confused about the Berlin / Money Heist timeline and ages of characters

confused about the Berlin / Money Heist timeline and ages of characters

Okay, am I the only one who is super confused about the timeline in Berlin and how it connects to Money Heist?

I’ve been trying to figure out when season 1 of Berlin happens, when season 2 happens, and how long before the events of Money Heist those events take place and I am super confused by the ages of some characters.

Especially Cameron. Don't even get me started about Berlin's son, haha.

In season 1 I am pretty sure there’s a line implying her age, then in season 2 Berlin literally says Cameron is 25, but in the last episode (unless I misunderstood the subtitles?) they say she’s only 23?

So now I genuinely don’t understand the timeline anymore.

Also does anyone know the approximate ages of the team members during Berlin?

And how much time passes between:

 1. Berlin season 1
 2. Berlin season 2
 3. the beginning of Money Heist

I know the show probably isn’t super strict with continuity, but I’m curious if there’s any official explanation or fan theory that actually makes everything make sense.

If it was mention in Money Heist, my apologies, last time I watched it was an eternity ago and I do not remember those details.

Thanks to everyone who comments (ideally politely).

Is it just me or the Duke is one of the best written characters of the whole franchise

I really loved season 2, I think the Duke (José Luis García-Pérez) has been an awesome introduction, his acting was so good to me, magnetic, charismatic, I really felt Damian’s fear to hurt him as I think I would have reacted in the same way, I think he’s really one of the best written characters of the series

Berlin S2: Stupid Writing

Spoilers Ahead:

>!There's actually no reason at all for anybody to burn alive. Sure, we don't know whether the methane automatically refills, but it's VERY easy to check it!! Just toss something in the vault, let it burn, toss something else, close it up and open it back. Such a basic concept for figuring that out without almost killing 2 people. Sloppy writing or just bs because after all its a tv show and they gotta get views somehow.!<>!!<

Overall it was a great season, but quite a few question marks on some writing decisions. >!Like for example the whole throuple thing is completely useless, atp they're just shoving wokeness into every type of media for no reason that actually advances the plot. Also I feel within the whole Money Heist universe, they've gotten this idea that we have to kill someone to keep it entertaining.!<

Just my opinion! What do you guys think?

When the dub lines up so perfectly you forget what language you're watching

Idk what changed for s2 but the dubbed mouth movement is mesmerizing. Probably Al lip-sync of some kind. Either way the perfectionism is deeply satisfying.

Keila's (Michelle Jenner) awful acting

She's always confused, shocked, disorientated at all times. That's the only emotion and expression she has; she's having sex? shock and confusion; she's watching Berlin talk to the Duke about how confident and super prepared his plans are? she still looks completely shocked by what Berlin's saying completely breaking immersion. The scene where she's scanning the bushes and there are heat waves, possibly indicating enemies, she's straight up screaming and panicking like she has no idea what to do or what's going on as if that wasn't the exact reason they're scanning for potential enemies in the first place. My gosh, she's such a terrible actress and the character is written horrendously. Keep in mind these are supposed to be elite level thieves and operatives, I understand the whole socially awkward but super smart gimmick (albeit atp is such a cliche) but this new season exasperates this in an unbearable and unbelievable way

Berlin S2 thoughts

Now, I hear the criticism with the sometimes unnecessary focus on love triangles etc. But I loved the show and I think I prefer s2. Here’s my thoughts:

I love seeing Berlins glory days, he’s such an interesting and charismatic character he makes it quite hard to dislike him even though he’s far from rosey in money heist.

I liked seeing Sergio in this season, and the relationship he has with Damian. He fills the professor’s nerdy archetype really well and doesn’t feel forced.

I didn’t like two out of the 4 love triangles. These were roi and Cameron and then Bruce and Kayla. I feel roi and Cameron lack any real chemistry and it makes it hard for me as a viewer to root for them to be together. I also feel like it was realistic Kayla cheated as she is very new to dating and clearly has lots of understated sexual urges, but I didn’t like Bruce suddenly being a bit of a cuck about it (u til he snapped out of it) but I must say his character arc has been really cool seeing how he’s showing his softer side more due to Kayla.

With that said I think Berlin could have chemistry with a tree and his and Damian’s romances felt very natural and the performances were really good imo. It’s always with a pinch of salt however as obviously we know how Berlin’s story comes to an end in money heist. We also know he wasn’t still with candela so it takes away from the love aspect a tad. I hope they keep these cool female characters in it for the clear set up to another season as if they do some off screen break up that would feel like really bad writing and we have had a season with these people now, let’s get some pay off.

I find the group very likeable as a whole but lacking in general aura without sounding too much like a TikTok lol. Roi is quite a big guy but lacks any skill in confrontation and has no bottle. Correct me if I’m wrong but Cameron being a tech whizz felt out of nowhere this season as I swear in s1 her whole thing was stealing with roi? She was like on par with Kayla and it seemed a bit forced. Bruce is kinda just Bruce and is good comic relief but in general it can sometimes take away from the realistically of them committing such elaborate heists.

Sergio making a return could mean he will be in s3 in some way but that’s just a rough prediction, he may not have a reason to.

His story is finished but I liked the Duke aswell. I like how he mirrors Berlin and showed berlins pettiness and flaws due to him hating him deep down for being a similar copy of him.

Overall, really good and they capture that vibey European elite vibe so well. It just makes you want to roam the streets of Seville having all the money in the world but still being hungry for the buzz from stealing more. I would put s1 at 7.5/10 and this one as a very solid 8 potentially 9. You know what you get with this show and it’s a bit of a one trick, but it’s a damn good trick.

What are your thoughts? Sorry for the grammar.

Are the heists portrayed doable today?

Is it really possible to execute heists of the same scale and manner as portrayed in La Casa De Papel and/or Berlin 1 & 2? Would anyone successfully pull it off despite modern technology?

Berlin S2 using AI

I just started watching the new season and I noticed how well the dub synced up. I switched to the original audio and the mouth movements also match the audio. They definitely used AI for the dubbed version which is why the dub seems so good.

Why do “Berlin” and “the Professor” have new voices in English? Because Netflix replaced the SAG-AFTRA English language voice actors from MONEY HEIST for A.I. training with non-SAG actors.

https://yoyodub.com/berlin-example

Netflix replaced most SAG-AFTRA voice actors since 2023 to train Netflix “Deepspeak” A.I., which fully replaces human performers in all languages.

Tokyo is insufferable

Spoiler alert. Skip if you're not yet on S4

Excuse me I'm just ranting.

It baffles me how the entire group easily overlooks Tokyo's mistakes. Like Denver lost his dad because of her? Rio was tortured cus of her? The heist went downhill since she tried to take over Berlin and they allowed her to do it again in the second heist?

She keeps making rookie impulsive mistakes and all of them are just okay??

Moreover the group idiocracy is even more crazy?? Arturo entered the Bank himself and they just dressed him up and let him around normally?? Didn't he cause SO MUCH trouble last time?? Wouldn't it be better to tie him up and tape his mouth??

It irritates me how all of them discussed their private matters and gang problems in front of the hostages. Like??????

And yes, leaving the maniac leader (Palermo) next to the Chief Bodyguard would be completely harmless right? Right??

I'm like on S4 on some episode and I'm hoping there's a wikipedia page with an episode summary so that i can get over it.

[Spoiler Alert]My persona thoughts about the new released show

I have just finished the new series Berlín 2. And I was thoroughly impressed.

As a sequel to the first season, this season talks about how they "performed" a new robbery show.

The plot stays true to the signature LCDP: combining criminal elements and romantic elements. Some might find this combination is a bit bizarre, arguing that such romance is completely unrealistic in real life. But honestly so what? Why we have to treat it as a documentary story while it inherently has a romantic and idealistic flavor?

The show struck an emotional chord with me. Cameron’s death reminded me of Tokyo. To be honest, I don’t really like either character: impulsive, easily blinded by love, from time to time losing control of their own behavior…… However, when they met their tragic ends, I deeply feel sorry. They may be flawed, but certainly didn’t deserve to die. While I can accept that death is sometimes the price for a successful heist, there is still something that I never saw coming. For instance, who would have thought that Álvaro and his bodyguard were the real true love here?

Berlín is one of my favorite characters. The show unfolds the story of his fourth marriage. I would say his romantic relationship was a legendary story. Camille, Candela, Tatiana……(but he didn’t marry with Camille) Two storylines beautifully interweave: the heist as the primary plot line and romance as the emotional undercurrent.

Were the show to be written as a song, then the word“love” would definitely be its refrain.

Just like the famous painting, like those magnificent buildings and decorations, like Berlin's narcissistic yet intelligent, deeply principled and elegant personality, this show itself is the work of art.

Words can’t express my feelings about this show. All of these are my personal thoughts. If there are some mistakes, please feel free to point out and leave your valuable comments below. I am really glad to hear your voices.

Berlin X La casa de papel crossover possiblility

Do you guys think that there will be any crossovers between the characters in Berlin joining the cast of the new spinoff of La Casa de papel. If so who would you want to see?
Personally I would want to see Keila as I think she would bring a different skill set compared to Rio but we also didn’t get to see much of what he had to offer skill wise in his series.

But if any of the characters do join I think it would be very different for them as Berlin’s heist are very different to the professors heist.

Spoiler Warning: ⚠️
I really want Cameron to make it out alive at the end of the series as she reminded me of Tokyo and I wish I could have seen her maybe in the new spinoff.

Berlin and the lady with ermine (Berlin Season 2) Episode 8 - duke's vault heist scene

I did not understand the 2nd heist scene, why tf Roi and Bruce have to get burned in the fire inside vault. As of what I understood, the fore ignites in vault if under 10 seconds of opening the gate of vault duke's eye biometric is not scanned.

So, when they had opened the vault gate, Roi and bruce did not necessarily had to be inside the vault to exhaust the oxygen in room (via fire).

They could just stay outside till in 45 seconds the fire exhausts and then they reopen the door (as they did in next scene) and also then maybe have wore the fire protection suit as precaution.

Is that a mistake in script ??

Season 1

Started watching season 1 recently and honestly loving it so far! But as I was watching I just got curious to know were any of u rooting for the hostages and police throughout? I feel like in these types of shows, we naturally tend to take the robbers side since we are mostly following their pov. Although the major reason for me rooting for them is Professor and Denver😅.No spoilers please!

Spoiler(About Berlin season 2 Ending)

In the ending where cameron was locked in the diamond bag room why she didn't try to escape from the hole in the bed she made when investigating the boat while searching for diamonds and also why she didn't try to even fight back those two people I wonder

Id dhw would've tried to escape from the hole in the bed she could've at least tried to do so and escape in the ocean with something like a lifejacket or buoyant tube

Or also could've tried to hide in the ship somewhere till they reach someone

There were so many possibilities for the things to go and work but nothing happened.

In the whole season the story was slow paced it was good but in the last 30 minutes they did all the things they planned the whole season and also didn't show us how the paintings were stolen or who stole them we knew they were able to steal them but how did they do it

And also they didn't give any empathy to roy after her death and it felt like her death didn't matter after his crying scene it could've been so much better

There are way too many holes in the story.

I'm Impressed and disappointed at the same time.
