Research Study Opportunity for Individuals with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (USA ONLY)

Have you experienced pelvic floor dysfunction (urinary/fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, etc.) and engaged in pelvic floor therapy — or faced barriers trying to access it?

We're a team of Doctor of Occupational Therapy students at Nova Southeastern University conducting an IRB-approved research study, "Pelvic Health Symptoms, Therapy Adherence, and Daily Participation: A Survey Study," under the guidance of Dr. Dianna Lunsford, OTD, OTR/L, CHT. We want to better understand your experiences with pelvic floor therapy — what's helped, what's gotten in the way, and how it's impacted your daily life.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are 18 or older
  • Have experienced pelvic floor dysfunction or related symptoms
  • Have engaged in pelvic floor therapy (occupational or physical), OR faced barriers trying to access it

The survey is anonymous and takes about 10–15 minutes to complete online through a secure platform.

Your voice can help improve how pelvic health care is delivered.

Is there any suggestions that could help. I am on lipuitor and metformin currently. I work out and am very active at my job. We also role play, dress sexy and use toys in the bedroom so we have a healthy sexlife. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks guys!

Clinics with male staff?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is anyone aware of any clinics in the NorthEastern US that can field an all male team for urological procedures?

Suppress sexuality

Can a couple with very different sexual needs actually fix this?
I’m 28F and I’ve been with my boyfriend (31M) for 6 years. We love each other deeply and our relationship outside of sex is genuinely very good. He’s my best friend and I can’t imagine simply throwing away six years together.
But our sex life has been a problem basically from the beginning, and I’m starting to feel like I can’t keep ignoring it.
I have a very high sex drive. I’ve always been extremely sexual and I crave intimacy, passion, experimentation and feeling genuinely desired by my partner.
He is basically the opposite. Sex has always been complicated for him. He has a physical issue with his foreskin which makes sex painful and limits what he can comfortably do. He also experienced sexual abuse from his aunt when he was young, and I think that has affected his relationship with sex and intimacy quite deeply.
He doesn’t really show much curiosity about my fantasies or what turns me on. We rarely experiment, sex is very predictable, and we currently have sex maybe once a month or less. There are also things that make him uncomfortable that I would consider fairly normal parts of an intimate relationship, like oral sex or changing positions, basically if you imagine the non passionate forced sex that what that is since day one.
I’ve tried to understand him and I genuinely do. Knowing about his trauma has actually made me much more compassionate toward him, because I understand that some of this probably isn’t simply a matter of him “not wanting me.”
But at the same time, my needs haven’t disappeared.
Recently I’ve started allowing myself to think about my own fantasies again, and it has made me realize just how much of my sexuality I’ve suppressed during this relationship.
And now I’m scared because I’m starting to want a completely different sexual life. I want passion, spontaneity, experimentation, flirting, feeling desired and being able to openly talk about fantasies. I sometimes fantasize about having experiences with other people or even having more than one partner.
I don’t want to cheat on him. I don’t want to hurt him. And I don’t want to leave him just because sex is difficult.
So my actual question is: can this realistically be worked on?
Have any couples here dealt with a situation where one partner had sexual trauma, physical problems or significant sexual anxiety, while the other partner had a very high sex drive?
Did therapy, trauma work, medical treatment, sex therapy, couples therapy etc. actually make a meaningful difference?
Can someone with sexual trauma eventually develop a much more comfortable, curious and fulfilling sex life with their partner?
And how do you handle the situation when one person’s sexual needs are very high and the other’s are naturally much lower?
I’m not expecting him to suddenly become a completely different person. I’m trying to figure out whether there is a realistic middle ground where he can feel safe and comfortable and I can still feel sexually alive and fulfilled.
If you’ve been in a similar situation, I’d really like to hear what actually helped — and whether you think this kind of gap can genuinely be bridged.

Possible genital skin ulcer — looking for advice

Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed some sores/ulcers on the skin of my penis. They appeared recently, and I’m not sure what could be causing them.
I’m attaching a photo for reference. I’d appreciate any advice about what this could possibly be and whether I should see a dermatologist or a sexual health doctor.
Some details:
When they appeared: [three years ]
Pain: [yes]
Recent sexual contact: [no]

I (45m) have noticed lately that it seems to be taking me longer and longer to finish…

Married nearly 20 years, all things good with marriage. Because of issues with congested prostate, I take Flomax and Cialis daily. No problems with erection, always in the mood when being intimate, just seems to take forever to finish…. Used to be me waiting on the wife to finish, now it’s her wishing I’d finish…

Taking Sildenafil for the first time.

I got some 50 mg sildenafil tablets from Numan to try because my erections haven't been as strong as I'd like. It could be due to anxiety, but I'm not sure.

The tablets don't have a score line in the middle. Can I safely cut one in half with a knife so I can take 25 mg instead?

Has anyone done this with the Numan 50 mg tablets?

Lose my erection after wearing condom

Hey y’all! Hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy.
My problem is quite strange. I started experiencing ED after putting on a condom.
When I’m having unprotected sex or during foreplay, I’m hard as a rock. Women love it, and I feel confident. But as soon as I put on a condom, it’s game over. I instantly start losing my erection, and it just gets worse. Even after I remove the condom, it takes some time for me to get an erection again.
This doesn’t happen just once—it has been happening consistently for quite some time now. I never had this problem before, but now it has become almost normal.
I’m not bragging in the slightest, but I’m well-endowed, and thankfully, I have good stamina. However, this issue is really embarrassing and frustrating.
I’m not very sexually active. I have sex occasionally, but I’m definitely not a playboy. I don’t have a girlfriend or wife either.
I’m 23 years old. Has anyone experienced something similar? What helped you overcome it?

Pimple(?) under head of penis

Hey all.

Not posting for me but for my bf (23) has had an issue for four days now. For context, he’s circumcised, and it might be relevant to note that we had sex at the tail end of me having a yeast infection BUT he wore a condom.

Four days ago, he had what we assumed was a pimple right below the head (directly next to his skin bridge) and, perhaps foolishly, he popped it (bc again, assumed it was a pimple).

Only today has it not been as sore, still painful to press on, and it’s been oozing almost non stop. He’s got dry flakes around the area, but nothing else crazy. The discharge looks like puss and plasma, no blood as far as I’m aware.

Unable to access a doctor/planned parenthood atm due to his insurance and lack of availability within this month. I’m worried, but it seems to be healing rn. Does anyone have any advice or maybe have gone through something similar ? We plan on having him go to the doctor to address it but for now we just want advice.

Came twice in a row?

I had a really strange handjob experience with my partner. I’m not sure what to call it, but I was teasing him out while we were in the car (everyone else was asleep, and we were sitting in the last back row). He ejaculated but not going soft yet; I was a bit surprised and asked if he wanted to keep going. I was squeezing him out the last second time, but it took both of us by surprise. Has anyone else experienced something like that?

I’m 20 and I’m having problems with erection

20M Lately I’ve found that I have problem getting fully erected. I used to have full erection when I masturbate, and it very easily stayed rock hard for as long as I want. But it’s not the same now. When I masturbate or have sex, my penis usually doesn’t get fully hard, and it can go down once I stop touching it. Also, I have trouble with ejaculation. It requires very intense handjob for me to finish. This has affected my sex life and my own pleasure. I have sex impulses almost every day just like how it was in my teenage years, but my penis seems to function worse.
I either jerk off or have sex almost every day. And I feel less good than how I felt a year ago. Is it a sign that I overuse my penis? I’m 20 I shouldn’t be having ED, or conditions related to erection. Does anyone have the same issue? Should I go see a doctor?

I have two holes at the tip of my penis.

I was born with two separate openings at the tip of my penis. Only one of them actually functions as a urethra and is used for urination; the other appears to be a non-functional secondary opening. I’ve never had any difficulty peeing, maintaining a stream, or dealing with infections or other urinary problems related to this.

The condition has never caused me any physical issues or discomfort, but I still have some questions about it and would appreciate any insights from people who might have seen something similar or know more about this?

Can HIV symptoms start 7 days after exposure?

I’m worried and looking for some advice. About 7 days ago, I went to a massage spa and received a massage from a sex worker. The sexual contact was limited to a handjob and massage.

I’ve been feeling like I might have a fever and some confusion, and I’m worried that these could be early HIV symptoms. Can HIV symptoms start as early as 7 days after exposure? Or would these symptoms be too soon/nonspecific?

I’d appreciate any information or advice. Thank you.

Podcasts?

I’m looking for some podcasts to listen to, to help me explore, understand and work on my PE and ED issues.

Most of what I’ve found has been weak.

Today I listened to one featuring a female consultant of some type - talking about how she thinks language is part of the problem and we shouldn’t call it “dysfunction”… I don’t want to hear this malarkey.

I’m very open to hearing from women but more about practical things we can do to help PE and ED. Lived experiences. Debate.

I don’t want salacious content. I’m trying to manage my sexual arousal, and that won’t help.

Is anyone listening to something that sounds like that?

My dick has been semi erected for 4 hours now after using my first Fleshlight Quickshot

I just used my first Fleshlight Quickshot, which I bought online, and it made me orgasm within a minute. Now my penis still gets erect even though I’m not using it anymore. I don’t know if it’s priapism—I looked it up, but it doesn’t seem like it because it can still become soft. However, whenever I think about sexual stuff, it gets hard again almost instantly. Could someone please tell me what happened?

As I’m typing this, it has become soft again, and I don’t know when it will get erect again. 😭

Note: I’m a 22-year-old virgin guy, and before my first Fleshlight Quickshot arrived, I only used my hand.
