Alila Bishangarh - an unforgettable Royal stay

Alila Fort Bishangarh is a masterclass in luxury n heritage. The 230-year-old warrior fort is impeccably maintained, beautifully blending history with modern comfort.

Food: Phenomenal across the board, with the mutton dishes standing out for their rich, melt-in-the-mouth perfection. The night buffet at the rooftop restaurant (Nazaara) is a highlight, offering delicious fare and stunning panoramic views under the stars.

Hospitality: World-class. The team catered to every single request with genuine warmth.

Activities: From the guided fort heritage walk and Spa Alila to camel cart rides and local pottery sessions in Bishangarh village, there’s plenty to keep you engaged.

Flawless service, historic charm, and exceptional dining make this an absolute 10/10 stay. Highly recommended!

ITC Kakatiya - Nizam Suite upgrade thanks for Mariott Bonvoy

In 2023, got super lucky with an upgrade to Nizam Suite (presidential suite) at ITC Kakatiya Hyderbad with Marriott Bonvoy Gold.

1300+ sqft space, two entrances, living area, bedroom, dining area, a study, and huge bathroom with a circular bathtub. But the carpet, furniture and fittings were very old.

Service was exceptional but food was average.

The space was so huge that we had to decide on what part of the suite we'll use when and not miss out on anything :)

Paid only 16k a night but the room was 70k a night (as much as i can recall).

P.S Photos are from my previous phone and on 0.7x so not very high quality

Hotels booked out in Udaipur

Me and my partner travelling to Udaipur on February 2027 for our honeymoon. We really wanted to relax in one of the famous hotels for few days, like taj lake palace, leela udaipur or oberoi udaivilas. However, none of these hotels or popular 5 star hotels are available on those dates. What is actually happening? Did all of them got sold quickly exactly during February.

Have you seen any celebrities during your travels? Who and which hotel?

I just saw John Abraham at the St Regis Goa!

Wondering if anyone else had any cool celebrity sightings during their stays.

Looking for hotel recommendations in Kerala for westerners

My husband and I are Canadian/American and very excited about planning our first trip to India, hopefully in January/February 2028. We are planning to fly into Delhi, stay in Agra for 2 nights, then head to Kerala.

I haven't figured out our Delhi stay yet but we'll probably only stay 2-3 nights before going to Agra. In Agra I think we'll stay the Taj, Agra hotel.

But once we fly to Kochi I'm not sure the best place to stay, there are so many options. After Kochi we'll go to Munnar, and probably stay at the Blanket Hotel. After Munnar I'm not sure exactly where we should go, I'm open to suggestions.

I'd like to stay some place that organizes activities, has good customer service, and that has a very very clean kitchen/restaurant.

So if anyone has any suggestions for places in Delhi, Kochi or after Munnar please let me know 😊 Thanks!

Edit: in Delhi I'm thinking about the Shangri-la Eros...has anyone had experiences with them?

Best Spa Experience at Club Mahindra Tungi Valley Resort!

2nd time at Club Mahindra Tungi Valley Resort. The Spa is the best feature of this property. Excellent hygiene and very skilled massage therapists. Went there with family (parents, spouse, and an infant).

Worth it for the spa experience alone.

Fairmont Jaipur - Great Welcome and amazing property

We arrived at Fairmont Jaipur a couple of days prior loved the welcome!

Great property for a staycation especially in this weather.

Food is quite nice, had a couple of meals at Raffles as well.

I miss old Taj interiors. Why are they redesigning every property!?

The older look has always been my favourite. I see they are doing interiors of multiple properties which is making the look and feel very generic like other hotels. I feel the old Taj charm missing in the new interiors. What are your thoughts?

What’s the most unforgettable resort you’ve ever stayed at?

Just came back from Taj Holiday Village, Goa and realised I immensely enjoy staying at resorts. This one was amazing and views were mind blowing.

I’m already planning my next one and wanted to hear about your top resort experiences.

Also, what made the stay truly unforgettable?

Spa experiences in Bangalore

Haven’t posted on here in a while but I’ve been meaning to. So I’ve tried a few spas in Bangalore recently and here’s my review and ranking of them.

  1. Taj Westend. This is probably the best from experience, the staff are extremely qualified, you get a lovely foot massage, the ambience, the music everything is perfect and if i had to pick I would definitely go back here time and again.

  2. Shangri La - the ambience isn’t much to write about but extremely professional and well trained staff the massage was truly relaxing and the tea and after care was great as well.

  3. The Oberoi - despite my love for the Oberoi I feel like this was the least special massage. The ambience is really not there, I didn’t like the smell of the massage chairs at all. The therapist that worked with me wasn’t well trained and I didn’t really feel relaxed after just bleh. So I personally wouldn’t spend the money on this again.

Hope it helps!

COMPLETE FRAUD! Don’t fall for Beatrix Holidays marketing trap in Goa.

I’m posting this as a warning because I wish someone had warned me earlier.

While I was in Goa, a person on a two-wheeler followed us, stopped us, and convinced us to come to Lemon Tree Hotel for a “special holiday membership offer.” We were taken to a presentation where the Beatrix Holidays marketing team spent a long time convincing us to buy a membership.

One thing I noticed is that they seemed to be targeting couples specifically. Almost everyone attending the presentation was a couple, and the entire sales pitch was built around romantic vacations, luxury stays, and couple-friendly holiday packages.

These are the benefits we were told we would get:

  • 40% discount on flight bookings
  • 5-star hotel stays
  • Cab with driver to explore tourist places
  • Premium vacation benefits that supposedly made the membership worth the money

Based on those promises, I purchased their membership.

After going through the membership details and checking the available properties, my experience has been completely different. The properties available to me have mostly been 2-star to 3-star hotels, I have not found the 40% flight discount that was promised during the sales pitch, and I have not received the cab-with-driver facility that was presented as a major benefit.

I’m sharing this because this was my experience, and I don’t want other tourists in Goa to get pulled into the same kind of aggressive marketing presentation. Please don’t fall for this kind of cheap marketing tactic, especially if someone approaches you on the road and pressures you into attending a hotel presentation.

Has anyone else dealt with Beatrix Holidays or managed to get a refund?

Recommendations for a luxury stay in Delhi NCR

Hi all, my partner and I are looking to book a 2 day stay at a 5-star property in Delhi NCR. The idea is to have a laid-back and relaxed stay because the past few months have been very tough and originally the plan was to travel to Rajasthan / hills and stay at a luxury resort of some kind. Now that that’s not possible due to some work limitations, we are trying to find a similar experience in Delhi NCR so that we can eliminate travel.

Budget is approx 30-40k for a 2 night stay. Would prefer if the property has a few nice amenities such as massage spa / private swimming pool. Thank you!

Disappointing stay at Marriott Aravali Resort & Spa

The property is beautiful, but unfortunately the people managing it seem to be doing almost as poor a job as the property is doing a good one.

tldr; monkeys and monkey poop in the balcony of a "pool view" room, because of which we could not view the pool, they took 1+ hour to shift us. promised bday decorations on phone, there was only a cake on arrival (we dont mind there not being any decorations but we could've done them ourselves if we were told before) and the bland food. other people have already talked about the road to the property so i leave that.

We stayed here for a birthday and had a pretty disappointing experience overall.

We had specifically requested a high-floor room with a pool view. We checked in around 3 PM and the room did have the view, but the balcony was full of monkeys and monkey poop. It was basically impossible to use the balcony. We complained and the staff eventually shifted us to another room, which I appreciate, but the entire process took over an hour between going to the front desk, waiting, moving our luggage and getting settled into the new room.

This could've easily been avoided had our room been checked before. Especially because it was a corner one more prone to monkeys.

We had also called the front desk beforehand specifically to ask if they would arrange birthday decorations, and were told yes. When we arrived, there was absolutely nothing. If they had simply told us beforehand that they couldn't arrange anything, we could have prepared something ourselves. Instead, we relied on what we were told and had to rush with the decorations last minute.

The food was meh, and our birthday dinner had another disappointing experience. I ordered a pizza which I found bland (now that I am home, I can see hundreds of other reviews that have called the food bland). The chef asked me what I would change and I said I'd simply prefer a bit more flavour. He said he would add some cheese and bring it back. I wasn't sure how that would improve things because I mentioned exactly what I did not like the pizza, it almost didn't have any sauces on it and lacked the bite profile of a good Neapolitan (it felt like i was crunching the bread instead of biting and pulling it, iykwim).

What came back was this:

It was absolutely covered in cheese and had basically solidified by the time we were leaving. I would honestly have preferred the original pizza or a completely different preparation. The chef also couldn't really recommend anything else that would suit what I was looking for. NOTHING that he was proud of except his "most sold" pizza.

Unfortunately this was our birthday dinner, so it made an already disappointing evening considerably worse.

I do want to give credit to Chefs Dishant and Mahesh, who spoke to me about the experience the next day and offered me a different pizza. I appreciated that they actually made an effort to improve the situation.

There were also smaller things, like there being no usable full-length mirror in the hotel. The one in our room was partially blocked by a sofa.

The property itself is genuinely beautiful and has a lot going for it, which makes the poor management and attention to detail even more disappointing. There were individual staff members who tried to help, but overall the communication and service did not match what I would expect from a Marriott resort, especially for a birthday stay.

fwiw, after this experience, I don't see myself returning.

The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi - Executive suite

I had been wanting to stay at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi for a while, mainly because of its relatively low price for a five-star property, but was always skeptical about the service. Finally decided to give it a try.

I booked an Executive Suite, which was spacious and clean, although the window glass had noticeable smudges. During check-in, I was told that the Premium Club rooms were in a separate building, so I had to walk all the way to another part of the property to get to my room, which was a bit inconvenient.

The lounge experience was okayish—limited snack options, no single malt, and an unusual setup that felt more like multiple rooms converted into a lounge than a proper club lounge. There was no dedicated server, so guests had to get up to order drinks or food, although the staff was polite and professional.

In-room dining was average too. I ordered twice, and both times the food took over 35–40 minutes to arrive. Taste and quality were decent but nothing exceptional.

Overall, the experience was average, but considering the price I paid for a five-star property, I’d say it was still good value for money. I’d probably give it another shot and try their restaurants and bar as well.

What's the thing about Taj Amer in Jaipur? How is it so cheap!

SoI'm planning for a 2-3 day trip to Jaipur and was looking for a Taj Hotel to stay. I came across 5 Taj properties, but what caught my attention was Taj Amer. It costs around Rs 14000 [tax included] and offers all three meals!

It is looking like a too-good-to-be-true offer. So is there any catch- such as being too far away from prominent places?

I have been a frequent Taj traveller across numerous states but have never come across such a price [not taking their resort into consideration].

So, if anyone who has stayed in Amer can give their feedback on whether it is actually worth staying there. And if not, then what other Taj property can I opt for?

Thanks in advance.

ITC Kakatiya - Hyd

Rating - 8/10

Video attached is of the Executive Club room on day 4.

Breakfast was okay, nothing great.
The in house menu meat options were good, veg not so much.

Drinks were well made. Room service was quick (<15min)

Overall a decent experience. Would visit again.
