experience with CellREDM?

Does anyone here have experience with this new, much hyped skin booster called CellREDM? It uses real, human-derived Extracellular Matrix (ECM) (aka donated human tissue or cadaver fat) and is supposedly less painful than Rejuran.

I'm curious but not sure how I feel about injecting a dead person's tissue into my face? Wondering how people here deal with the ethical dimensions of that. Maybe I'm overthinking...

Skincare help

Im a 23F, I have very oily and sensitive skin and looking for some recommendations of products/routines

My skin tends to not agree with niacinamide and other retinoid type of products... The main active(?) ingredients that I know help my skin are benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid but anything else I'm low-key scared to try because of the risk of breaking out

The products I use help for the most part with acne breakouts but my forehead still gets bad (whiteheads), and so does my nose (blackheads/strawberry nose) and ideally id like to decrease the appearance of my pores

Medicube collagen jelly cream gives off burning sensation?

As the title suggests. I was super excited to give medicube a chance since I've seen influencers rave about it so much but oddly it gives me a burning sensation near my chin or the below mouth area I'm wondering why? Isn't this product meant to be soothing. I don't get how people can rave about it and lie repetively - even the pharmacist who recommended this product to me told me this company has never gotten a single negative review. Sigh. Has anyone experienced this w medicube?

How and what kind of at home Kbeauty facial treatments can I do instead of going to the spa?

For reference: I have combo oily skin, it tends to be flaky everywhere, I get whiteheads/white bumps more so on my chin and lip area, I have sebaceous filaments on my nose, uneven texture all throughout my face, and have large pores. I am acne prone although I don’t break out often anymore. I get pretty shiny easily on my forehead and nose area.

I can’t really go to the spa every month and would like to find an alternative to get similar treatments at home? Thank you!

Newbie product recommendations

I've been lucky so far with good genetics and really lazy when it comes to skincare but now at 36 it's catching up to me and I notice my skin doesn't look as good.

My skincare routine consists of just a Nivea cleanser and moisturizer. And never wearing sunscreen unless outdoors all day at the beach etc.

I picked up a biore sunscreen when I was in Japan last month which I love.

What products would you recommend for someone in their mid 30s

Skin concerns - oily skin, blackheads

I would like to add an anti aging product. No retinol because I wax and thread my face every month.

Consistently breaking out

I’m a bit of a skincare junkie but have only just recently gotten into K Beauty. I don’t have very sensitive skin and rarely break out from products, but I have been developing a bunch of small bumps (pimples or maybe some kind of reaction?) all over my forehead with basically every K Beauty product I’ve tried so far. They go away within a couple days of discontinuing the product so I’m fairly certain the product is the cause. Below is what I have used so far (not all together, except the Centella kit).

Does anyone have any insight into what might be causing this? I’ve read that niacinamide can trigger breakouts and I see it is in the Centella Toner and the Dr. Ceuracle mask but not the Althea 147 barrier cream and not the other Centella products. I am wondering if there is some other ingredient known to cause irritation that I should try to stay away from.

By the way, I’ve used a ton of different K Beauty sheet masks and never had the issue.

Here are the products:
- Dr.Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Sleep Mask
- Dr. Althea 147 Barrier Cream
- SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Travel Kit, containing Centella Ampoule, Toning Toner, Ampoule Foam Cleanser, Cleansing Oil and the Soothing Cream

Combo skin newbie — how do you tell if your cheeks need a richer moisturizer or just more hydration first?

Hi all, 28 and just starting to take Korean skincare seriously. My T-zone gets oily by mid-afternoon but my cheeks feel tight and a bit flaky, especially after cleansing. I've been reading about toners, essences, serums, and creams and I genuinely can't tell whether my cheeks want a thicker cream or a hydrating layer underneath.

For those of you with similar combo skin — how did you figure out which it was? Is there a way to test without buying five things at once?

Retinol vs Retinal

I saw someone compare retinol and retinal to chicken breast and protein 😄

Basically, “retinoid” is the broader category, kind of like “protein.”
Retinol and retinal are both types of retinoids, just like chicken breast is one source of protein.

The key difference is how many steps they need to convert into retinoic acid, which is the active form your skin actually uses.

Retinol has to go through two conversion steps:

Retinol → Retinal → Retinoic Acid

Retinal only needs one:

Retinal → Retinoic Acid

So in simple terms, retinal is closer to the active form, which is why it’s often considered stronger or faster-acting than retinol. But that can also mean it may be more irritating, depending on your skin.

Retinol is usually seen as the gentler, more beginner-friendly option. Retinal may be a better choice if your skin already tolerates retinoids well and you want something a bit more potent without jumping straight to prescription tretinoin.

Yami Order Experience

Hi all,

I wanted to share my experience and ask if anyone has experienced similar from Yami.

I ordered 3 skin care products from Yami on May 15th and my order was delivered today. Definitely not a bad turnaround time.

The problem is my package arrived and was obviously previously opened and taped shut. It has a rip across the entire top and then clear packing tape that is closing the envelope back together. The clear packing tape isn’t even well applied and parts of the opening were uncovered.

I proceeded to open the package and found that the boxes had either been opened or crushed with the safety seals broken. Additionally there was 1 item missing entirely.

I started a live chat with Yami and the experience was ok. The rep issued a refund for the missing items and after some back and forth sent a return label to return the opened items. Initially they wanted me to pay $7 to return the items.

I see many great reviews for Yami upon initial search and not many experiences like this so curious if anyone else has experienced similar or if I was just particularly unlucky.

This was my first time buying from Yami. Packaged delivered be OnTrac.

Is it even worth it to reorder or just cut my losses and move on?

Edit: wanted to add that all items were marked as shipped & sold by Yami

Reedle shot 1000

I wanted to open a discussion about reedle shot 1000, because everyone talks about 100, 300, and 700, but no one talks about 1000.

So a little background info about my experiences: I started with 700 last year in January, I went to a K beauty store in Miami on vacation (that no longer exists, sadly) where I had a skin analysis. I was recommended to start with 700 because my history of using a 0.1% tretinoin cream at the time with no irritation, I was told my skin could handle it. I used it once a week for most of the year. Then I ordered the 1000 to see if that could work for me too. Now, I know the 1000 is recommended for spot treatment per the brand, but I had a lot of deep pitting acne scars and some very new wrinkles I’m trying to work on, so I’ve been using it all over my face and neck. It’s been working fine for me, and I have been tracking my scar healing through pictures I take every few months and there’s a big difference between now and when I started.

Also pro tip, apply reedle shot, your whole nighttime routine, and top it off with a biodance gel mask for at least 3 hours, and wake up to the glowiest glow for the next 48 or more hours.

Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone else has tried reedle shot 1000 and if so, what your experience was like with it. Also please share if you have tried 1300, how you use it, and how it works or didn’t work for you. I, myself, don’t plan on trying the 1300, but I am SO curious about it because no one talks about it.

Tried Ulthera in Gangnam as an Indonesian — my experience so far

I’m Indonesian and tried Ulthera in Gangnam recently, so I wanted to share my experience for anyone curious about Korean lifting treatments.

I was nervous before going because I kept seeing people say Ulthera hurts a lot. For me, it was painful in some areas, but still manageable. The jawline area felt the most sensitive. It was more like a deep warm aching feeling, not a sharp surface pain.

Before the treatment, they checked my face and explained which areas they would focus on. I appreciated that because I wanted to understand why certain areas needed more attention instead of just doing a random package.

They also had an Indonesian translator, which helped a lot. I can speak English, but for treatment details and aftercare, it felt easier to understand everything clearly in Indonesian.

After the treatment, my face felt a bit tight and sore, but I didn’t have major swelling. I still went out after, just felt a little tired from the whole process.

I can’t say much about the final result yet because they told me it takes time to show gradually, but so far the overall experience was better than I expected.

If you could keep only ONE Korean skincare product forever, what would it be?

What skin concern did it help with the most. Acne, pigmentation, dehydration, texture, redness, barrier repair, glass skin, etc.? Also mention your skin type because I love seeing how differently products work for different people.

Curious to know everyone’s ultimate holy grail Korean skincare product and why 👀

What’s one skincare truth you wish you’d learned earlier?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. There are so many things I wish someone had told me before I spent years and way too much money figuring them out.

For me, the biggest one is: your skin barrier matters more than any active ingredient. I was using retinol, acids, vitamin C all at once thinking more = better. My skin was red, stinging, and breaking out. I stripped back to just cleanse + moisturize + SPF for a month and everything improved. Should’ve started there.

What’s the #1 skincare truth you had to learn the hard way?

Some common ones I’ve heard:

Sunscreen every day even indoors

Expensive doesn’t mean effective

Your towel can cause breakouts

More products ≠ better results

Consistency > intensity

Curious what yours is.

Sunscreen for combo skin

Looking for the best sunscreen for combination skin! Hoping it’s not too hard to find in the US. Maybe there’s one that has a good US formula? If not, I’m okay with something I have to order online. It just gets expensive.

Best Korean sunscreen for babies/infants? (sensitive skin + minimal white cast preferred)

Hello! I’m looking for recommendations for a good Korean sunscreen for my baby.

Things I’m looking for:

  • gentle for sensitive baby skin
  • preferably mineral or baby-safe ingredients
  • low/no fragrance
  • minimal white cast if possible
  • easy to apply (not super thick/sticky)
  • good for face + body

Would also love to hear:

  • what age you started sunscreen
  • any Korean brands you trust for babies
  • sunscreens that DIDN’T work for your baby

I’ve seen brands like Round Lab, AtoPalm, Dr.G, and Zeroid mentioned, but I’m overwhelmed by all the options.

Thank you! ❤️

Anyone else prefer milky toners over watery ones?

Body: I used to think watery toners were enough, but ever since I tried the Laneige Cream Skin Refiner and Celimax Dual Barrier toner, my dry skin has been so much happier. There’s something so comforting about that milky texture. What’s your favorite milky toner?

Did anyone else think they had oily skin but actually had dehydrated skin?

This was me for YEARS.

My face would get shiny by midday. I’d use mattifying cleansers, alcohol-based toners, gel moisturizers only. The more I tried to control the oil, the oilier I got.

Turns out I was stripping my moisture barrier and my skin was overproducing oil to compensate. Switched to a gentler routine with hydrating ingredients and suddenly my “oily skin” was… normal?

I did the wash-and-wait test (wash face, wait 30 min, don’t apply anything) and realized my skin actually felt tight in some areas.

Curious if anyone else went through this:

  1. What skin type did you think you had and what did you actually have?
  2. How long did it take you to figure it out?
  3. What was the biggest change you made after realizing?

Yami - fullfilled by yami order

I was looking to buy two products from the Yami website. One being the Roundlab Moisturizing Sunscreen (PA+++) since I don't want the US version and one being the the Roundlab Birch Cleanser.

  • For the sunscreen - it says both Fulfilled by Yami and Sold by Yami.
  • For the cleanser - it says Fulfilled by Yami, but sold by Twenties Beauty.

For those who have experience with this site or this specific brand, would you say it's ok to buy the cleanser if it's fulfilled by Yami, but sold from a different retailer. It was advised in other threads to only get products that are fulfilled by Yami, but idk if that would automatically imply that you should only purchase items sold by them as the retailer as well. I want to get the legitimate Korean formulation of the product. I know for sure the sunscreen was reformulated for the US market.

( But if the formula hasn't changed for the cleanser should I just purchase the product from Target or another place I can actually go in store. Does anyone know if the cleanser formula changed as well ? )
