How hard is it to solo every monster?

For context- I played rise and had a lot of fun, and since the only device I can really play games on is my switch, I decided to get GU on it. I hunted all the monsters in rise and had a lot of fun doing so, and I wanted to do the same in GU.

Problem is, I really don't want to buy the Nintendo switch online subscription bcs a subscription to play online is absurd to me. I also severely lack irl friends that play monster hunter so I can't play local multi.

Risebreak scales depending on the player count but I don't think GU does, and also I know Alatreon's in this game and that he's apparently very hard to beat solo. I'm not exactly very good at monster hunter but I beat risen shaggy so i'm not that bad either.

Please tell me if there are any monsters that are particularly hard to solo, so I can prepare accordingly, tho I'm still in the village so it's not for rn lmao.

So i just got into 6 star village quest. when i dodge the attack i just roll away out of the attack range its fine most of the time, but when i fought Glavinus when it use spinning tail attack i just cant dodge at all i need to use superman dive to dodge it.

Is there a way to efficiently dodge an attack?

How do you even hit anything melee??

(FYI I am very aware this is a skill issue on my part)

Staunch bow/bg/hbg user here and I needed some tail slices for some stuff I was making. Being a noncutting user I realized I either had to rng on captures (my prefered method to end a hunt anyway) or grab a bladed weapon and double my chances.

I went through a bunch of cutting weapons to get the job done and tested them out on R.Ludroth as my measuring stick, was more looking for what weapon "felt good" vs "what's most efficient" and I gotta ask as an aforementioned range user...

How the heck do you melee players hit ANYTHING?

How to transition into hub

So I just slayed the urgent quest for valstrax that unlocks 10 star quests and now I'm unsure what 2 do lmao, I've got a rathalos set and a barroth gs with 220 raw and -40% affinity and a total of 382 defense. Should I make a new armor set and a new weapon? I also got recommended to make the elder blade whenever I can. Anyways would love to hear your opinions 😙

Starting MHGU. What do you recommend for a weapon?

Hello! Finally bought MHGU after *finishing* Rise/Sunbreak. What do you suggest for a weapon to learn?

Am a GS main in rise/sunbreak, mhp3rd, mhfu. So a new weapon to learn would be nice just to spice it up a bit. I know how to Swax, bow, DS, LS, and SnS.

I guess my main concern would be how fun your recco weapon is with the Hunter arts and styles and whatnot. I prefer a weapon that specializes on element so I can really think hard on prepping for each hunt. Most importantly, how cool will I be with the drip if I choose this weapon. You know, blademaster/gunner armor set drip.

Im thinking of trying the lance. Just not too sure if the gamplay would be slow with it.

PS. I want to avoid LS and IG. Open to try gunner (but how about the fashion hunting tho?)

Should I go for Rath inferno splitter or rathscension?

My Rathalos axe is finally at the splitting point and I don't know which to send it down, silver rath one has higher element just barely and I'm wondering if that's worth it? The sharpness is also a little better but is that worth the lower damage?

I FINALLY BEAT EX THUNDERLORD ZINOGRE!!!!!

Never took so many tries for another deviant. I tried so many weapons and builds. I just took adept dual blades for fun, I’ve never used this weapon combination before and normally don’t play dual blades at all but it worked. Only 5 more to beat!

Mhr to mhug

So something strange happened, mh risebreak usually is my favorite mh title, but after beating plesioth, the core of mhgu finally clicked for me and with the anomaly quest from risebreak, it hasn't felt the same and mhgu is becoming my favorite.

This isn't me shitting on mh risebreak, i still love that title a lot, more than world and that's the game i started with, plus it has espinas and risen elders. I'm just don't feel it as much personally anymore after really getting into mhgu and its strategicness, attack weight and not being just combos after combos but actually having to think about each and every attack, plus its atmosphere, monsters, armor, weapons (design and gameplay) just clicks with me

Tldr: I still love mh risebreak but after mhgu started to click, it doesn't feel the same and im loving mhgu even more
