Hello Reddit, a account was just banned with a username I wanted, I have tried for about 3 days straight to change my username to the account that was banned. But it says it is unavailable. Does anyone know how long it takes for the username to become available? It is a 5 letter username.
Sounds like this is becoming a more and more common problem for people. But my business instagram account, personal intagram account, business Facebook, and personal Facebook account have all been disabled, and no reason has been given other than "account integrity". I have reached out and made contact (via a meta verified account) with tech support. They not only told me that nothing could be done, but that they couldn't tell me what the violation was because it was locked to them and they could not see what it was. They have also informed me that any account I create on any of my devices, with my phone number or any of my emails, will be flagged immediately. I tested, not using any of those, and still go shut down on a new account for using a slightly similar name. I still have an additional ongoing "hacking" case, which they have not resolved yet. I have also reached out to the district attorney and a legal team (specialized in social media). Do you think it would be helpful or hurtful for me to mention this in my chat? Is it possible they would expedite my case?

the app has started refusing to let me log into my primary account. Every single time I type my exact, 100% correct password, it just shows Incorrect Password

I've been a Meta Verified (blue tick) subscriber since June 2024, so I contacted Meta support multiple times and opened several cases. After a lot of back and forth, they did manage to recover my login and give me access back.
But shortly after, Instagram disabled my account — and from what I understand, it's because of the unusual activity the hacker caused while they had control. Meta has now told me this is a "final decision", even though:
This account isn't just numbers to me. I built it from 0 to 265K followers over years of real work, and it holds highlights of family members who have passed away — memories I can't get back if this account is gone for good.
I'm ready to verify my identity, share screenshots of my growth journey, or provide anything else that proves this is genuinely my account and that I've done nothing to violate their policies.

in other videos they feed him human dessert, cakes, fruit. i suppose if a carnivore is starved off meat it will eat anything eventually.
i have no idea how this is legal, even a rescue needs minimal living conditions, proper outdoor enclosure and diet.
even if legal in Russia with no animal cruelty laws (they have entertainment media channels on Telegram with uncensored animal torture videos that govt is allowing) - why are we allowing Russians to use the biggest Western media outlet to promote and monetize this treatment of protected species?

When I try to follow my friend it would instantly unfollow and their follower count would decrease by one each time. Same thing is happening to them. We already checked and we did not restrict/block/etc each other.
We also have to search up our exact username in order to even our profiles.

Hey everyone, looking for some technical workarounds because I am completely stuck in a loop.
My primary Instagram account was hacked a week ago. The hacker managed to change my primary email to a temporary fake domain (qspcejwfaoeq@vnvmail.com).
Here is the weird part: The hacker DID NOT change my phone number. It is still fully attached to the account.
Because my number is still there, I can successfully trigger a password reset link or an SMS OTP code to my phone. However, the second I enter the SMS code, it hits a brick wall.
To get past the 2FA, I’ve tried the automated recovery tools:
I am even trying the Meta Verified live chat route via a secondary account, but I keep getting templated responses.
Has anyone successfully gotten back in using their still-attached phone number when the hacker has 2FA locked down and the video selfie is broken? Is there a specific link, an older APK version of the app, or a device trick (like switching from iOS to Android) that forces the system to prioritize the phone number link?
Any advice or successful workarounds would be deeply appreciated. 15+ years of memories are on this account. Thank you!

Around a week ago, one of my reels was doing well (around 4k views), and then suddenly someone spammed my comments with bot comments.
I deleted all the bot comments, checked my Account Status and everything is green. I don't have any violations or restrictions.
But ever since then, my reach has completely dropped.
Before this, I was getting much better reach. Now my recent reels are getting things like:
~500 views after 2 hours
~900 views after almost a day
I haven't changed my content much, and I'm still posting consistently.
My questions are:
Can bot comments actually affect reach?
Has anyone recovered from something like this?
How long did it take?
Should I keep posting normally, or should I take a break?

Hi guys. So i recently got a new phone, logged into my IG no problem. I have the Duo Mobile double authentication app for added security. i dont remember having to use it when i logged back in on my new phone i feel like when the app downloaded from my icloud backup i was just already logged in (???) idk i dont remember cuz i didnt pay any mind to it. a few weeks later decided to delete the IG app and take a break for a few days. when i redownloaded and went to log back in, IG prompted me to go to my Duo Mobile app to authenticate like normal. I go to my Duo Mobile app and it says my account was disconnected. I cannot get into Instagram because of this. duo mobile is a dead end. i did the “verify with 2 friends” option, had two friends verify my identity and still nothing. the record a video selfie option will not work for me. i click it and nothing happens. ive tried facebook meta support and nothing. i literally had my boyfriend verify his account so he could get on with a meta agent and still nothing, he never got connected with an agent (i think because his meta subscription was a free trial but anyway). last resort is im going to have my friend who has a longtime verified account ask an agent for help. any advice? anyone know what to do? im really upset because i do modeling work and it often gives you an upper hand to have a nice looking instagram and a decent amount of followers:( really dont want to lose my account. any help is appreciated. thank you!
On October 25, 2024 my Facebook was suspended because my Instagram was disabled over account integrity. My Threads was affected because of my Instagram account and on May 25, 2026 my second Instagram was suspended over account integrity because of association with another account, which was my disabled Instagram account. At this point, all four of my accounts have been affected. I would really appreciate any advice or guidance. Has anyone experienced something similar or successfully recovered linked accounts? Are there any official forms, recovery options, or other steps I should try? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
