Bust-waist-hips

I have a question. I’ve started my hrt process and was wondering what people’s experience is with measurements. Is there anyone who measured at the beginning and then what their measurements are currently, how long did it take?

Any help will be massively appreciated. I understand that calorie deficits, training and genetics all come in to play, but regardless of those, what’s the before and after?

Stopping HRT cold turkey

I can’t take the side effects and agitation anymore. I just ripped off my 18.75mg E patch. Tiny dose. I saw my doc yesterday and she said to try one more week but I’m at the end of my rope. I’m in Peri at 52.

The estrogen wasn’t high enough to stop night sweats and other symptoms but I couldn’t tolerate high doses. I had extreme anxiety. And I mean extreme.

I’ve been on 100 prometrium as well for about 3 months, moved to taking it vaginally. Should I keep up the progesterone for a bit or is it ok to stop? My moods are awful and high anxiety. I fall asleep at random times and don’t know what day it is when I wake up.

Should I take vaginal prometrium for a little while longer or just rip off the band aid?

I have been suffering horribly - that’s why I’m on 1/2 a 37.5mg patch. I am agitated and can’t get out of bed.

Any advice will be welcomed! Thanks.

Hormones and growth

Hello everyone, I have a very serious problem with hormones and growth, I don't know what to do, at the moment I'm 161 years old, 18, but the growth zones are open, I look like a 13-year-old, I also do professional boxing when there are no competition fees, testesterone is more or less produced, as soon as competitions or fees it drops to zero then he recovers in about a month and I do not know what to do since I have connected my life with sports, but I also do not want to feel disabled, also the maximum testosterone was 15, which is quite low, I went to the doctors, everyone shrugs, now I plan to take a break from training, maybe someone from the doctors here will tell me What should I do?

Hormonal Therapy and Health Risks

I'm someone who is considering transitioning from male to female, but haven't decided. I've heard that hormonal therapy results in changing emotions and mindsets, so I'm considering trying out hormonal therapy for a time to kind of test what it would be like to feel more female and feminine mentally and give myself a better idea of if I want to transition. I'm concerned about the potential long-term health risks involved in this therapy. If I decide transitioning is not for me after several months, will there be lasting health effects from the hormonal therapy?
Also, can others tell me their experiences of how hormonal therapy affected them physically and mentally? Thank you very much.

how do i afford HRT???

I might sound dumb for this, but I'm in this situation where I can't really afford HRT right now. I'm a 22-year-old trying to transition, but I have no health insurance to cover any costs for prescriptions, and my friends say that HRT without insurance would be around $200, which in my country's current economy, is pretty pricey, and then getting a gender affirming surgery for myself would be around $20,000. At least that's what they said it would cost. And I tried looking at a website called hrt.coffee, but it didn't really help at all when it came to affording and actually getting HRT. I thought about maybe raising a gofundme but im not sure if that should be my next move. Can anyone with experience help me out????.

Why am I being forced to have another vaginal ultrasound and uterine biopsy when I just had them in 2024, they were clear and I have no symptoms.

55 and still in perimenopause. Was forced to get a vaginal ultrasound and uterine biopsy in 2024 before my OB would prescribe HRT. Mind you, I had no irregular periods at that point and no symptoms to warrant a biopsy. I did them and of course everything came back fine. I take the HRT. I have a call with a new OB (Kaiser) to get updated refills. I started to have irregular periods, missing a month here and there. I went 5 months without a period and then got another period. All periods are normal, no spotting, no long-time bleeding etc-NORMAL. My doctor is making me get both the ultrasound and biopsy AGAIN just 2 years later. I got a song and dance about how that 1 period could be a sign of cancer. I thought a perimenopause symptom was literally irregular periods with the other mood changes. She gave me a small refill for the estrogen patch and progesterone but is refusing to give me the TRT I have been taking leaving me to stop cold turkey while I wait for them to schedule the damn biopsy. This seems crazy to me. None of my friends have had to get these tests when they had irregular periods during perimenopause and they certainly didn't have to get them in order to get their medication. What gives. Please, any OB/GYN out here help me understand why a healthy 55 yr old with no symptoms outside of peri is being denied medication and forced to do these tests again.

Who else didn’t like taking Testosterone?

Admittedly, I have only been taking it for a month and decided to stop—0.25 ML/day, but into the first week, experienced chin acne, puffy face, and feeling very annoyed and emotional! The only upside was that I was starting to feel more energy and a boost in libido, WHILE at the same time getting really annoyed by my husband’s breathing 🤣🤪 Is it just me that Testosterone is not the right fit? In general, I think I am sensitive to hormone changes. Also, I am on HRT—0.1mg estradiol patch twice a week & 15mg norethindrone (progesterone).

Eskenazi Gender Program/General Advice for HRT in Indiana

Hey, yall! I'm (26NB) posting for my partner (23NB), who wants to start accessing gender affirming care.

We are in Lafayette, IN, and able to travel if need be.

I'm posting for them because I am currently in between jobs, and they struggle with executive functioning. I'm trying to help them get the ball rolling for their transition.

I called my local pride center and asked them for help with finding a program/doctor, and they referred me to Eskenazi in Indianapolis. I put their info in to request an appointment.

  1. What are people's experiences here?

  2. Does anyone recommend an alternative program?

  3. Does anyone have general advice for accessing HRT while being nonbinary/transfemme? I have heard it can be difficult to access care if you're nonbinary bc you're treated like you're on the fence or something.

  4. My partner isn't 100% sure where they will land. They've mentioned both wanting to look more androgynous and wanting to look more femme. General advice about this stuff would be helpful too.

I know in the past they mentioned potentially just doing either T blockers or E or something like that. I know they for sure need something bc their dysphoria and concurrent mental health issues (which I suspect is at least partially exacerbated by the dysphoria) have become debilitating at this point. It would be nice to know what options might be out there so they can figure out what feels best for them and get some relief as quickly as possible.

TIA!!!

Just did my injection wrong, do I need to seek medical attention?

I've been on HRT a little over a month now and just did my weekly estradiol shot how I usually do it.

This time was different though. It was much more painful than normal, and when I pulled the needle out a lot of blood started streaming out immediately. It stopped just as fast as it started, and I cleaned it up with an alcohol wipe.

It's incredibly sore now though and I got really woozy before making this post. Almost called 911 because I felt like I was going to pass out, but then my parents would find out I'm on HRT if I called it.

What should I do? Has anyone else messed up their injection before?

Homemade Estradiol?

I have a bit of an odd question, but I would first like to clarify that I do not plan to make estradiol at home, nor do I encourage others to.

What I want to know is, if industrial society were to collapse tomorrow and global supply chains fell apart, would there be a way to continuously produce Estradiol or a similar compound?

I’m sure it wouldn’t be insanely high on the survival checklist, but it’s definitely up there for me. I just wonder if all trans people would essentially be forced to medically detransition, or if there’s some option that’s possible with pre-modern technology.

Switching to Injectibles, Had Some Questions About Dosing And What To Expect?

Hey, I've been on oral medication since I was a teenager, but now, 15 years later I'm finally trying injectible estrogen out after hearing so many good things about it, largely things that sound like they would help me. However, I have questions regarding it.

So basically, I've been on 8mg of Estradiol for about 2 or 3 years. Before, I was on 6mg for about 11 years, but once I started Prog, I upped it to help with night sweats and it also helped level out my moods and stuff. But Planned Parenthood doesn't offer 8mg anymore.

I *did* get grandfathered in, but I really wanted to try injections. I got a prescription for .2ml of Estradiol, but that sounded lower than a lot of what I'd seen about taking injections. They told me people usually *start* on .15ml, but I've been on hormones so I start at .2ml.

Is this a reasonable dose? Should I try to adjust the dosage? I have to get a blood draw afterwards where they'll test my levels, and they've been good on the pills. A few other notes: I don't take an anti-androgen because I got (subpar) bottom surgery 7 years ago. I'm also intersex, and I think I might lack some T receptors given my history. I think I'm just panicking now that I'm actually trying it, and Planned Parenthood has not been great to me in general, and has really handwaved a lot of trans healthcare in my experience.

Any and all advice on this would be so, so appreciated. I've really never tried taking things like this into my own hands, so I'm really nervous.

Please help - waiting to hear from NP. Progesterone sensitivity and anxiety.

40/F here.

I've experienced consistent cyclical spotting for about 10 days before my period EVERY month for over 12 years (started in late 20s). So basically bleeding straight for about 2 weeks/month.

Have seen countless doctors. There was one small polyp when I had a vaginal ultrasound, but multiple doctors weren't concerned by it (and I feel like if that was causing the bleeding, it wouldn't be so precisely cyclical).

I've dealt with living like this. But in recent years the insomnia leading up to my period is out of control.

I recently had a tele health appt with an NP from Midi Health that specializes in menopausal and PM hormone balancing. She prescribed me micronized progesterone and the estradiol patch, which i've now been using for about a month.

The first few days were ROUGH. Insane racing anxiety (I started while in my luteal phase). It balanced out after a bit, but sleep still didn't really improve. Now i'm in another luteal phase and I haven't slept all week, my anxiety is SPINNING. I feel crazy. I can't focus. I don't know what to do.

I guess I should stop the HRT but didn't know if it was okay to do so cold turkey.

I thought the obvious explanation was a progesterone drop during my luteal phase, but now I'm wondering if this is all pointing to more of a progesterone sensitivity, like even to my own progesterone (maybe it's rising during my luteal phase?) But not sure if that would explain the bleeding.

I honestly feel like something is wrong with my brain. Could use some help and support. Thank you.

How much is HRT monthly?

So I’m in college and can book an HRT appointment, but I want to know if I should contact my mom to try and see if our insurance could pay for it. She’s not the most supportive and probably would ask I delay it to make sure this is what I want, so I’d rather pay for it myself if possible. Can someone help please? Thank you!

Gel conversion confusion

I am on a 0.05 Dotti patch. It seems not a single pharmacist or even doctor is sure what the equivalent is in Divigel .1% solution. I was given 1mg of the .1% solution but am terrified to use that much because when I switched to a 0.075 patch my entire body felt like a pressure cooker ready to explode. I also had a few migraines. BP felt sky high but it wasn’t. I can’t go through that again. 1mg is for sure more than 0.075.

People on HRT and antidepressant?

I am wondering if anyone is in the same situation:

I am on HRT since last summer because of bad reactions to hormone fluctuations and pmdd, and signs of perimenopause. In December I started escitalopram because of very bad mental state (breakup, living situation, trauma) on a low dose because I am very sensitive, i went up a bit in February and until July or something I really felt better. Then last weeks I felt getting worse and right now I feel really depressed and anxious. I can also feel something is off with my hormones but how do you know if you have to change ahormone doses or if AD isn't working enough anymore? Because symptoms are the same...

I just want estradiol man, where can I get it?

Every possible source I can find is either out of stock or doesn't deliver to my country(the US). Where can I find vials of estradiol? Hell, I'll synthesize it if I have to(I have looked into it, this seems quite difficult).

Can't get my testosterone for another month

To try to summarize a long story, I've been on testosterone since 2022. Due to financial hardship and major life issues I've had to come on and off of it. I was on it constantly most of this year, and then tried out switching to gel because I have a needle phobia. Gel was way too expensive and I never remembered to do it, and the bottles I got were destroyed during a move. so I talked to my doctor about switching back to Injections. She agreed and said she would send the prescription over to my new pharmacy (I had recently moved)

The prescription never ended up arriving. I figured I had a spare vial somewhere so I dug around in all my boxes trying to find it and tried to make a new appointment with my doc to explain the prescription issues. I made an appointment at the pharmacy to get my injection done by a professional and when I showed up the pharmacist explained that she couldn't do it because my vial was passed the 50 day mark and was potentially expired. She also said she couldn't do it because it was prescribed subq but the box the vial comes in says it can only be administered intramuscular. By this point I've been off testosterone for almost a month

I can't see my doctor until September 11th because of unknown reasons. I just can't get an appointment earlier then that. I can tell my levels are messing up because I'm starting to feel absolutely awful. I've had constant cramping for like 4 days now and I've been bloated and gross and nauseated. My acne is really bad and painful. I'm also getting really dizzy. It's getting to the point where I might have to take time off work for this because I work as a baker and I don't feel comfortable with heavy lifting and using hot ovens while I'm this out of it and dizzy. Fortunately I have today and tomorrow off.

I haven't had a period since January of this year because I got a bc implant. I don't know if the implant is also failing on me or something but all I know is I can't get access to my medication for another month

Any suggestions for what I could potentially do?

I'm fully prepared to try and wait it out, but the cramping, even though it's mild, is really getting to me, and I feel like it's only going to get worse. I live in Canada if that's relevant
