I cannot find the source though the watermark in Japanese says ‘sample.’ Could this be something unreleased?

This is the Talahiang, a supernatural forest creature in Philippine folklore, specifically from the region of Zamboanga. Described as a giant, standing at 12 ft with a muscular build, has dark-skin and coarse hair.

It is said to inhabit large jungle trees and is associated for causing travelers to lose their path. It gets easily frightened by loud noise which causes it to transform into a large lizard before fleeing.

I sort of stumbled upon this folklore by accident, it being one of many obscure local myths. I couldn't help but make concept art and why not make it yandere also XD

He meets a woman who wandered rather far into the deepest, reserved part of the forest, into his territory. For some reason she didn't seem to get scared by him, she didn't scream, didn't even seem like she could talk in general. He ends up fascinated by her and just decided on not letting her leave.

I wanted to share a 4-page prologue for my yandere manga I’m currently working on (reading direction from right to left).

The premise:
Rin has never had much luck with dating. Her sharp, alternative look, combined with her tendency to be blunt and sometimes rather detached, means that most guys don't stick around for very long.

Things start to change when her closest friend, who is almost the complete opposite of Rin, sweet, feminine, and genuinely happy, announces that she has found the perfect partner. Feeling left behind and increasingly frustrated, Rin decides to give a dating app a try.

While scrolling through profiles, she comes across Yoru. With his pitch-black hair and alternative style, he is exactly her type. Not expecting much to come from it, she swipes right.

It's a match!

There is just one problem: Yoru isn't simply going for an alternative aesthetic. He is an actual vampire.

Rather than panicking, Rin meets him with her usual unbothered and direct attitude. It completely captivates him. Her lack of fear fascinates him, her sharp tongue is exactly what he likes, and she happens to have an incredibly intoxicating scent unlike any human he has encountered before.

Rin soon finds herself caught up with a monster who has absolutely no intention of letting his new favourite obsession go.

I will be publishing this manga as a mini-series on Pixiv, available in both Japanese and English. This is just a fun side project for me, so I’ll be uploading new chapters whenever I find the free time.
