besides being petty and immature as a big theme in his character he actually genuinely really cares for her, like when she walks texting on her phone he makes sure there's no obstacles, or another thing he would make sure when they walk he purposely go slower to match her pace, he developed a fondness of plums because she grew plums etc..

"the Merry bad ending" the new manhwa is surprising to me because usually manhwas don't have such dark themes like manga because manhwa requires more approval processes before releasing so I was shocked when I read the tags lol

edit: I just finished it's a very beautiful story, I liked the ending it was meaningful/bittersweet. and the yandere stays yandere to the very end staking everything on the line so DW he doesn't get washed out, in fact he gets crazier in time as like every timeline.

on the other hand the ML is very sweet and I also did like him.

I think the beginning was strong but the middle part of the story get stretched out a bit, but the finale ending was unique and was a strong ending I liked, I recommend. at first I started reading for the yandere but I ended up really liking the story in general especially towards the end, it was almost philosophical

It's more on the realistic side rather fantasy dark love genre which is why it's psychological horror, this is good for people who are more into realistic psychological stories.

Kedamono is no doubt one of the most extreme yandere stories >!mutilation and gore etc!<, I think what's scary is the fact it's realistic. It's not just a rich, hot, charismatic guy who loves you, but rather someone who actually has issues, I do like realistic yanderes but this actually scared me tbh. I read this one on accident bc after reading a sad story I wanted to read something happy and light hearted but it was super late at night and I didn't see the manga thumbnail correctly so I pressed it to read and kinda jump scared myself LMAO😭 I'll say kedamono is good for a psychological read if you want to be shocked Alot.

The second manga has 3 yanderes, two red flag yanderes twins and a black flag, I didn't find the red flags scary but I did for the black flag because at some point I realized that in her situation, nobody could've found and rescued her and the black flag knew this too so for a sec my heart dropped. I don't think this is as scary as kedamono, but the black flag kinda scared me the way he was unpredictable. You can read this if you want extreme yandere but without all the gore and other stuff like kedamono.

There is definitely more psychological yandere stories but it didn't scare me so I didn't add it here. Examples:
