Lego Tabletop Game Rules
Hello everyone! The idea of a Lego-based tabletop game has been on my mind for quite some time. The idea comes from the fact that I know many people in my circle who are interested in things like Warhammer, but have no interest in investing so much money and time. At the same time, many people have a larger collection of Legos. So why not take this collection and create a general set of rules?
The basic idea is, of course, simplicity, scalability, and modularity. And keep costs as low as possible. But how should it be implemented? A suitable database is needed that everyone can agree on. Additionally, it should be possible to contribute one's own ideas and buildings.
Here are a few key ideas:
Minifigures as units.
Minifigures are placed on colored 2x2 plates.
The color then corresponds to the respective player's color.
Each minifigure can hold something in each hand (weapon/shield or tool).
Each minifigure can wear a helmet/hat.
Each minifigure can have a back piece.
Any official set can be used.
There are vehicles, buildings, and terrain.
Custom MOCs can be used with basic rules.
Vehicles can be land, water, or air (every spacecraft is treated as air).
Vehicles, terrain, or buildings, when occupied by a unit, are marked with a flag.
Based on Bricklink categories, these are then assigned in relation to weapons and tools, etc. Similar items are grouped together. (Sword, hammer, axe, rifle, shield, shovel, etc.)
Life points are represented by studs or macaroni pieces.
Otherwise, just the usual rules with dice, etc. Distances are measured using 2x? plates.
Minifigures and sets are then grouped into factions (based on Bricklink) to define abilities or characteristics. Pirates, cowboys, space, city etc.
There should be one more building component. You can harvest blocks and rearrange them to build walls, stairs, obstacles, or similar things in the game.
To make it simple, rounds should not be so long and should focus more on a dynamic with the different ideas.
I know that's not much so far, but at least it's an idea. What do you think, could this be expanded?
