How did you get hired at EB with a non-traditional background?

I’ve applied to quite a few positions at EB over the past year and haven’t been able to get a call back or interview. My background is primarily in pharmacy, but I’ve seen people with similar experience transition into planner/production control roles at EB, so I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in the application process.
For those who were hired into planner/production control or other non-yard positions, how did you get your foot in the door? Did you apply online, attend a hiring event, have an employee referral, or something else?
I’m really interested in working at EB and would appreciate any advice from people who have actually gone through the process.

Crystal Mall Hiring event

Hi all. I'm a fresh mechanical engineering graduate, and I got invited to the crystal mall hiring event coming up in a few days, and I just wanted to know how to best prepare. I don't even know what position they're hiring for so I've just been going over my fundamentals.

What does the interview look like and what can I best do to prepare? Thanks!

Just Hired . Need advice!

Hey everyone.

I had onboarding screenings, such as the physical and things like that, today. I was wondering how long this takes and how long I should expect to be there.

The email says badge control, for photos and then moving to another portion of the area.

I’m also slightly concerned with something else - a person I used to be friends with works there as a welder, and I’ll probably end up seeing them. We no longer get along and I personally worry that they might try and say “oh he snuck his phone in” or “oh, he’s doing this, or that” because they have a very petty personality. I’m probably overly paranoid.

I know to leave my phone in the car and not wear my smartwatch. If he does go that route, what can I do to assure everyone that it’s just hearsay? I know EB has cameras but there’s so many people, I’m sure it’s like finding a needle in a haystack. Thank you!

37003N Hair Follicle test

sorry if this question is a bit stupid but I was curious if anyone knows if they stopped testing for THC this year. I just got my start date after going through the drug screening and security clearance and when I looked at the paper for my medical evaluation, the hair follicle test I received was 37003N Hair-4 Expo (No THC). Which is a THC specifically excluded hair test.
Ive heard that EB is a federal contracting job so under their rules it’s still considered illegal but I was wondering if maybe they’ve changed the rules based off the rescheduling of marijuana. I’ve heard through another post that they stopped testing for it back in May and was wondering if anyone else had any information on this? Also do they do secondary testing during orientation or is that only part of the onboarding process if one were to fail the initial hair tests?

6 months Clause

Hi Everyone,

Received an offer for an Electrical Engineering role that will require me to get clearance in Six months, due to my multiple foreign contacts and travel my interim wasn't granted and now I am awaiting a full clearance investigation. As well as due to me being out of the country I know have to wait for them to find me a foreign investigator.

All of this wouldn't worry me, but the 6 month thing does, is there a way to expedite this, people who went passed 6 months without clearance what happened

Slow hiring process at EB in Quonset?

Hiya!

I applied to and got the initial offer for the Pipefitter role in late May 2026. I did the drug test and sent my documents (currently live in TX and would be relocating) in early June. I feel like Ive been harassing my recruiter once a month for a modicum of information on where we stand.

My husband got his offer around the same time for the entry level Welder role. He did all the same steps along with me so we should, in theory be on the same page.

BUT.

Its a big move and while I know someone who already works at that location, we don't know anyone else there.

Is the months long wait without any information normal for EB? Is this what its like once you're hired on???

I understand they are hiring something like 3k in the next few months or such according to the last article I read but holy cow.

The last time she reached back out to me was this past July 20th and it was simply, "Oh we are still waiting for the drug test." Ma'am?!

She went on to ask what she had told me last time I called her, which was before I realized they move slower than the federal government (who I last worked for). The answer at that time was that they expected to have a start date and firm offer before Fall.

Anyone else in this same boat? We are strongly considering NOT taking the offer whenever it finally comes because we feel left in the dark.

We aren't confident we will be able to make the move and get settled in for the amount they are offering and the lack of communication.
