying to understand is less about agreeing or disagreeing with him, and more about why his style and messaging seem to generate such strong reactions on both sides. It feels like he represents a broader trend in political communication where personality, media strategy, and short-form content matter just as much as the ideas themselves.

For people who have followed him closely:

  • What do you think his biggest impact has been on political discussion among younger voters?
  • Do you think his approach is mainly educational, persuasive, or performance-driven?
  • Has his influence changed how political debates happen online or on campuses?

I’m open to all perspectives here, just trying to understand the bigger picture.

Reddit has by far the worst censorship I’ve ever seen of anything even remotely right leaning, to the point that it needs government intervention to neutralize it

It is absolutely out of control, and it is the only anonymous message board remaining on the Internet with any traffic. At the very least, you could come at the angle of an antitrust violation, but it’s clear that there is a very horrific level of bias in the moderation.

White House ballroom is turning into a symbol of Trump’s failures: The president’s only legacy will be greed and corruption

Trump’s ballroom is also a ham-fisted effort to conceal his inevitable legacy as the worst president the nation has ever seen.

Apparently Swearing at my Aldermen is Harassment

I called my alderman a few times and asked why he’s a useless sack of shit. I also asked people who endorsed him why they supported an abusive piece of shit like that. I called a few times. The police cited me with harassment. I guess the Constitution doesn’t apply here in Wisconsin.
