Decided to try pouring Guinness in a glass
Based on some "strong" suggestions from this sub, I bought a Guinness glass and have decided to try drinking my Guinness from said glass instead of directly from the can.
The first pour I tired was the "put the glass on the can and flip it upside down while slowly pulling the can out of the glass" method that seems to be very popular on the Internet.
The second pour I tried was the "tilt the glass until it's almost full then hard pour the rest directly into the vertical glass" method that is written on the box.
Here are my thoughts:
Both pours taste better than from the can directly.
The completely upside down pour tastes more like a draft beer.
The tilted pour is the creamiest.
Neither of them have much of a head to speak of.
Will I completely quit drinking it out of the can? Probably not, but now that I have the glass I have more options.
First taste of 0.0%
A mate left some at my bbq last weekend.
Pretty tasty tbf.
A new Guinness x UN:IK collab collection has dropped! What’s your favourite design?
I’m absolutely delighted to work with Guinness again on the 3rd of our collabs since launch. She is definitely my favourite yet but I’d be keen to hear what you all think.
It’s a third instalment with a focus on The Year of the Tortoise, a firm favourite among Guinness die-hards.
In such a fast-paced world, it's important to slow things down from time to time and appreciate the moment, preferably with a perfectly poured pint in hand.
The collection features an array of original UN:IK designs, with subtle nods to the iconic Guinness archives throughout.

McMullan’s Las Vegas
There are only two places in Vegas to get a decent pour, McMullan’s is number 1. RÍRA is number two. I’m ready to die on this hill.
How do we feel about people doing the shamrock thing
Personally, I don't want anything done to the head of my Guinness, I'd prefer they focus on a good pour over theatrics, but all the places around me that do a good pour do it. I was surprised that I even got one in Ireland in Howth
20L Keg In Canada
I have a keezer setup with all the proper guinness hardware, but it can only fit 20L kegs. Unfortunately, I can't find any way to source the 20L kegs. Has anybody found a way to get these in Ontario? Alternatively, is there way to transfer the beer from the 50L keg into a standard 20L keg I can find locally?
Any help or tips are appreciated!
Geoguessr for Guinness
built a dumb/fun game where you guess where a guinness pint photo was taken. Pints are all from google maps review photos, so some may slip through that aren't actual pics of pints.
Five rounds, geoguessr-style scoring, and you can see the original review and pub it came from after guessing
It’s here: https://maptheg.com
would love to know what you think if you try it
Finally dialed the pour for the new kegerator
Got a tower koozie delivered today. I’m stubborn so I tried to jam the thing on without shutting off the beer line. Had to remove the nitro faucet to get it to fit and realized the restrictor plate wasn’t set properly. Once I reassembled I noticed the beer was flowing much slower than before. Now I’m getting pours like seen in the gif and a decent settling time. Best investment I ever made.
Pushing the boat out today
Going to enjoy some foreign extra in the sun
Irish Exit at Centennial Yards has the best Guinness in ATL
And if you split the G you get one free. Went for the first time last night, and after going all over the city to find the best Guinness, this place has it. Apparently they have dedicated dishwashers just for Guinness glasses, a strict line cleaning regimen, and the taps have been tuned by a Guinness rep (not sure how common this is, but maybe it’s more common than I think). Vibes were great so def worth a check out if you are down that way.
