I was riding with my Karoo 3, paired with my phone while my phone was playing music. A nice addition was that on the Karoo I got the music player functionality. I could move to the previous or next track and could change the volume. However, I also had a radar connected, but that sound came straight from the Karoo, so I couldn't hear it because I had earbuds in. Is there a way for all the sounds from the Karoo to also be heard through my headset?

PS headset is Soundcore X20, phone S23ultra.

I've recently moved away from Garmin to Hammerhead Karoo and I'm missing the Radar Speed Overlay app, available in the Garmin ConnectIQ app.

I’ve reached out to the developer of the Garmin app and he’s not planning to develop an extension for the Karoo.

Is there anything similar that can be side loaded?

Hey everyone, I’ve been using the Karoo 3 for a while now and I’m hitting a recurring frustration regarding activity syncing that I’m hoping someone can clarify.

Whenever I finish a ride in a location without a known Wi-Fi network, the device gets stuck with a "Syncing Activity" notification that seems to loop forever. Even though my iPhone is paired via Bluetooth and the Companion App is active, the ride simply won't upload to Strava, Intervals, or the Hammerhead Dashboard. The only way to trigger the sync is to manually turn on my phone's Personal Hotspot and connect the Karoo to it via Wi-Fi, or wait until I get home.

Does anyone know if there's a setting I'm missing to enable syncing through the companion app, or is the manual hotspot trick really the only way to get it done on the road?

I bought the Hammerhead Karoo 3 last week. I unpacked it, mounted it on my Grizl, updated the software, and adjusted a few settings.

Today I went on a short ride of about one hour. During the ride, I noticed that the battery was dropping by at least 1% every 5 minutes. That would mean a total battery life of only around 8 to at most 9 hours. That is significantly less than the roughly 15 hours that are advertised.

I had my phone paired, Wi-Fi disabled, and no sensors connected. During the ride I used 3 data pages:

1. Map and speed
2. Six data fields with speed, elevation, average speed, distance, and distance to destination
3. Weather app and Climber

For most of the ride, I was mainly using the first data page. Display at roughly 30 %.

Since I can still return the Karoo, I’m wondering whether this is simply normal behavior or if I may have received a unit with a bad battery.

When I ride a route and let's say there is a part of the road with a beautiful view, can I add the place to some highlight list with one click? I don't want to stop, get out my mobile phone and add it by hand.

Recently switched to Garmin from my Karoo 3 since all my friends who I ride with have them. It's easy to share routes with Garmin share, easy to track each other during group rides, yada yada.... I caved.

Big mistake. Garmin sucks. For a company who started out with GPS devices. They are awful at rerouting. I miss my Karoos instant rerouting.

The screen is damn shit, and to add to it the map and colors they use are trash. Even a page filled with just datafeilds are just awful looking, graphics from the 90s. (This is the lastest Garmin edge I'm talking about)

Strava live segments page on the Karoo was top tier. Garmin doesn't know it's a live segment half of the time.

Strava tax on Garmin activities are real. Never had this issue with activities recorded on Karoo.

Sold of my Karoo on Facebook already....but I think I need new group of friends and a new Karoo soon.

Hey guys i am new to karoo and always rooted and modded my android phones. now i try to find something about karoo and there is nothing. any ideas what would be cool to do with sideload or maybe root? anything you have tried? any forum or group with people doing that with the karoo?

I'm using Komoot to plan my routes. I add some coffee places along the way to the route. That works.
However when the route is synced with Karoo 3, and I start the ride. My Karoo displays just the route. There is no info about my POIs added to the rise in Komoot.

If I would not remember in my head, that there is a POI Karoo's map won't tell me and I would never know.

How can I fix it? How can I add coffee places, watter refill places, a restaurant in the middle of a ride and other POIS? Please let me know
