GPS Issue hotfix

Support told me they issued a hotfix at about 3pm EST and you need to ensure your device booted up after that time and is connected to WiFi and it should get the patch. It’s not an update so you won’t see a new version

45% any machine expect Up

My old machine broke, and I was given 45% any machine except the UP. I don't fully understand why as the Up would be the version I would get. Any recommendations other than the up? I prefer the Vertuo machines but open to others as well

Maps not reorienting

Anyone else experience maps not reorienting towards the direction you are biking! Done 3 rides in past few weeks and each time at a certain point the maps stopped rotating in the direction I was going. I wasn’t able to fix on the ride too

Blade

Anyone hear anything about the blade? Looks like a good balance of endurance and aero but I can’t find any info. I was looking at the Zeit but seems like the blade is the new version of their endurance offering?

Long Weekday Ride Routes

With semi cooler temperatures I’m looking to do a longer ride after work but not sure what routes won’t be busy with rush hour traffic? I generally only do 20-30 miles after work and up rock creek but even beach drive can be busy since the roads aren’t closed. MacArthur will be packed with cars as well and I don’t really want to do 20 Hains laps haha

carbon aero handlebars that support clip on aero bars?

I need some new bars after a crash and I’d like to get ones that would work with aero bars in the future. Not for triathlon but for long distance rides. Any good cheap but reputable options?

Car hit me on my bike, insurance offering $600 for bodily harm

I was hit by a car while crossing an intersection from one side of a bike path to the other. I got a little scraped up (have picture of small broken skin with blood) and I took Advil for a few days but no doctor. I was offered $600 and this feels like a lowball but not sure what I can do since I didn’t see any doctor. This happened 1.5 weeks ago now

Looking for private wine tour to Montepulciano from Siena — gluten free would be nice too!

Planning a trip to Tuscany in September and looking for a private wine tour out of Siena, ideally around Montepulciano. One person has Celiac so gluten-free accommodation would be nice!

We've looked at GetYourGuide and Viator but want something more private and intimate. Only quote we've gotten so far for a private tour is around $1,500 for two people which seems high.

Any recommendations for operators or guides worth reaching out to?

Hit by a car, minor bike damage

I finally had the pleasure of getting hit by a car. Slow impact, but enough to knock me over sideway and damage, saddle, handlebars, stem, and bike computer. I got a written estimate from a bike shop for the damages and repair cost ~1000 for everything (including equivalent carbon handlebar and labor).

I have the drivers insurance info, phone number and a police report. I'm trying to figure out the next best steps. From the looks of her I don't know if she would be able to pay $1k out of pocket but not sure if I should text her a heads up I'm filing with her insurance or what. She's lucky there was no injury to me (its been a week by now)

GAP + C&O Canal in 3 days

Hey all, 2 friends and I are planning on going from Pittsburgh to DC in 3 days. We are planning on getting a minivan and driving the bikes to Pittsburgh and starting early morning there. I'm trying to figure out the best stops for the nights. We are not camping so looking for hotels/motels.

I also need to do some more research on how much food/water we need to hold. Seems like GAP is pretty easy to reach towns but C&O isn't. I know there is more questions on this topic so I'll do some searching

Just got my bike back from bike store after taking it in due to a creaking sound. They replaced the isospeed (trek checkpoint) and then figured that the seatpost was making the noise. There are no visible cracks but they gave me half off a replacement. I’m obviously not going to use or sell the seatpost but feels like a waste to throw it away. Is it common for carbon to crack with no exterior visibility?

* also it was like this when I bought the bike used 2 months ago.
