Dash Trim piece for 2020 GC (WK2) - Help needed for a $400 part

I need to replace this small part that encases the push-start button, and everything seems to be $300-$450 for a small plastic part. Does anyone have a better solution, and/or different part number to research? Thank you in advance.

Fob fail, how do I fix this

Update: battery and connections have been tested and found good. Also checked the fuses related to the remote system and those are also good.

I have a 2017 and in the last few days my fob has not been working in the mornings when I try to remote start, lock or unlock my vehicle, but the door handle will still unlock when I touch it and it will recognize the fob in the vehicle when I start it. It will work later in the day as it properly should.

This morning it would not work at all. I replaced the battery in the fob and still nothing. I had to use the key in the fob to unlock the door and the fob pressed to the button to start the vehicle. After it started it could not recognize the fob was in the car.

What is happening and how do I fix it? Any help would be appreciated

TPE or OEM?

I like the idea of TPE because they seem easier to clean, especially when there’s dirt, or water. But I’m also wondering if OEM mats are better for comfort and long term use?

2027 JGC - Is the only engine option for the Summit the 2.0L 4 cylinder?

I’m going to be in the market for a new jeep next year, and I’m really hoping that I’m just bad at googling stuff, because it looks to me that the only option for the higher trim levels is the hurricane 2.0L engine. It seems like this engine is basically junk with all the issues that come with it, so I really hope that I’m wrong. Paying extra money for a smaller, crappier engine just seems silly.

Fuel system service at 4k miles?

I'm looking at purchasing a used 2025 JGC limited that has 5k miles. Everything on it looks great, priced right, no red flags. Currently at a Carmax.

I ran the VIN through CarFax and it shows one owner, who had it serviced at a Jeep dealer in June this year. At the time it had about 4k miles on it.

The service record shows an oil and filter change, PLUS a fuel system service, fuel injection service, and throttle body cleaning. Probably $500 worth of work right there.

Is this a normal thing for Jeep? In all of my years of owning and maintaining vehicles I've NEVER heard of this service being completed on a 1 year old vehicle with less than 5k miles.

Should I be concerned, or is this just a classic example of a CDJR dealer fleecing its customer? I've never owned a Jeep before so I'm a little in the dark on these vehicles.

5.7 Hemi WK2 X-pipe rasp — what did you do to clean up the sound?

I have a 2017 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi. I recently had the factory center suitcase muffler removed and replaced with an X-pipe. I kept both factory rear resonators.

From idle to around 3,000 RPM it sounds great. Nice deep Hemi/V8 sound and pretty much exactly what I wanted. The problem is once I get into roughly 3,000–6,000 RPM it gets really raspy and I’m not a huge fan of the sound.

For anyone running a similar suitcase delete/X-pipe setup, what did you do to get rid of the higher RPM rasp without killing the deeper low RPM sound?

I’ve considered adding a pair of small resonators like the Carven R-Series after the X-pipe while keeping the factory rear resonators. Curious what setups have worked for you guys and whether adding resonators cleaned up the rasp without making it too quiet.

Any help is appreciated!

How bad is it?

I’m a novice when it comes to mechanical stuff. Is this no longer drivable? I bought the jeep for 500$, everything else works and runs fine. Just curious about the structural integrity with that amount of rust. Thanks.

2020 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi Transmission not shifting into higher gears

My 2020 Grand Cherokee doesn’t seem to be shifting into higher gears when driving in auto. Shifts fine in manual mode. Advice to what might be going on. The Trailhawk current has 47,000 miles on it.

Fitcamx dash-cam is sick

Almost looks OEM. Only visible cable is the little bit hanging in the rear by the window.

Ran the cables shoved into the pillars and behind the rubber door seals. Whole install took less than 30 minutes. Hardest part was setting up the app tbh.

I was able to order it on Aliexpress for like $60 cheaper than their website and recieved it in a little over a week.

Bought this a couple weeks ago and I’m enjoying it thus far - I researched before hand and purchased an extended warranty for piece of mind. Any name suggestions?

Axle fell out of step bros 1st gen jeep grand Cherokee

The axle fell out of my step brothers 1st gen jeep grand Cherokee. Its the axle that goes to the rear. It dropped out on the front end cv joint while he was driving. Why would this happen? Did the bolts just come loose or something? I’m thinking about buying it from him and I’m wondering what I should look at before doing so. I looked under it briefly a couple months ago and didn’t notice anything seriously damaged.
Thanks.

2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

Just drove off the lot and along the 80ish miles drive home all lights turned on and vehicle went into a reduced engine mode. We then had to have it towed through roadside assistance. Dealership claims there was an issue with an update they did right before we picked it up along with that a small vacuum leak. They have since corrected both and claim the vehicle is safe and everything is ok. Has anybody had any similar experience? Should we take the car back?
