Hey everyone.

I had onboarding screenings, such as the physical and things like that, today. I was wondering how long this takes and how long I should expect to be there.

The email says badge control, for photos and then moving to another portion of the area.

I’m also slightly concerned with something else - a person I used to be friends with works there as a welder, and I’ll probably end up seeing them. We no longer get along and I personally worry that they might try and say “oh he snuck his phone in” or “oh, he’s doing this, or that” because they have a very petty personality. I’m probably overly paranoid.

I know to leave my phone in the car and not wear my smartwatch. If he does go that route, what can I do to assure everyone that it’s just hearsay? I know EB has cameras but there’s so many people, I’m sure it’s like finding a needle in a haystack. Thank you!

I just got my first iPad today! M5 Pro 13 inch, and my iPhone is running iOS 27 beta. Personally I like it, but I’m concerned about what it would do to the battery of my iPad. The battery already to drain a bit fast, but from what I’ve been told it’s because it’s indexing. I didn’t do an iCloud restore or anything, just synced contacts, photos, texts, stuff like that. No apps were transferred.

Should I install this beta? Is it worth it? Or is it too buggy?

I read online that they train you, and I’ve never been too strong in the classroom. I enjoy working with my hands but I’m nervous that I won’t be good enough and they’ll kick me out. I’ve tried looking at some things online but it’s all pretty vague… each company seems to do things differently. I also have no idea how to read blueprints, but I’m sure that’s normal for people in it. To those of you in a similar role that happen to work at EB or something close to it, did you have any knowledge of this stuff, such as reading blueprints or welding, prior to it? (As in when you first started working with these trades, not at EB). Is it hard to pick up on?

Hi everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has any jobs or ideas for a place I could temporarily work for a couple of weeks while I wait for this new job to finish up with the BCI and onboarding. Short on cash a bit so it would be helpful with any ideas.
