Hi! I want to start taking my pup hiking but we live in hell aka Vegas and are in need of good shoes. I have looked at Wagwear but have concerns since the mountains are very rocky here. She also has dewclaws and I don’t want her to get any blisters.
I also saw Clawgs but haven’t been able to find many reviews about them. I’m thinking about using the paw pad stickers, would those be good enough while hiking?
Any other recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks~
It’s been so hot these days so we’ve been struggling to walk our pup. Are there any indoor dog parks preferably in/near Summerlin area? The type of gyms that have the obstacles or fly ball? If not, what do you do with your pup outside other than walking through stores?
I posted on here about Soba about a month and half ago when we first got her! She is now 25lbs and 5 months old 🥹. I am unwell with how much she has grown already. So much has happened since we got her.
We did her Embark DNA test and got her results! She’s about 80% APBT. With a bit of super mutt (most likely Doberman and Boxer) and GSD. Was not expecting the GSD at all.
She’s learned soooo many tricks already. Our trainer said shes really smart and has high hopes she will be a great doggy citizen in the future!
She’s still a little velociraptor but has gotten better a bit. Her bites definitely hurt less now that she doesn’t have razor sharp incisors lool
We live in Vegas and it currently turns 80 degrees by 8am, so instead of our morning walks we have been teaching her walk on a treadmill. But since she has the attention span of a goldfish, its been hard to get her to really get in the zone on the treadmill walk.
We’re blessed to have so many friendly neighbors with dogs (our trainer is actually one of them) so she’s already made several friends and has playdates almost weekly. She is so social. Meeting new animals/humans is no issue for her. Our cats still aren’t too thrilled about have her around but as long as shes calm they coexist pretty well.
So excited to see how she continues to grow! I’ll post another update in the future!
Hi! I’ve been wanting to start my own starter for a while now but haven’t been able to actually start it until now. My schedule wasn’t always consistent before so felt overwhelmed with it.
I’ve had this bag of dark rye flour and it’s exactly a year past the expiration date (literally May 27, 2025). It’s unopened and has been in my pantry the entire time. Would I still be able to use it? Will my starter still make good sourdough if I only use AP flour?
Also, once it’s ready can I just stick the starter in the fridge until I’m ready to use it again or should I still be feeding it weekly?
Idk if this is the right flare but I bought these frozen star apple fruit on Weee! How should I eat this? Should I just turn it into juice?
I posted on here a couple days ago about a tortoise that came onto my property and have been taking care of it until the owner can be contacted. I noticed that he has been sleeping mostly during the day and is only active early morning and evening since taking him to get scanned for a microchip. The first day he was very active. He didn’t eat much yesterday and today but I did find some poop this morning. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? I would really like to make sure this guy gets back to his owners alive.
Edit: I forgot to mention, I live in Vegas and it is currently 98 degrees right now

I took him to the vet to get scanned for a chip and he has one! We tried contacting the place that administered the microchip (since the info wasn’t updated) but they’re closed today. So I’ll be hanging onto him for the meantime.
I bought him leafy greens and he ate a bit of it. Unfortunately, our gardeners were just here so we’re a bit lacking on the weeds. Also I just took my pup out to potty and the torti kept following us around. He would get really close to us if we didn’t move. Does this mean he likes us? I have no idea what he’s thinking. Lmao hopefully I can get him back home.
This tortoise strolled onto my driveway and was following me around so I brought him(?) into my backyard for now. I posted about it to find the owner but no ones claimed him so far. If i end up keeping him how often do they need feeding and do they drink water? I’ve offered him water but wasn’t interested. Can you tell if this is a boy or girl and about how old?
Not sure if this is the correct sub to post this on but how do you organize clothes that aren’t clean but aren’t dirty? How do I organize it without like putting it on my chair or something? Doesn’t feel right to just put it back
Adopted Soba 3 weeks ago. She is the sweetest t-rex ever. First time big dog owners. Crazy how fast they grow. Shes almost doubled in size already!
