Hi everyone,
I’m a photographer/videographer and I’ve been shooting weddings and events for around 8 years. I recently started offering my work here in Germany as well, so I’m currently looking to build a more local portfolio around Mannheim, Heidelberg, Frankfurt and nearby areas.
For that reason, I’m offering a few portfolio-building shoots at a very low rate.
For weddings, I’m offering flat €200 coverage, including the ceremony and some couple/family moments. For couple shoots, engagement-style shoots, or smaller creative/event gigs, I’m open to doing selected shoots for free or at a very small cost, depending on the idea and location.
The only thing I would ask in return is permission to use some selected photos/videos for my portfolio, Instagram, website, or future work examples. Of course, I’ll always keep it respectful and only post the kind of work you’re comfortable with.
I provide both photography and videography, so this can be for weddings, couple shoots, proposals, engagement shoots, small events, or anything similar.
I’m not looking to rush or mass-book people — mainly hoping to meet nice couples/people, get more experience with weddings and shoots here in Germany, and create something beautiful together.

Around 1pm july 4th, we heard few detonations like thunder or fireworks. We were in castle grounds. Does someone know what was it ?
Zur Zeit wird ja der Bürgerentscheid zu Windkraftanlagen auf dem Lammerskopf überall in Heidelberg mit großem Aufwand beworben.
Auf der dagegen Seite stehen u.a. CDU, bunte Linke, private(?) Initiativen, aber auch NABU und BUND. Die Argumente scheinen zu sein: Fauna-Flora-Habitat(FFH)-Gebiet wird beinträchtigt, Touristen werden das Stadtbild nicht mehr als so schön empfinden, es mache finanziell keinen Sinn, es gibt bessere Gebiete, dem Klima helfe es nicht so sehr.
Auf der dafür Seite stehen die Grünen, Linken, SPD, Energiegenossenschaften und private Initiativen wie Scientists for Future. Die Argumente scheinen zu sein: Klimaschutz, unabhängige Energieversorgung, der Lammerskopf habe die besten Bedingungen im Norden von BW, und das Fauna-Flora-Habitat-Gebiet werde nicht beeinträchtigt, bzw. es werde ohnehin später noch genauer geprüft.
Zu dem FFH Gebiet gibt es wohl ein Gutachten, das von beiden Seiten unterschiedlich ausgelegt wird.
Da fehlen bestimmt noch einige Argumente und Information, also ergänzt ruhig.
Hi Everyone! We are a Norwegian family travelling through Germany this week and wish to see the WC match between Norway and Brasil while we are in Heidelberg. We are staying in a hotel close to Römerplatz.

Are there any places showing the matches? We are a family of 5 so it has to be a place where kids are allowed. Are Germans still watching after their own exit?
Does anyone know what was happening in Leutershausen Hirschberg ad Bergstrasse tonight? It is usually the quitest suburb but tonight I got off the tram at 1 AM and faced a horde of crazy drunk teenagers, like almost hundred. Like in every street corner until I got home there was puking drunk teens, which is so out of ordinary. Was there like a festival or graduation event? They were all dress pretty casual. How can I learn what was happening?

Ich plane gerade einen Wochenendtrip nach Heidelberg und war ehrlich gesagt etwas überrascht von den Hotelpreisen. Deshalb schaue ich inzwischen auch nach Unterkünften in der Umgebung, z. B. Richtung Sinsheim oder Bad Rappenau.
Da ich sowieso mit dem Auto unterwegs bin, wären 25–30 Minuten Fahrzeit kein Problem.
Wie macht ihr das? Übernachtet ihr lieber direkt in Heidelberg oder etwas außerhalb und spart dafür beim Hotel?
Freue mich über eure Erfahrungen und Empfehlungen.

I am looking for an English-speaking babysitter in Heidelberg for our 5 y.o. son and 1.5 y.o. daughter for 1 day. We are travelling for 4 days on a work/leisure trip and need a child minder for 1 complete day (08:30 AM - 12:30 PM and then 13:30 PM to 16:30). I will pay for all hours from morning start to evening end and travel that you might have to do to arrive.
