Looking for Monk/Fist only Build MMO

I have played hundreds of hours of FFXIV and did thoroughly enjoy MNK but I finally burnt myself out on all of the classes and overall feel of ffxiv . Really big fan of Monk and Sage classes but I am wanting to find another mmo that I can invest time into that I could focus mainly on bare fist/fist weapons.

I would prefer if the class was fist/fist weapons only (not daggers or anything like that).

Looking for an MMORPG where organic social interaction is there from the very beginning

I'm looking for an MMORPG that actually feels like a multiplayer game from the moment you start playing, rather than a single-player RPG with other players running around in the background.

I've tried quite a few games recently: Final Fantasy XIV, Throne and Liberty, The Elder Scrolls Online, Destiny 2 and Fallout 76. I really enjoy Destiny 2 and Fallout 76 from a gameplay perspective. The combat is fun, I enjoy the progression and loot, and Destiny 2 in particular has managed to keep me playing even though I don't really interact much with other players.

But what I'm really looking for is something different: I want the game itself to naturally make me interact with other people.

This is actually one of the things that disappointed me most about FFXIV. I went into it expecting a very social MMO, but for a large part of the early and mid game it feels like I'm essentially playing a single-player RPG while other players happen to exist around me. Yes, you can talk to people, join Free Companies, go to clubs, hang out in social areas, etc. But those things feel very disconnected from the actual gameplay to me. I'm standing in a room full of players, but I don't really have a reason to talk to any of them.

And I know the usual response is "FFXIV becomes much more social at endgame, when you have difficult content that requires coordination." But that's specifically not what I'm looking for.

I don't want an MMO where I spend the first 100 hours playing alone and then eventually reach a point where cooperation becomes necessary. I want the multiplayer aspect to be present during the actual leveling experience. I want other players to be relevant to what I'm doing, not just people I can technically interact with if I decide to stop playing the game and deliberately look for social activities.

What I'm looking for is something more like what I remember from playing Lineage 2, World of Warcraft or Dofus. You would be leveling somewhere, encounter another player doing something similar, start talking, invite them to a party, kill things together for a while, maybe meet some other players, and suddenly you're playing with a group of strangers. It didn't feel like you were following a "social system". The game itself created situations where interacting with other players was the obvious and useful thing to do.

That's the kind of experience I'm looking for.

I don't necessarily need every single piece of content to require a party, and I'm not looking for forced cooperation just for the sake of it. I just want the game to create enough interdependence that interacting with other players happens naturally. I want to encounter someone and think "Hey, we're both doing this, let's do it together" rather than "There's another player. Anyway, back to my quest."

So I'm looking for an MMORPG where organic social interaction starts from the very beginning, preferably as part of the normal progression and gameplay rather than something you have to deliberately seek out in guilds, clubs, RP spaces or endgame raids.

What games actually achieve this well? I mainly want something that genuinely feels like I'm playing a game with other people, rather than playing a single-player game inside an MMO.

Looking for an MMO without a mandatory subscription

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for an MMO without a mandatory subscription with gameplay somewhat similar to WoW or FFXIV.

My main requirements:

A proper MMO experience with classes, dungeons, raids, quests, etc.

Combat similar to WoW/FFXIV, especially with auto-attacks being handled automatically by the game

I don’t want to manually manage every basic attack like in ESO — that was one of the main things that bothered me about the game.

Ideally buy-to-play or free-to-play, but I don’t want a subscription to be required to play the game normally.

I’ve already tried ESO, but the combat system isn’t really for me because of the way basic attacks work.

Do you guys have any recommendations that might fit what I’m looking for? Even lesser-known MMOs are welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Suggest an MMORPG to me

Played WoW classic, couldn’t get in to FFXIV, GW2 the progression feels meaningless, OSRS combat is terrible imo, BDO was something I enjoyed recently but the PvP scene is dead. Is there anything left for me to try. I primarily prefer PvP, but do like the slow grind of levelling, or grind in general, and some group PvE. I also tried dark age of Camelot but turned it off after 2 mins as it looked terrible.

Im looking for an MMOFPS,something like STALZONE

Hey fellow gamers, I recently started playing STALZONE and I really enjoyed the grind system, but I'm tired of the graphics style and the stalker genre, so I'm looking for a different MMOFPS. I didn't really like Destiny and The Division series. I'm open to suggestions. Even if I can't reply to your comments, you can be sure I'll read them! Thanks in advance.

New mmo I can stick with for a while

Im looking for mmorpgs that are new, released this year or in the last 2-3 years. I have tried mmos like osrs, rs3, swtor, lotro, wow, albion, daoc, gw2, eso. I enjoyed them but I couldn't stick to them long term either because of the grind or because my laptop couldnt handle them (8gm ram ssd i13) or simply because I got bored.

I also dont like playing really old mmorpgs because of starting them late, where most of their playerbase has been playing them for 5+ years if not decades i dont feel good starting as a new player so thats why Im looking for newer mmos. What I want from them is alot of content that dosent get repetitive after a while, good pvp element, not too grindy, active community, and could also be a private server

Returning player - mmo suggestions

Hey everyone, I stopped gaming altogether, around 2020 when my firstborn came into the family.

I was a WoW player all my life with short introductory sessions into guild wars 2 and elder scrolls online but I always returned to azeroth.

Now I think the time is right to get back to it, I really missed the mmo community, the partying to get through dungeons, guilds(although I wasn't much of a raider), but the thing is all the options are overwhelming and I think I need a discussion before I chose what to start.

Got my old Rig with an r5 2600x, 1660 and 32gb ram, got an Xbox ROG Ally x.

Money isn't really an issue but I remember one of the reasons I stopped was because wow sub was wasting away since I was gaming a total of 8 hours a week.

What's everyone's take on this?

Should try wow one more time

Hey everyone,

I’m looking into whether I should come back to WoW, and I could use some opinions from people who are playing today.

A little history:

*Played the WoW beta back in the day — yes, I’m that old 😂

*Played Vanilla and The Burning Crusade until I got burned out.

*Came back for Legion and absolutely loved it.

*Played Battle for Azeroth for a couple of months, then quit again.

*Came back for WoW Classic and loved it, but eventually got burned out again.

*In between, I switched to New World, which became my main MMO until they announced they were shutting it down.

*I’ve also tried Guild Wars 2 and put around 150 hours into it, but for whatever reason it just never really grabbed me.

These days I don’t have nearly as much time for gaming. I’m a dad now, so realistically I have around 2 hours, maybe 3–4 nights a week.

So the big question:
Is WoW worth coming back to in 2026 for someone with limited playtime?
Can you still have fun and make decent progress playing fairly casually, or does it start feeling like a second job?
Or should I just accept that I’m getting too old for MMOs? 😂
Would especially love to hear from other dads / older players with limited gaming time.

What MMORPG can I play while pretending to work?

I’m looking for something I can casually play during work breaks without needing to stare at the screen every 10 seconds. 😭

Preferably something with chill progression, gathering, crafting, or stuff I can do while my brain is pretending to be productive.

Basically, I want an MMORPG that understands I have bills to pay but still want to grind.

an mmo like habbo?

When i was a kid i was lucky enough to play habbo in its peak. The levels was more about "furni" = how rich are you and everytime you go in, go randomly enter a room and start interact.

There were many user event. for example a joke competition made by a rich player and he would give a free furni to the winner. or other funny games using chairs. Sometimes there were official events like gorillaz concert and so on.

for some reason in my country's server there was a thing: having a bank. basically you give ur furni to a player and he will hold it in his room like a bank and i managed to be an employee and manage the office lmao

what's interesting were the freedom players have to create "custom events" for everybody. these events made habbo so live.

Do you know other mmo like this?

Looking for an active MMO maybe with (optionally) a smaller community around it?

I'm looking for an MMO which is relatively active and maybe with a tighter knit community built around it, I'm someone who has only really played a couple hundred hours of ESO and about ten or so of LOTRO and SWTOR. With the state of ESO I do not wish to go back there and I am looking for a new MMO to spend time in.

I'm in college so I only have a few hours every day to spend on leisurely activities like gaming so perhaps something which doesn't require too much persistent input would be well appreciated.
Ideally it would be nice to also have a social aspect to the MMO where you can just talk to people instead of being put into a spiral of grinding without a moment's rest.

To just reiterate, I am looking for an active MMO which is preferably of a smaller community size (but not a must) and does not require a constant grind to it, and has a friendly community or at least is not outright toxic.

I want to like MMORPGs

I've always been fascinated by MMORPGs. The idea of having a huge fantasy (or sci-fi) world where tons of people are all playing in the same world sounds really cool to me.

But whenever I try one, I don't really get that feeling. Instead, I end up finding guilds that require you to play actively, constantly doing dungeons and other group content.

What I'd really like is an MMORPG where I can just do my own thing. Explore the world, find interesting places, do whatever I feel like doing, and occasionally interact with other players when I happen to come across them.

I don't want to play completely alone. I just don't want to feel like I have to constantly be part of a guild or group to enjoy the game.

Is there an MMORPG out there that works like this? Something where I can just wander around, meet other players naturally, interact with them if I want to, and then go back to doing my own thing?

Looking for an MMORPG to play with a group of friends in 2026 - what would you recommend?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for an MMORPG to really get into in 2026, but I'm honestly not very knowledgeable about the genre, so I'd really appreciate some advice from people who have been playing MMOs for years.

I've played a few MMORPGs and similar games in the past, mostly when I was younger: the original Dragon Nest, Albion Online during its first year, the first Path of Exile, Neverwinter, Dofus 2 almost 10 years ago, Dragon Ball Online, PokeMMO, and a few others.

The problem is that I never really stuck with any of them for very long. Back then I was younger, barely read guides or tried to properly understand the games, and I didn't have a large group of friends to play with.

Things are different now. We have a pretty big group of friends interested in playing together, and we're also old enough that paying for a subscription or spending some money on the game isn't really an issue.

What we're mainly looking for is:

  • An MMORPG that is still very active in 2026.
  • A healthy and reasonably large playerbase.
  • Regular updates, events, expansions, or new content.
  • Something that still has several years ahead of it rather than a game that feels like it's slowly dying.
  • Good group content and things we can work toward together.
  • A game where we can have fun without necessarily needing to become hardcore players immediately.

I don't know enough about MMOs to say whether things like having an amazing economy, crafting system, PvP scene, etc. should be major deciding factors. At the end of the day, we're mostly looking for something fun that we can spend hundreds or potentially thousands of hours playing together.

Right now, Dofus 3 is probably our main choice. Most of us played Dofus when we were younger and have a lot of nostalgia for it. We love the combat system and general style of the game.

My concern is that I don't really know how healthy Dofus is nowadays. Does Dofus 3 have a large active population? Is it growing or at least stable? Does it seem like a game that will remain active for many more years?

We're also interested in Path of Exile 2, although I know it's more of an ARPG than a traditional MMORPG.

We've also considered World of Warcraft, but we're a little hesitant because of the subscription, expansions, different versions of WoW, and generally not knowing where we should even start.

We're completely open to other recommendations as well.

If you were introducing a group of friends to MMORPGs in 2026, and you wanted a game that is active, populated, regularly updated, and worth committing to for the long term, what would you choose and why?

Dofus 3? WoW? FFXIV? Guild Wars 2? ESO? Albion? Something else entirely?

I'd really appreciate any recommendations, especially from people who currently play these games.

Thanks!
