Gotham Locations that vanish.

Later seasons often introduce locations that are never mentioned or seen until they appear in their respective episodes. For example, Ra’s Vault in Season Four was never mentioned by Ra’s himself. Similarly, Fish Mooney’s club is never seen again after Season One even though she returns.

Ra’s Al Ghul’s locations are the ones that confuse me, he has plenty of places and then they’re never mentioned again; the place where the Lazarus Water was, is gone after the final episode of Season Three.

It’s a show like Gotham with incredible locations. Some places appear only in certain seasons and disappear after they end.

What villain would you have liked to see in the show?

I don't know much about Julian Day, but I believe he could have easily worked for a whole season. Maybe not as the main antagonist of a season, but as another serial killer that Gordon is after. Let's say Julian is in season four. Gordon could be heading for what he thinks is a lead to Pyg, but the murders are Halloween related, and there would be other holiday related murders throughout the season. He may or may not be someone else Sofia Falcone hired, and he would leave clues for Gordon at the crime scenes that he'd have to solve with the help of Riddler.

Did Jim really think it would just go away?

It’s funny the way Jim thought Sofia would just leave the city after everything she planned to do and everything he’s faced.

Jerome art

I decided to draw him after not doing this for a LONG time, I forgot how much I loved Gotham!!!

I got so many old drawings of the characters from the show, that someday I might post some of them too.

The latter episodes of Season 1 were the best Fish ever was.

The final few episodes truly allowed Jada to expand her acting range beyond the minx feisty portrayal she had embodied as Fish throughout the entire season. I appreciate her vulnerability yet the determination remains palpable.

Fish died way too easily in the Season 1 finale.

The final fight scene between Fish and Penguin is incredibly satisfying to watch. It’s cinematic to see Penguin emerge victorious. But, I feel Fish didn’t put up much of a fight after being shot by Butch. It seemed almost predetermined that Fish would die as Jada didn’t want to return until later. Considering she could have fought much harder after being shot, it felt somewhat forced.

I kind of wish Fish was included in a more exciting arc rather than just being brought back by Hugo Strange only to go missing for an entire season to die again. Jada Pinkett was so good as Fish, the hate for the actress shouldn’t have bled into the character, she had a vibe about her she suited her style and knew the role. Gotham needed more of her. Once she died in Season 3, the show became rather dull no matter how exciting it tried to be.

Which season of Gotham is the least rewatchable?

I’ve made a post about how Season 1 is my most rewatchable season, but let’s discuss which season falls victim of being the least watchable out of the entire series.

The first season has major rewatchability.

When it first aired, Season 1 received very critical reviews. It feels like this is one of those TV seasons that can be watched repeatedly as the rewatchability improves with each viewing. Even at its initial airing, I found the show at its most consistent.

I really enjoy Oswald’s climb up the food chain in the city and playing both sides. Jim’s role in keeping Gotham on its heels while the Underworld clambering for a piece of the chair and Harvey tries to balance his feisty side and friendship with Jim. Fish Mooney and Oswald’s rivalry. It’s so good. I know some episodes can drag especially when they take the story away from the core Mobster story but even then the show knows what it is and doesn’t try to preach Batman lore like the other seasons do.

Almost everything about this season is strong:

The mobster story.
Jim Gordon isn’t yet pretentious.
The villain of the week format kinda works for me.
How they handle Nygma, he’s not a background character as much as he seems.
Jada Pinkett’s Fish Mooney is even very fun to watch.
The city itself feels a lot more like a character than it does in later seasons when the focus is pushed to the supervillains.

Season One still has a fun vibe even when it’s serious.

Such a satisfying season finale too.

My ratings for the entire series:

Season One: 10/10
Season Two: 7/10
Season Three: 6/10
Season Four: 6/10
Season Five: 5/10

CLAYFACE

CLAYFACE fully transforms into his iconic final form later in the film. We can confirm ‘CLAYFACE’ held a second test screening.

Runtime is still roughly 1hr 50min, and word out of the room is positive.

One attendee’s verdict: “That shit was BANGIN! It just felt like a FILM film.”

He's a big mother f**"**, stunning, and grotesque, similar to the image with an asymmetrical jaw.

Man, FOX did this show dirty with Season 5

The season finale is just bad. I get that this show can be inconsistent at times but it’s so obvious that they cancelled this show and then just had to shoehorn a bunch of crap into the finale with the ten year time jump.

The time jump wouldn’t be that bad if everyone didn’t literally look THE EXACT SAME. They didn’t even try to make people look older…I guess Jim has a mustache??? Barbara’s hair is red??? That’s supposed to make me feel like ten years has passed?

It’s a shame that we didn’t get the full 6 or 7 seasons worth of content that was planned for originally.

This show basically just fell victim to being on basic cable at a time when cable is dying.

The worst part is that FOX won’t even license this show to a streaming service. I know so many DC fans that have never seen this show because it is basically unavailable to the entire United States unless you pirate it.

Oh well, this show was great while it lasted. Such a fun depiction of the Batman universe. Season 5 was just such a let down with the way it ended.

Hopefully Pennyworth is good. Gonna start it now.

Peabody's Bone Necklace

In S03E01, Ms Peabody is wearing a fascinating necklace that looks like either a pelvis+sacrum, or a mask.

Has anyone spotted this before? Does anyone think it's significant or meaningful?

Started season 5

Just watched s5e1 and man this is such a large shift in the overall tone of the show. Like I'm watching a post apocalyptic show. Scenes and music are feeling much more serious especially the hospital scenes of selina and bruce. The way selina screamed and started crying after she was stopped from killing herself was really distressing. I hope the rest of the season maintains this tone but unfortunately there are hints that they'll fall back to the absurdity with the nurse suggesting bruce to find the witch to help selina.

Idk, because Jerome wouldn't have given any time to evacuate the city, he would've just killed you all on the spot

Not to mention, he literally tried to gas all of Gotham. At least Jeremiah will give you a quick, instant death

Final confrontation in Gotham Season 6

This is my pitch/idea for the finale of a potential Season 6 of Gotham. I would absolutely love to hear other opinions on this, what do you guys think?

Batman: Firmly believes that Gotham is inherently good. He doesn't want to be a mere vigilante, but a symbol of hope that inspires the people to save themselves.

Joker: A pure nihilist. His core conviction is that no one is truly good. Under enough pressure, everyone breaks—and he wants to prove that Batman is just as corrupt and cruel as he himself is.

The Pitch: On Christmas Eve, the final confrontation takes place at the top of a high, gothic church tower. Gotham is in a state of emergency. The Joker has hidden bombs all over the city, set to detonate precisely at midnight. He presents Batman with a devastating dilemma: the bomb detonators are wired directly to a chest device measuring the Joker's own heartbeat. If his heart stops beating, the bombs are defused. Batman is faced with a choice: kill the Joker and break his one rule, or let countless people die. Either way, Batman would be destroyed.

As the timer ruthlessly ticks down, the two engage in a long, quiet, and intense conversation on top of the tower, reflecting on their motivations, their shared history, and their ideologies.

A few minutes before midnight, Batman makes his decision. He shatters the Joker’s logic by choosing a third way: Batman knocks the Joker unconscious. In a high-risk, precise move, he hooks the device up to his own heartbeat and detaches it from the Joker. When the Joker regains consciousness, he realizes with absolute horror what Batman is about to do. Batman is standing on the edge of the tower. He is saving the city without breaking his rule but the price is his own life.

In this exact moment, the Joker completely breaks down. He begs Batman not to do it ("I can't live without you," etc.). If Batman dies, the Joker loses his sole purpose in life and his ideological war. But Batman jumps.

As the church bells begin to toll for Christmas, the ticking of the bombs stops. The city is saved, and the Joker’s nihilism is permanently defeated.

Jim Gordon is the first to find Batman's body, the very same boy he comforted all those years ago after his parents were murdered.

The GCPD finds the Joker huddled on top of the tower. He is arrested and locked away in Arkham Asylum once more, where he becomes entirely catatonic and "does nothing." He has lost his meaning.

Meanwhile, the city—which was able to follow the entire event live on TV—begins to change. The people of Gotham are deeply inspired by Batman's ultimate sacrifice. It’s not the suit or the gadgets that make a hero, but the willingness to give everything for others. The ending hints at a potential successor to take up the mantle, but leaves the question intentionally open.
